"Is he scatting?" YES! How many guys their age even know what scatting is, let alone put it in their songs. I love the BTS always pay homage to all the various forms of music that influenced them. This is why they defy genres.

I really recommend "Your eyes tell" and "Crystal snow" Theyre vocal heavy full group songs, but theyre both in Japanese which seems to always have a lot more vocals from Jin Hes a great vocalist, but didnt get many lines in this song, so id love for you to check them out! "Your eyes tell" Is actually a song composed by the youngest member, Jungkook, too!

always appreciate how you break down the lyrics + take note of that old school jazz - such a vibe!:) JK's smooth scat + tone hits the feels; Jin's broad, almost guttural notes was like a vocal dance; Jimin's high notes cry; V's hauntingly gorgeous, grounding depth... the harmonies... there are so many layers presented with deep emotion. they are all so good! this performance is on another level. hard to imagine that they were just dancing their asses off just before o.O #BTSVocalKings

There's a BTS song called Baepsae, it's a fun song to watch and the dance has a joking feel that really fits the lyrics. It's a big critique of Korean society, but it fits so well in other places too, you need an explanation video, but I'd love to see your interpretation, because they are always so good.

For a change of pace...I'd like to suggest Spinebreaker sometime in the future, there's also an explanation video for it by DKDKTV. Just to see a different side of BTS, their socially critical side, but wrapped in a fluffy/light hearted self produced music video...Baepsae and GoGoGo are also criticism of Korean society masked as a fluffy fun song.

You just added a whole new dimension to my understanding of the song with the explanation on card playing. It’s one of my favourites of theirs, I’ve heard it hundreds -if not thousands- of times and I never knew it could have a literal interpretation, too. My mind was blown 🤯 Btw did you notice how the lyrics and feeling emanating from this song are different to their other songs? The boys didn’t contribute to the writing and composition of this one. Bang PD, the owner of BigHit, their record label, wrote it along with a couple of other songwriters. It feels more mature, more broken, desperate and damaged, than the boys could have experienced at such a young age. JK must have been 18-19 when they recorded this. Someone correct me if I’m mistaken, but I think it’s their only song giving off that feeling. They interpreted it beautifully, turned it into a dance, a push and pull of emotions through their vocals, but this pure anguish over a collapsing relationship seems somewhat foreign when compared to their other songs. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they haven’t gone down the typical love song route and go about issues through a more existential prism but this is…. Ugh, it’s something else. I would have loved to hear a whole album centering on the yearning and ache stemming from that kind of a broken relationship. I can’t help but wonder how they would turn such feelings into music and lyrics.

The Real crazy part about this was that at that time JK was 16 and V and Jimin were 19 each and to get those vocals out of them is truly crazy. The vocal line is truly amazing and when you add the rap line vocally they have such range that they can do songs like Fix You and Dynamite and Butter. But the rap line lives and dies for their rap and it is their bread and butter so they love doing those songs that make that side of them shine. People ask them to do songs with harmonies in them and they do but they love to have each member shine so they let each have a little solo but if you listen to the background singers they are usually Jk, Jin, V and Jimin and this song proves that they know how to harmonize beautifully. And as far as why you have never heard it, well radio stations will not play a song that a producer/manager of a group does not come to the office of the programmer/producer of the station and give a little hand to hand (if you know what I mean) to make the producer put it on top of the pile of music to be played. They say it is because America is not in the mood for a non English singer singing a song that most people don't understand but that just isn't true. As Luis Fonsi has seen play on popular music stations with great success with Despacito. But because BTS has a policy of not glad handing for their music, they will never see radio play. In Korean radio stations they even pay money to have music played in radio stations there and not just money but tickets, merch many things change hands and it causes a disparity with music from richer companies played more than poor companies groups. This was the reason BTS had to go out to different countries and Korea knows that BTS had to get famous overseas before it they became famous in Korea.

It's really good for concerts when they have unit- and solo tracks because the others get time to breathe, get changed for performances etc. Edit: Oh I hear what you are saying about Jill Scott - He Loves Me, it's different but same vibe. Love this song and the 18:09 part with JK and Jimin always gets me but they are all great and every part is a highlight bot vocals and instrumental.

You are right about how they make it so you can interpret the song in many different ways. It is crazy how they can have multiple storylines that run throughout their videos/songs. They can have the BU storyline, the album(s) storyline, and/or the song itself is a story. It also blow my mind. This actually isn't part of the Love Yourself: Tear (which is the album with Fake Love). House of Cards came out in 2016 (Fake Love was 2018), and was a part of the Most Beautiful Moments in Life: Young Forever.

The way they break up into units and solos is really smart, because it lets them take breaks and do costume changes without stopping the concert! It's part of how they keep their energy up for 2-3 hour choreo heavy concerts without passing out (much). This honestly might be my favorite vocal line song, I just love the harmonies and the emotion. They play off each other so perfectly.

I love that! "This is getting ridiculous!" LOL I think everyone feels that when they finally find BTS just because they are so freaking amazing you don't understand why they are not more well known. Jin, the oldest, is singing the "no way" part. His vocals are usually brimming with emotions. He often reduces Army to tears with it. And I think you are getting the idea about their bag, it's a freaking Mary Poppin's bag! It is bottomless, there is no end to what they will pull out of it. I would love to see you react to "Am I Wrong" I think it has a very Lousiana feel to it. Oh and don't forget the Cyphers! There are four and should be done in order if possible. Oh and I love the being honest with yourself take on the House of Cards. I don't think that interpretation is very common. And I really like it! Great reaction! This song is from their mini album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt. 2 from 2015, predating Fake Love from the album Love Yourself: Tear that's from 2018. This is one if my favorite BTS songs and it is a real eye opener, I had just started going down the rabbit hole when I saw this live performance and it blew me away. They are so versatile and talented as a group and the vocal line killed it in this song. It's quite unexpected when you start off getting into their music from the official MV's with higher view count and then start watching live performances like this of their b-sides. They have a rare quality in that any genre or style they make songs in, it's them and seems natural and fits, like they say, BTS is the genre.
