This type of act seems safe but gets dangerous quickly. There is a reason that there are minimum distance laws in most (if not all) states. Simple things like another boat coming along, which could force a crash. Jet skiers are the most adiodic, dangerous, and hated people on the water. So many people die from jet skiing every year, and it has nothing to do with the jetski itself. People think that because a jetski is nimble, you can get close and ride peoples wakes, but don't think of extremes. What about waterskiiers who could have fallen and you don't see? What if the other boat has to turn, or what if they are drunk? These are just a few of hundreds of reasons why you shouldn't get close to other boats. I grew up on a sailboat and have been on the water my whole life, and when I say the most important law is the (in my location at least) 300ft law, I mean it. So much can happen out there. Especially on crowded lakes in the summer.
He dufus throwing the can threw it to far ahead of the guy that was on the surfboard. He definitely won't be getting any contract for any football team
