WPIX Afternoon Bits, July 1986 (Lily Tomlin) 

Here are some clips I've assembled, taken from a Wednesday afternoon showing of "When the Boys Meet the Girls" on WPIX's Star Movie (that's New York City's channel 11). The recording (from July 16th, 1986) also caught the beginning of Tom & Jerry at 2pm.
First is a movie title card, with the very end of the closing credits. A production logo for LBS Communications is followed by the Star Movie voice-over outro. "A Reply to a WPIX Editorial" is next with Paul Kentoffio acting as mouthpiece for Assemblyman Howard Lasher regarding caps on insurance judgments (the video is a little dodgy during this part). A Benson promo leads into the Tom & Jerry open, which then goes to commercial with the station's familiar fireworks bump.
Next, Lily Tomlin asks for a handout for Hands Across America--the event was over but there was more helping to be done. After that, a promo touting daily after-school doses of the Transformers cartoon goes back to the show, with the beginning of the T&J one-reeler "The Truce Hurts."
