I remember when byte started routing this. Thought this category was dead in DE. hopefully it can gain some more traction now. Regular DE 100 % UN is awesome too but this is the ultimate run imo
It's hard for DE to gain traction in general. The amount of skill needed to run the 100% route is unbelievable. When you watch this speed run you know there are only a handful of people who can even keep up with it in the entire world. Theres so many variables that can influence your run. I dont see many people being able to compete on this level. It's absolutely crazy.
@@mathiasb2616 it’s crazy because a lot of the tactics are similar to regular runs with mastery tokens. Yet there’s an entirely new layer that needs to be added in order to forget the tokens, but also still collect them and be aware of your actual weapon mastery. Ridiculous levels of skill
usually i'm not terribly impressed with speed running in games, it usually feels like just rote memorization and sheer number of attempts - but this is kind of really impressive. It's too large of a game to get away with not pretty much playing it, just stupidly fast. makes me wonder if he's better than guys like zeromaster if he plays to blow up big demons
This was nuts! Although as one of your watchers said in chat, the weapon mastery requirements are insane. You have to complete eight of them on the final map. In the previous game It's just two small ones I was surprised though that fast travel was allowed for the restricted category
Restricted, unrestricted, limited, it's all about ruling out or including glitches/exploits, not actual games mechanics, fast travel is allowed by the game so there's no surprise here :^) All in all it's the reward for reaching the end of the level and allowing the player to go back and explore more of the level. Naturally it became an interesting tool for routing and optimizing the speedrun
When he lost a minute at the beginning I wondered how he’d recover. Then he consecutively took off at least 3-5 minutes every single level. I’ve never seen a 12 minute gold before. That’s absolutely ridiculous. Well. Frickin. Done.
