@@ashlinday4469the issue is that they just don’t pay, they’re usually court ordered to, but they simply find another house to squat in after they’re removed, and in places like California or New York they’re just impossibly hard to remove

Somebody made the laws protecting squatters. For me it is incomprehensible and even more why nobody changes them if they are not protecting the owners of the housings.

Squatters rights isn’t the only dumb thing in California. Thieves breaking and entering your home can sue you if they get injured in your home in the middle of a break in. And they’ll win.

I will never understand how squatters got rights. They are trespassers, they shouldn't get rights to property they do not own.

We had a homeowner sued because a thief slipped and fell down her stairs during a robbery, another man went to jail because a home invader started beating him up and he was afraid for his life so he hit back and the thief went unconscious, guess who went to jail.

You can blame unscrupulous landlords for those. Laws like that (ones that protect the poor more than anyone else) don't get on the books unless a LOT of people were being screwed over by not having it expressly illegal to do so.

Those rights are called squatters rights to discourage you from using them. Those rights are YOUR rights as someone who has been in a property longer than 30 days. Those rights protect you tremendously as a normal renter much more than they protect actual squatters

Hopefully they were able to prove it was faked so they could sue them over that and sue them for all the costs they accumulated because of them.
