It would be sad to see WRC devolve into yet another customer racing series. WRC just needs to tweak the rally1 regs to attract more manufacturers and allow non-hybrid cars, which I think they're already working on.
@@jurajsromek2699 Agreed. They should add a little bit more power (like 315-320 hp) and its done for me. Probably with that way, cars will perform like 2013-2017 era WRC cars but if it means more manufacturer and more entertainment, im absolutely down!
@@jurajsromek2699 yup could be but think at the end of the 90s we had kit car cars were faster than wrc, subaru, lancer etc, and wrc in that period was amazing and were not super cars with a lot downforce
Thanks for posting this!!! I love Rally2/R5 cars 😍, one of my favourite class nowadays, and the only one I follow in WRC. The Toyota Yaris sounds amazing, the best sounding Rally 2 car in my opinion.
These are the WRC cars I am used to seeing. The top class vehicles are too radical looking IMO. WRC2 vehicles look more like the WRC vehicles from back in the early 2000s.
i never noticed until hearing it alongside the polo, that the new fabia RS sounds so much more muscular and alive than the old rally2 evo and that alongside the yaris will make rally2 even more enjoyable to watch
thank you for doing a separate video for Rally2!! I love this class, the variety of shapes and sounds is amazing. Question: what did the radar guns show as top speed for these cars?
No worries! Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the speed of any Rally2 car. To tell the truth, I wasn't able to get it for 97% of the cars.. I had to place the tripod on the side of the road as quickly as possible because the gendarmes had already started yelling at me as soon as I get closer to the road. Therefore in a hurry to place it and as the zip ties I used to attach the radar to the tripod weren't very tight, it slowly moved pointing upwards and no longer towards the road as time went by. It only managed to record the speeds of the first two Rallly1 cars. It was a first attempt and I now know what I have to improve and change for the next time ;)
But there's no mid-season car development in WRC2 and the cars are not as exciting. I think an implementation of balance of performance within rally1 is more likely than it getting axed completely.
I hope these cars, even if slightly upgraded to Rally2 Plus, will NEVER replace current Rally1 class... They are nowhere near as exciting to watch as the current Rally1 cars... I understand it would provide more competition, more teams etc, but if I want to watch Rally2 or similar I can go to a national rally event... If I'm going for a WRC Event, even if we currently only have 8x Rally1 cars, I still rather watch that, than for example 16x Rally2 Plus cars...
