Yeah, I also got that vibe about “Sowing the Seeds of Love” it's Tears for Fears in the same traditional English rock band sound The Beatles started and ELO continued. Genre mixing, but also almost orchestral. Mashups like this shouldn’t work so well, but they really pulled it off!

Yeah Curt and Roland's voices are incredible. Love the balancing of their parts on this track. To have two outstanding vocalists in the same group is such a treat on top of the messaging and musicality of their songs. This song is like a seven course meal, and the first time you hear it, you always need to have a little rest after. No one can tell me they make songs like this these days. And of course, like others have said, there is a heavy summer of love era Beatles influence here. That trumpet solo alone gives it away. You can only wish more artists would dare giving it a shot, ’cause it’s not the easiest thing to pull off.

@wpl8275
@wpl8275 Год назад
So interesting to bring up The Beatles because in July 1967 they performed on the first global satellite link their new song All You Need Is Love. "While the song remains synonymous with the 1967 Summer of Love ethos and provided the foundation for Lennon's legacy as a humanitarian, numerous critics found the message naive in retrospect, particularly during the 1980s." So what Tears For Fears was doing was commenting on that by creating this song that brought back that same feeling.
@Itelkner

@@wpl8275 Exactly. It had to be rethought and done in a new way, but vibed with the original perfectly, like part 2. Plus a cool Walrus groove and White Album style horns to expand it further. Gospel organ, soul singer...

This song is a masterpiece imo. It is a musically genius song with 4 (!!) bridges and everytime I hear it I find new nuances in it. The lyrics are heavy with a strong message against the politics of Margaret Thatcher and the arrangement of the song has a Beatles-esque flavour to it. Great stuff, and TFF proves that good music can still be done in a time when other simpler genres was taking over.

Great song! They stated it was their homage to the Beatles sound! "Break It Down Again" & "God's Mistake" are two other great TFT songs. Saw them in 2015, still sounding good. 😎

My Wife and I played this CD on every family road trip, our poor 4 daughters new every time we jumped in the car this CD would play. Today many years later they can repeat most of the songs and what wonderful memories. We still love them today and have seen them in concert a few times. Under rated in my opinion.

The only part that sounds remotely like The Beatles is the brass sounding solo reminiscent of Penny Lane

@@RobertSmith-js2kz lol 😂 Hilarious 😆 I brought this as a single when it was released in 1989,then the album Seeds of Love soon afterwards. I have listened to this song probably several hundred times since. Im a big Beatles fan too,so don’t lecture me about what sounds like the Beatles,or anything about this song 🙄

@@normandavidtidiman9918 My hero. I also bought the album when it came out. Rather disliked it. BECAUSE it sounded like something from 1968. Sorry you can't hear it son. Pretty obvious to the rest of the planet. You must be special.

@RobertSmith-js2kz If that's somehow an insult regarding mental health than you can fuck right off for a start. It's you who has the duff hearing if you think tracks like 'Woman In Chains' 'Year of the Knife' or 'Badmans Song' sound like they're from 1968. Conversely to what you called me,you're not special at all....just a fucking prick 😏

"Politician Granny" is a reference to Margaret Thatcher. It's a dig at the "greed is good" Eighties.

I love this song and its message! It’s nice to see, Amber, I’m not alone with putting my hands on my heart when I’m touched by the lyrics. I was just doing the same even after all these years knowing this song. This is a comprehensive song! So much to discover. Difficult to notice everything from the first time. The music, the lyrics, the visuals. Thank you Tears For Fears for taking the time to make a stand and shake up the views of the common man and sow those seeds of love!

Amber is an actress. She's working you, it's fake emotion. That's why she wore the sunflower t-shirt. She *knew* the video would be full of sunflowers. Not her first time hearing it. Not her first time seeing the video. Notice there's a jump cut between the end of the video and the reaction. Something was edited out. Probably stopped to plan what they were going to say about it. None of this is real. Trust me, I've met some of these "we love you all!" fakes from the world of entertainment in person. The most authentic people aren't so condescending. These two are far from authentic.

So cynical, MarkV…I heard one of their children just before the cut…most likely they had a child interaction that they cut out; there usually isn’t a “jump cut” in their videos-just one complete take. But you can believe whatever…I bet you’re pretty miserable most of the time, MarkV…you probably drive everyone away with your negativity.
