They are a good solid radio, I am glad I purchased them. I got the prepper kit with the upgraded Nagoya antennas NA- 771G I’m getting over 5 miles of range Within a respectable line of sight.

I like the flashlight feature, not for the flashlight itself, but for when there are weather alerts, you can get a flashing light indicator.

I researched the pronunciation looking it up in China and it is 'Ocesn" like the water. For ...Mericans 'Whoa' (as in stopping a horse) and 'Sun' works phonetically with the letters so some of us don't get confused. Either way I'm hard pressed to find any FRS/GMRS radio that compares to the build quality and features of Wouxun. It gets even better with their Amateur radio products.

But wait! There's more! It also has many many Fars. On a recent road trip I was in my truck with my AT578 on GMRS channel 19 (yes it does!) and the other vehicle had the 935. No external antenna. We were able to talk 4 - 6 miles. Now someone will scoff at 4 miles and say stupid shit like "that's all" and "my FRS will talk further" well good for you. But here in the real world. The real flat world of Florida 4 - 6 miles from inside a faraday cage is freakin' awesome!! Good radios y'all, GIT SUM!!

The prepper version was out of stock so i basically ordered everything in it separately and it came out to be the same price, less the case, hasnt come yet but am looking forward to it

@@HamRadio2 oh was some collection of upgrades and accessories for about 260 bucks someone somewheres called the prepper kit or some such, i got everything in it separately except the carry case and 2 cd roms looks like, I asked the fella at buy2wayradios to hook me up with everything i should have, so i got the radio, an upgraded nagoya antenna, an adapter for same, an extra battery, a car power adapter, a usb programming cable, I added a 6 dollar reference chart, i think there was supposed to be a mic/speaker hand held thingy but i'm not seeing it on the list now that i'm looking at the email

I like it a lot but one thing I dislike and would like to bring to attention: the sunlight readability is pretty bad on these radios. They need some kind of transflective display, something that will be easily readable in bright sunlight. We have this technology readily available, lol. A radio needs its display to be easily viewable in all conditions including full sun. That is really my only complaint.

⁠⁠@@davidbird7540All true facts. Unfortunately the s88g doesn’t have weather channels and a few other features. I’d pay a bit more for the 935g + to be superheterodyne but then that’s the kg-q10g which I don’t need the gps or cb monitoring.

I bought a GMRS Pro and am sending it back. The whiz bang BT features are not worth the compromise IMHO. 10 presses to change the squelch, choice of 16 channels (1 group) only for dual watch or scan, NOAA alert full volume only, undocumented settings so no one knows what they do. The list goes on..... It needs to be a radio first then do the other stuff

It’s Real simple actually- multi spectrum unlocked full TX/RX with repeaters, and all the bells that go with it as it should be and once was for licensed hams back in the day. Multi spectrum radio lockout TX with no mod? Toodles~ on to the competitor. Does this unit meet that criteria Jason? BTW… nice beard-

❤Hello all, I understand that Wouxin may have an improved voice in the 935G plus! How well does this radio operate with voice prompts? I downloaded the manual and it says voice prompts can be turned on or off and that’s all I have seen thus far! Feel free to refer me to someone who uses this radio with voice! Thanks! Jim, WROX233

Many of the battery tools have an adapter to turn the battery into a cell power supply. This should work with this. USB charging. George Jetson simple.

Picked up the 935G Plus. Does anyone know if there’s a way to sync the top and bottom screens so that you can show the channel name on the top and the frequency on the bottom and they both change together when you change the channel? I can do this with my cheap BTech GMRS V2 and Radioddity DB20-G but can’t find a way on this 935G Plus. Thanks.

I wondered and wanted the same thing. Called BuyTwoWayRadios and they said it is a good idea (they just missed it with everything else they worked on for the PLUS), may come out in a future version. They are excellent people with great service and support. They answer the phone and your receive personal service. Something rare these days.

I don't see anything here that would compare to the KV-UV9 series radios. These would be more like a little brother with a nice color screen. Specs are just way too different. This radio is listed as direct conversion. KV-UV9 series is Superheterodyne. This radio is single channel. KV-UV9 is dual channel. This radio has 2600ma battery. KV-UV9 series has 3200ma battery. This radio does not mention firm knobs. KV-UV9 series has firm knobs. This radio no 220 or 400-512 or 700-960 receive. KV-UV9 has all.

@@HamRadio2 the program wizard feature looks pretty great. much easier to program from the keypad and seems very intuitive. its a strong selling point for this radio vs others. I think it'll become standard in all their radios, at least in all but the lowest end radios.

Had one for a bit. Complete garbage. Receiver issues, repeater issues, on high only pumps out 1.5 watts instead of 5 (and that’s in the channels that allow 5 watts). Sold it to a “Jeep Guy”. Good riddance.
