I’ve been a Plumber/Gas engineer for 35 years. I’ve owned numerous brands of adjustable spanners. My all time favourites are the Bahco wide jaw and slim wide jaw range. The Knurled adjustment screw has more points of contact with the jaw. After Years of daily use, the opening measurements are unreadable. However I’ve never actually used them, you put it on a nut and adjust until it fits.

A common problem on these with the rubber / plastic grips, and same with ratchets with the rubber / plastic handles, is that if you put heavy use to them, the rubber/plastic handles will either come loose or fall off completely....however, the Bacho ones are the only ones where I have not experienced this happening (and I have not exactly been kind to mine. Depending on what profession one has and what one is working on, I personally don't think an adjustable wrench should ever replace a proper wrench set.....I am not going to get into too many specific reasons as to why, but working on a machine theres really no replacement for a proper wrench set as well as a ratchet and socket set....of course if you are a plumber or HVAC guy an adjustable wrench and maybe wrench pliers are likely all you will need....but again it depends on what one is working on.

I’m actually interested in hearing your thoughts on adjustable wrenches vs ratchet/socket, and if you had experience with it, compared to Plier wrenches (like knipex or icon)

I use my adjustable wrenches for fittings which often have oddsized or cast(not machined) flats. Also, I couldn't possibly keep a full set of box wrenches that large for all the fittings I need to grip. Biggest box wrench on my van is 1-1/8" I think. I am a plumber.

Have at least 30 bahco variations ,mostly Swedish made. I take a Swedish bahco over all manufacturer on the market!

That bahco looks identical to a snap on, other than the finish

Nice presentation. I use irega, they are definitely better. I have interesting models. I will upload a video of mine and tell me what you think about other irega models. Greetings from Bulgaria.

I like the Irega's as well. The satin chrome also adds corrosion protection

The widemouth wrenches are a specialty product that is useful for home plumbing projects but not so useful for other use such as automotive use because the larger head is harder to fit into some places. I don't find that the plastic handle adds much to the usefulness of the wrench. I've used conventional wrenches with thin handles on very tight fasteners without any problem, only rarely was the thin handle a comfort issue. I would rather have just the metal handle because it is easier to clean.

I like the bacho feels great in the hand works great but can't close them all the way. Cause the stupid adjustment rod hangs on everything not a good pocket carry. I should of bought the channel lock.

Bahco are an extremely well designed and manufactured well known worldwide brand. Channel lock is a US brand. Not really a "Clash of the Titans".

Thanks for watching and commenting. In this case it is because it's Irega vs Iremo (Bahco) so it is a "clash of the titans"
