So Superman can be with Lois, Nightwing can be with Oracle, Flash can be with Linda, Green Arrow can be with Black Canary, but Batman can’t be with Catwoman? Dc is weirdly selective when it comes to which heroes can have a stable and happy relationship.

They maintain relationships in continuity. They just like to shake it up a bit and do on-off, break up then reunite, kill off then resurrect, and switch things up a bit because they either get bored or think it'll spice up a storyline. With Batman and Catwoman, it's simple: 1) Batman has been around for 8 decades and they don't want to fully commit to the idea of him being married or having a woman in his life for good after establishing him as a perpetual bachelor for so long. 2) They don't like the idea of Batman, the character, having reasons to be truly happy. The Bat family is good for keeping him somewhat grounded, but a wife is different. DC doesn't want a content, satisfied Bruce Wayne with a nice home life and healthy relationships. They want Batman to always be dark, psychologically tormented, aloof, brooding, and married to crime fighting.

It's nice but the whole “no happy ending but happy moments thing.” is cringeworthy garbage that enforces the writer's constant character regression wanting not to keep them together permanently for no reason. Dc writers suck. And your hc is kinda not even accurate to them? They were very ready and committed, but writers be writers. It’s backwards thinking to just accept this garbage, its why ASM is failing where USM is succeeding he’ll it’s even outselling ASM. It’s why every mj replacement such as Carlie cooper failed. It doesn't make sense. These characters are too important to each other to constantly be split.

Batman and Catwoman have always been close but not fully committed or definitively a couple until the 21st century. The DC writers need to cut the crap, quit playing this "will they or won't they?" and just do it. The problem is that comic book writers can never give Batman anything that'd make his life TOO nice. For DC and their creative direction for him, he always has to be suffering somehow and aloof. He has the Bat family, but a romantic partner is something more than that. The writers always seem to want to give Batman just enough in his personal life to keep him somewhat grounded, but they always want him to be teetering on the edge. In the writers' minds, he can never be allowed too much happiness, too much satisfaction, too much love, and too strong a support system. They want to keep his story dark, brooding, and somewhat depressing. I'd love to see Bruce and Selina together, but that means DC will have to allow Batman to be happy. They don't want that for too long. They'd probably marry Bruce and Selina, but then kill her off a few months later.
