hi sadie. usually i’m a quiet watcher but today something important stuck out to me. i’ve noticed how much attention you pay to taking care of your horses and being safe, i love that. i feel like barrel racers have a bad reputation for being risky or not safe with decisions. i noticed in the warmup ring before your first run how many people didn’t have helmets on, were walking around riding their horse while on their phone or ponying a horse in the jam packed arena. although in some circumstances, ponying is safe if they have a well trained horse, but not in this situation. none of this is against you. i’m just making this comment to pay appreciation to your safety and ways of horsemanship. thank you for all you do and please keep up the great work. You really need to trust your horse. He knows what he is doing! Your fear is holding you both back! Perhaps, contacting other jockeys who can help you understand that the fear is very normal for a lot of riders ! You don’t want to stand in the way of your horse’s accomplishments!😊
