Contact cement needs BOTH surfaces coated and let dry until no transfer when touched. Then they will stick very well. Very strong bond.

Contact cement read the instructions and paint both side, let tack, then install.

FYI - you can quickly cut that tubing on a regular wood chop saw with a standard carbide blade.

A wood miter saw is the best to cut aluminum tubing!......

Ivan you probably should have took a roller and rolled out those cover sheets with thick glue behind the panels and roll them out flat all over to make sure panels stick .

What’s scary for me being from the UK is the materials RV manufacturers use in the construction of the vehicles, lightweight box tubing and plywood sheets. Wouldn’t want to be in a collision with one of these. Fantastic build tho, great work by Ivan as per usual 👍

Still looking at the damage on the cab frame door side, looks to be pushed in and yes New panels Hide a lot of Damage but should be repaired and not covered up and that front chassis Rail needs to be repaired or replaced lol :) Just a old panel beater saying lol.

When your cutting the aluminum tubing and such just use a battery powered circular saw with standard blade as it cuts clean and fast! Pretty sure your shielding gas was set too low or not Argon as the welds were too smutty should be much cleaner when right.

Lots of work but looking good. Hope the glue is non saleable and won't delaminate like alot of motorhomes do.

The side panels are not glued well enough or braced - big air bubble where there are no clamps - this will fail!!! - physics.

The glue you want to use is Stabond 183. It is spray gunned to both surfaces (plywood to filon), and adheres instantly.

Great job on the rv - with all the work you do outside why don’t you have the entire area coved with stone so that the red soil doesn’t get all lover everything and also getting ride of the low spots when it rains I think it would be a better area for you

You need pure argon for welding aluminum the welds will be clean

Is that board weather proof. How are you going to make it weather proof? Laminate usually don’t like moisture or being exposed to moisture. Laminate usually warp or deteriorate exposed to moisture.

So this aluminum tubing and some ply wood should protect you ? From what exactly ? These campers look nice on the outside, but very flimsy when you take a good look. Would not want to be in an accident with them. Btw backside of that wood panel has no protection against water and moist ? Why not ?

Oh my god lol do rv's really have plywood body panels?...I did see this guy glue some type of plastic sheet to the outside but I'm freaking out because I had an RV similar to the 1 he is working on in this video and it wasn't cheap so I sure won't be purchasing another RV of this type if manufacturers are making the body panels out of essentially laminated plywood...That's so cheap And won't it rot if moisture contacts the wood?

Still haven’t disabled, those smoke detectors!!! What happened why didn’t that piece of siding go all the way to the slide out on the driver side? Do you ever answer peoples comments in this forum? Glad you guys put out the contant, but you could do a better job sometimes.

Sorry guys! There are so many things wrong with this entire job. First one is that frame is still bent. And that front crash bar is still bent as well. I can guarantee that frame still has a sway to it. Second is the plywood. It’s all supposed to be laminated. The styrofoam in the wall is part of the strength. You only glued the frame side. You need to glue both sides. Same for the skin. All that work is going to fall off. Sorry. But this one is not going to be right when done! I would be afraid to drive it on the road! There is totaled for monetary value and for safety. This RV falls under both! Who knows what else has broken free. It’s possible half the house mounting points are compromised. Lots of hidden issues I would want nothing to do with.

Those RVs are made of Crap. Very Shocking how expensive they are considering they are essentially made of match sticks, bubble wrap, foam and a prayer.

Rv’s are cheap make, I once owned one and I should know,

These guys are crazy not wearing proper safety equipment especially safety glasses while cutting metal! They’ll soon learn when they have to have a piece of steel shard removed from their eyeball!
