We are wrapping up some projects since both of our homeschool co-ops ended this week. As our school year winds down and we put some things away, the learning doesn't stop here. It pivots and we move on to other types of learning.

I would really love some tips on how you manage your days, between planning/making meals, and schooling and housework, and how you fit everything into your days. Also, I'd be interested in some more simple go-to meals to make during the week as well. Thank you for sharing your lovely home life with us, and for reminding us to slow down and enjoy the simple life. You make it look so easy. 🖤

Thank you so much! It's really nice to hear feedback and I'm glad my videos have encouraged you! That's a hard question to answer in one reply. I think I hit on some of that here and there in a lot of my videos. I am not a super organized person, but we have a basic routine that we have followed for years. 1. Morning Time 2. Chores 3. Independent Work 4.Read aloud Other than that, I keep a to-do list, do a load or two of laundry every day, keep meat defrosted so I always have meals, etc. Although I try to be as honest/transparent as possible, YT only shows 20 min. a week of our life so there's a lot that it doesn't show. We have all the same struggles and challenges that everyone has. But I do love homeschooling and hope that these short glimpses into our home encourage some moms. I am hoping to do a video on a week of our homeschool meals, so be on the lookout for that!

Okay but that cat being pushed on the stroller is just cat owner goals. She looks so much like my tabby but she’d just jump off and take off if that was her.

I would love to learn more about veritas history! I am trying to find a good family style history for me to start next year with my four children ages 15 to 8.

I've thought about doing a Veritas Press Self-paced History review for a video...maybe one day I will. If you are looking for a family style history, I'm not sure it's best for that. That's not how I use it, however, I'm sure you could make it that if you wanted to. The kids do the lessons online on their own. We sing the song together. Also, VP lists excellent book suggestions to read along with what they are learning, so in that way, it could still be a good family style curriculum. I love it because it's one subject that I can outsource and I think they do a very good job. The kids have learned so much from them. Here's the link. They usually have a spring and fall sale, but the spring sale just ended. You can get a two week free trial. Here's the link. veritaspress.com/selfpaced/history

Our Texas family of 11 does year round homeschooling, but we take multiple breaks throughout the year especially if we are expecting a new little one, which occurs somewhat frequently. 😂😂 It is so helpful to see how other moms are making it all work in different ways and we can glean from each other. The Lord may lead me to a season in my life where we could take the summer breaks. That looks lovely. Thanks for a peek into your homeschooling life! God be with you. ❤️🙏🏻

Hello. I was wondering if you will be updating the Morning Routine Binder for 2024/2025 school year? Is this suitable for all grades? My daughter will be going into the 7th so I was wondering if she might be a little farther along since your kiddies appear to be younger. I know, so many questions, sorry about that. Thank you and your family is so lovely. That kitty being pushed around made me giggle.

Yes! I plan to put together a Simple Morning Time Notebook 2024-2025 in the next month or so and I will definitely be sharing that on here! I show more of my younger kids in this video, but we have middle and high schoolers as well. My 10th and 11th graders sit in for much of Morning Time, especially Bible memory, Shakespeare stories, current events, memory work, poetry, hymn study...well most of it actually.

I'd like to actually hear the kids' voices from time to time at least. Not every video needs to be a voice over. Other than that, you're doing a great job. Keep up the hard work. God bless. Hoping all your kids pass the grade they are in.

Great question! We don't do a formal morning time, but I will probably still read the Bible to my little ones (the nonreaders) and watch World Watch with whoever is here for breakfast. Hymn study (bedtime routine) and Bible reading (dinner) are both built into our family routines. I do try to read aloud a chapter book to the kids during nap time, but it's hit and miss, depending on who is here and what we have going on. Quiet time is about the same for us as during the school year. Our little kids nap and everyone else works on something quiet... usually baking, drawing, building, outside play....whatever they want to do. The idea is quiet in the house, go outside if you want to be rowdy. Our garden, taking care of our animals, preserving food, and doing fun projects (home decor, crafts, business ideas, etc. ) replace our book work. I am really looking forward to it all!

What advice do you have for finishing the year? My daughter is in ninth garage t and it's been a really rough year with things going on and a general lack of motivation from her. She's about halfway through her curriculum at this point and we started in September. Would you stop and take a summer break, continuing on into tenth grade or would you work through the summer to catch up?

What type of stroller to do have??

It's an ancient Phil and Teds stroller. It's probably 10 years old, ha! We're due for an upgrade!
