Reuploaded because RU-vid fucking sucks and somehow corrupted the previous video even though it played fine for 2 weeks. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

yeah they can really mess up, specially if their internal servers have to convert the original source material into their preferred codecs first

Well done mate! Really nice video! Ah.. so many memories... I used to play this game 22 years ago and it seemed pretty much impissible then. Eventually i found a scripted walkthrough and managed to finish it. Your work would be of paramount importance for my 22-year-younger self had there been youtube back then! :-D Good job again!

Stumbled across this gem of a speed-run the other day. I LOVED this game back when it first came out and had fond memories of 9 year old me playing it on my potato PC! I've never been able to get it running on my latest computer - I'm curious, how do you get it running so well?

The digital releases of the game on GOG.com or Steam are patched up to work out of the box on modern systems. For the original CD version, you'll have to hunt around the internet for a DirectX 6 to DirectX 9 wrappers like dgVoodoo 2, DXwnd or others

I remember "back in the day" (read, before the steam/gog release) you had to run windows media player in the background and it would just work. No clue why, but it just did.

Why aren't you allowed to use Quick saves in il speedruns?

How do you do the Babylon Skip I can't find the spot were you jump

It's very precise. I make it look so much easier than it is in the video. You wanna stand in the exact same distance from the wall as I did in the video and be at the very edge of the platform. Then run against the wall and when you're one tile away from it, you tap the left arrow key and jump and Indy should bounce from the slope and grab the ledge. If he refuses to jump, it means you are turning left too late.

2:47:56 how do you do that jump i just can't do it?

You need to jump from the very top of that small hill and your angle against the wall must be very small so that Indy can grab the ledge. The jump is way easier on the N64 because Indy has a much more forgiving grab range in that version.

About the machine gun... I maybe saw a solution for the bug. If you go into the settings and set the game to double buffering it works. Well at least it doesnt crash anymore when I run it. But you have to set it everytime you boot the game :/ not sure how it affects your speedrun.

H - it's just a hotkey for using medkits so you need to have some in your inventory.

I don't really know how the skip works so the only advice I can give you is to line up exactly as I do in the video at the very edge of the platform and then do a forwards running jump in the same direction as I.
