Not as interesting, channel as it used to be. The major complaint, seems to be the fabricating!!! The fabricating , used to be on vehicles…. Now, it appears to be ALL ABOUT ANYTHING BUT fabricating on vehicles.. More into fabricating VIDEOS.. I suppose that’s where the money is… In the video arena.. CEE out of AUSTRALIA, has fabrication and machinist Fixin on projects. So, I skip over the fluff, and go to channels that do the fabrication on vehicles first, videos second. 😢

I spent the early 1990s with my then (now late) wife getting thrown around on off road trails in a SWB FJ40. We'd sing along with Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel and ACCA DACCA at the tops of our lungs! Paul does seem to be a great teacher. Wish I could find someone with that patience and attitude to teach my oldest to drive. She's 24 with extreme anxiety and limited time to learn. I've been trying to teach her but we are like oil and water at times.
@hermione6830
@hermione6830 11 месяцев назад
@rollinrat4850 Thanks rollinrat. So far we do the empty part of the mall parking lot, or the whole thing after close and a nearby park. Unfortunately where we live there is nothing but traffic. I grew up in the country but there's nothing similar around here. She does really good with what we've done, but she's gonna have to do traffic at some point. With her anxiety and other issues she doesn't always take direction from a parent well. Someone else she would be less "rude".
@hermione6830
@hermione6830 11 месяцев назад
@rollinrat4850 LOL. We usually use my car (2016 kia sportage) but in feb she bought herself a 2022 mazda. We use both for learning. Most of the driving schools here use the students car and her work hours don't give her a lot of time during their "hours of operation" to schedule lessons, and her work schedule tends to change without notice. At almost $200 for a 90 minute lesson it's not cheap. Her husband was supposed to be helping teach her but well we won't go into my opinion of him, and they have a 2yr old. Things get complicated fast.
@hermione6830
@hermione6830 11 месяцев назад
@rollinrat4850 She's very careful when she does drive. She just gets hit with the anxiety due to all the rampant idiots and that's not good. I would love for her to be able to learn out in the middle of nowhere like I did, just nothing even remotely uncongested anywhere near us. We will work on slow and steady. Just wish I could find someone with Paul's patience to help out. I'll keep checking out the local driving schools and we will see what we can get done. Really considering buying her a used military humvee, lol, inconsiderate jerks can move or get run over. Anyway, thanks for the chat.

Great video All! Paul: "you can worry a thing to death." & "It'll be fine!" I'm sure Hunter thought Paul was crazy to take him out on this trip in an unproven vehicle. Not sure if this was a shake down cruise or a shake-up cruise. I think it was great that Clayton came on the trip with Hunter. They seem well suited. Clayton isn't overbearing as some parents can be and Hunter is respectful--until the bantering starts! But he doesn't take it too far. What great scenery! I've been to Yosemite and vicinity and it was great. The only problem with the scenery in California is--it's in California. But it sure is beautiful!!

It is amazing.. Hunter stilllll...... has NOT learnt the meaning of SLOW......... does he know how to use the brake or take the foot OFF the go fast pedal?.... Geez kid you're gonna learn how quickly to empty your wallet and bank account if you keep going like this... hahaha... well at least it will make good Fab Rats content going forward..... hahhahahaaaaaaaaaa The other thing I think you should have done is put someone behind Hunter for Tail End Charlie so that you know when he breaks something or has to winch etc... lol It would have saved Paul looking backwards all the time ..... hahahahaaaaaaa.... I must say, I did love the karaoke going on in the FJ on day 2 ... lol.

What a great video! Next to the Rubicon Trail you guys did a couple of years back, this is my favorite off-roading video you've done. The editing was superb allowing us to see the beauty of the area and also to inject some humor in appropriate places. Hunter is very fortunate to have Paul and Merlin on his team to teach him the ins and outs of off-roading. He did a fantastic job for his first time! Now to get his Jeep more trail worthy and he'll become a trail master! Keep up the great work Fab Rats! Can't wait for the next video.

Best adventure this year! Kudos to Hunter for doing such an amazing job! Now we all know where Hunter's tongue thing comes from; it's so cute. Your (extended) family trip looks like you all had the time of your lives, so to say.

That was a great catch, both doing the tongue swirl almost together in one driving scene.

Gotta be careful with that. A guy in our jeep club almost but through his tongue after slaming down on a rock. Blood everywhere it was brutal

If I've ever seen a better video I can't remember it. This was awesome. Big props to Hunter+Clayton for wrestling that stock suspension through to the end. We really smiled as the shots went back+forth between Michelle+Paul singing and the red jeep boys fighting every bump. Good stuff. FabRats rules!

I have zero understanding of Utah off-roading. But this looked so fun I thought about buying a jeep. The emotion passed but you need to keep this entertainment up. It will keep me from doing something silly. Hunter is a good,member of your team.

Hunter, bring dad along more often, easy to see where you get your charm. And he doesn’t sing while you’re being brutalized by boulders, Poor Paul
