KABC hasn't even recevied the new weather graphics that other ABC O&O's have gotten last year and they are still using 2016 graphics. They have the best looking studio and I like their music. KABC 7 LA will get the new graphics this summer or 2025 because their graphics look fine and I prefer it over the new graphics like the text displayed in the bottom.
@@Noahvis4 Both KFSN and KGO used similar graphics to KABC, and both have switched to the O&O since then. I'm surprised KABC is still holding out on the news graphics, but my prediction is that they will switch to the new graphics when they redesign their news set, hopefully by summer. Just my theory. To add to this, I have also seen some of their commercials for syndicated shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in the past couple of months, and they are already using the O&O graphics when they display what time the show will come on the air.
@@GreaterLADashcamactually KABC just received the new weather graphics last Tuesday and it looks similar to other ABC O&O’s, but they use different fonts to show city names and the layout is set-up differently and has different colors.
What’s missing is the live action time and temperature feature along with showing current conditions in the ticker. Yes, ACTION NEWS is iconic. However, ACTION NEWS should consider the life time and temp, plus word ACTION NEWS as I’ve shown… in the font they use in the open and boxes in the tab graphics.
It rolled out partially last year with the conversion of the weather graphics. The rest of the package had to be prepared to ensure that they kept the traditional style and of course the iconic "Move Closer to Your World (Action News Theme)" in place.
It will most likely be in June or in the summer and they haven't even used the new ABC O&O's weather graphics package which they are required to do first like WLS-TV did back in 2022 and KABC 7 Los Angeles graphics is from 2016. I think the reason why it's taking forever is because they are the 2nd largest ABC O&O and they are too busy doing other things on their technology and they have the newest cameras.
@@Noahvis4 I love the ABC Owned TV Stations new graphics from 2023, in which WLS-TV was the first ABC O&O to launched that new graphics on June 13, 2023 in the Chicago area. It rolled out to other ABC-owned stations. The new graphics is as follows: Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, Fresno, CA, Raleigh/Durham, NC, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA and Philadelphia, PA. WPVI-TV was my local ABC-owned station in Philadelphia that retains the December 1994 arrangement of "Move Closer to Your World theme intro. In case of severe weather strikes, 6ABC will still displaying an AccuWeather Alert ticker on the bottom of the screen during a programming with a same 6 beeping noises before ticker appears, along with a radar map. It will soon upgrade to a new AccuWeather Alert ticker that matches the same as the new graphics, with a different font which is Proxima Nova font.
@@cameronyoshi7146I see your point and KABC-TV will receive new weather graphics this summer, but will have a different design since it will be modified to fit the California LA theme and use different colors/font, but same graphics as the other ABC O&O. KABC is getting the customized graphics design package form what I heard on their technical team and they are keeping their theme song music same.
They will need to update the weather graphics first since they are still on 2016 AccuWeather graphics; hence they are still using old ABC logo on some graphics overlays. In addition, they are the flagship O&O station in the West Coast and they have the best cameras and helicopters which are often used. Their technical teams will update graphics starting in May and finalizing it by June from what I heard
@@gavinproduction7433it will and that’s why I told you it will take until late summer or even 2025 since their graphics will look kinda different. I like their old 2016 AccuWeather weather package and their theme music they use for breaking news is better than WLS-TV. KABC is the flagship ABC station in the West Coast and they have the most high end camera equipment and helicopter which is used weekly for following police pursuits.
@@Noahvis4 They already partially adopted the new graphics on their syndicated TV show ads earlier this year, so it seems strange that they didn't convert to the O&O graphics like their Fresno (KFSN) and Bay Area (KGO) counterparts.
@@GreaterLADashcamthey are making the new package a bit different and it has to match up to their theme song opening and they will change the font and they will use different fonts. Besides, their weather package must be updated before the summer since it’s still on the older 2015-2016 AccuWeather package
