We will be very happy with your subscription to the channel !! WOW!! Best Fight - Sugar Ray Leonard vs Hector Camacho, Full Highlights, HD "Ng_Ayman HD" channel brings you summaries of professional boxing fights.
Despite Leonards height and reach advantage, the speed and strength had gone and Camacho bullied him in the fight. Sad ending to one of the best middleweights ever: an icon and a legend.
Best welterweights ever. He barely fought at middleweight - I think Hagler was the only time, and after that is was Super Middle or catch weights. The Norris fight was actually at junior middle I think, and I've always thought that the weight loss affected him a la Roy Jones.
Hector Camacho wasn't in his prime either. Camacho was Younger than suger ray, but old for boxing too. Camacho was smaller went up 2 weight classes. Camacho slow down too. Camacho was extremely fast too when Camacho was in this 20's.
@@tbone777. yeah, but it really was so it Sugar Ray Leonard. He was already done with boxing. Because if you look at him and his former self. Two different people
The two greatest fighters of my time muhammad ali and sugar ray leanord made the mistake of carrying on fighting when they should have both retired. No fighter at their peak would have beaten them. There is so much money in boxing they keep making comebacks. Apart from george foreman no other fighter has ever made successful comeback.
Ali and ray both had big egos and great and unusual boxing skills that not to age , i.e roy jones , foreman had the equlaizer of the big punch to keep in the game
Joe Frazier beat Ali at his peak but they fought 3 times. Of course Ali is better. All boxers in their career had a bad night. Unlike Mayweather who bought judges lost fights, cherry picked his fighters, never fought number 1 ranked fighter in any division he was at the las 10 years of his career. Also many of the greatest fighters fought 2 3 times from all divisions in history. If Frazier never rematched Ali Mayweather thinks he is the greatest in history.
There was an article in a boxing mag just before tyson came back and it listed about 20 to 30 great fighters who came back and if they added to there legacy and i think there it sugar ray robinson , sugar ray lenord and ali the only ones who where successful
What a perfect ending to a boxer who loved to cherry pick opponents! It ended with his head getting rocked skyward by feather-fisted Camacho. How fitting!!!
Seems camacho never got full credit. Not only was he pretty, but tough as nails.never got knocked out. Only a few can claim that besides Hagler but the usual rules don't apply cause you d have to shoot him!
When I read of Camachos birthday in Ring so many old great names were there Bazooka Limon , Bobby Chacon .Trinidad ,Chavez Mancini. Wow. He did not fight The Schoolboy but fought for his belt.
@John Vasquez Met his match??? Only 5 years older??? The man was 40 years old. This isn't 20 and 25 year olds. This was a fighter who didn't want to hang it up, not someone who met his match
This is the older washed up leonard now if they fought when they were a bit younger that sugar ray leonard who won them Olympics It would have been a different experience 💯💯💯
@@bbmtgeexactly, Foreman might have been a tougher animal, but that's just genetics. Ray was a superior boxer to Foreman, but Foreman endured more punishment. Ypu can't have it all sometimes. Both greats of boxing of course.
@@bbmtge watching Ray vs. Duran full match, both are mostly brawling, they have their feet mostly when they throw shots planted right in front of their opponent, they usually throw shots with the same patterns, they use angles but they aren't complex, a lot of times instead of using defense they brawl, they look hesitant a lot as unsure. they also use more energy in 80s becoming very sloppy just brawling alot, clintching alot and brawling while clinching a lot unlike the 80s where they mostly using one angle to brawl Ray here fixed those things uses more angles and is more patient and fights smarter he is more advanced how exactly is a younger as I described how they fought in 80s better?
Hagler had good sense to stay retired after being robbed against Leonard, Leonard got lucky draw with Hearns then got wiped out by Norris and Camacho in comebacks.
People saying he was old. No, he just didn't buy his matches anymore. He got a whooping by every great in boxing. This is what it looks like when you no longer have connections.
Man I was thinking how then championship fighters were 30 and up, today there in there teens and 20s mostly, the fighters in the 70s and 80s where cut from a different cloth, Tyson was young champ in the 80s but he was unique and few and far between, he is a rarity much like Inoua.
I still think that even a young sugar ray leonard will still lose to a young strong camacho. Camacho seems like hes physically stronger than ray leonard, he could manhandle sugar ray leonards ducking maneuver technique when you rush forward to him. Camacho could lock sugar rays neck with his right hand during exchanges or flurries (dirty veteran tactic) and follow up it with his knock out punch via left uppercut or left hook. Styles make fights, this fight was great.
Time shows the bad habits of great boxers. Damn near everytime after the jab, he rolled forward with both hands down- basically asking to be hit. Maybe when he was younger he could slip back before the punch or something, idk. Shit looks weird as hell.

The fact you're comparing a past prime Leonard to a prime Leonard and saying the past prime Leonard is more skilled because of using ONE fight which is considered one of the best fights of all time for the Welterweight division which Duran literally manipulated Leonard to stand his ground which allowed Durna to fight his fight and having the balls to stay they was brawlers shows everyone how stupid you're truly are. Please delete you RU-vid videos and channels.
Leonard’s skills were sadly lacking in this fight. In his prime, I think he would have beaten Macho, handily. Like so many, Leonard just fought too long and it showed in this fight.
He was a chicken shit who would dance with the opponent for most of the round. Then. Throw a flurry of punches in the closing seconds to get the points. He hid from Hagler and a rematch with Hearns for many years. Then decided he’d fight both when he felt safe enough to get back in the ring. He lost to Duran and then called for a rematch knowing Duran packed on the extra weight after winning a big fight. That forced Duran to have to drop weight too quick and he didn’t have the same energy in the rematch. Honestly I wish the ref in this fight had allowed Camacho to turn Leonard’s face into hamburger before Calling the fight.
i met camacho when i was a kid in the airport in puerto rico lol i was giving my mom a hard time and he came over and told me to be better to her i was like who is this gay guy n my dad knew who it was we got a photo....nice guy
Robinson should have retired after the LaLonde ko. I mean he won that by KO. But it was close and it could have been the other way around too. That should have been his retirement sign.
Yea Sugar Ray was absolutely done by this point, this is the same dude who took HITMAN HEARNS best shots but gets overwhelmed by this??Still think this was a weird fight cuz even for his age he fought a very odd fight!!
He had some injury, I think it was his leg, and he should've postponed but didn't. Plus, you can only have so many multiple-year layoffs - in this case 6 years - and still expect to have the same balance and reflexes.
For all those on here this dismantling sugar ray leonard yeah I have a problem with that because y'all making it seem like he's not A legend Hector is too yeah but he also His shortcomings as well Julio caesar chavez oscar de la hoya 2 legends themselves that dropped him off so don't make it seem like he was perfect he wasn't a semi better version of nasseem the prince if u ask me jus saying man R.I.P 🙏🏿
Joven?
This is 97 i mean ray only fell over because the term " old man legs " his legs for dancing were there but his legs ability to plant and lock in place and handle punch power seemed off a bit thats not rays fault thats father time , he didnt ko ray ray was coherient the whole fight the ray with the afro would of beat camacho badly lol rip to hector tho he was very fast always seemed determined , had great endurance in his legs
silly those great fighters coming back he would destroy the like of camacho 20 years earlier lot of them try it the only one that had any success was foreman. A lot through the years had to do it for money like joe louis, dont think ray needed money prob just wanted to see if he still had something. plus he looked after his money and didn't let the cheeting promotors and managers take it all, like a lot of boxers but then hes a clever man too clever to b robbed inside the ring or out.
Ray was five years younger then Duran when they fought, Camacho was 5 years younger then Ray when they fought. If Duran had been in tip top shape and five years younger, Ray would have lost second fight also!
@@RaulRamirez-jv4rn Age is always a factor but Duran probably still would have beaten him, sadly Duran took that fight at the last minute was out of shape and barely trained for that fight, fact! Ray broke down an already mentally and physically broken-down Duran. Ray set it up well, but he did not fight a prime and ready Duran and Ray himself has even said this on many occasions. There are even interviews on RU-vid where Ray admits to this, and he would know better than anyone else except maybe for Duran.
@@Miguel-ek8db Leonard retired and return more times than I can count 💀 wtf do you expect from him in this fight especially since he wasn't active AT ALL
Stopped properly. He had been down. Taking a beating for 5 rounds. It was going end with him flat on his back and badly hurt. The stoppage was a good one.
