You said Ric Flair's contract expired but I'm pretty sure he was fired over creative differences when he famously rejected Jim Herd's proposal of cutting his hair and changing his name to Spartacus.
Maybe or have it where it can only be won in European Countries or won only by European Wrestlers at least that would make it sand out and be different
i forgot all about that one! that's a Beautiful championship imagine it on any other wrestler, like bret hart or savage, it be like big gold to them XD , i still would be curious to see the unused ECW title though
3:15 he made it look similar to the old 1980’s version of the WWF Intercontinental Title. The one Randy Savage, Kerry Von Erich, Mr Perfect, etc held.
Usage of the Hogan ‘86 Belt was discontinued because Hogan complained the top half it would constantly dig into his abdomen when he wore it. So they reverted back to the previous design and no one was the wiser.
I had a chance to see the Rock's unused Brahma Bull championship belt on display during a Summerslam fan event before one of the LA shows, sometime in the early-2010s. It's honestly a beautiful title, I just think they could've done without the lightning accents on the face plate. The red in the eyes and the blowing smoke worked perfectly.
There was a huge heavyweight title belt designed specifically for Andre the Giant, if he decided not to lose at Wrestlemania III (he was so big and strong that if he decided he didn't want to lose, there was nothing anyone could do anything about it). Of course, it wasn't needed.
4:34 Bro. I always thought the tag titles were ugly af but those name plates actually make me like them.
There was a moment years back when the draft ended and Raw at the time had both Champions on their show, the Smackdown decided to make their own Heavyweight Champion. I remember that they were about to reveal it then all of a sudden the current Heavyweight Champion switched to be on Smackdown. I believe they were naming it something like The Smackdown Heavyweight Champion.
Before you said anything about the NXT title that belt made me think of a gold version of the TNA NWA X division belt which had a big X like that in the middle with a red X they probably would have been sued but they probably would’ve brought that old belt up and might have had a leg to stand on
7:35 you’re absolutely right, it does lack the filler that would make it whole but I love this design. I could go either way with the giant WWE logo that they love. I hate calling certain years in wrestling an “era” but this has to be from the infancy of the Ruthless Aggression era due to the logo. It’s the old scratch WWF logo which they kept for a bit after they changed to the WWE. Which to be honest I wish they would’ve never changed their name and kept it WWF. A lot of people don’t know that lawsuit was just for the UK. They only had to go by something else there but instead they decided to rebrand the whole company. They should’ve kept the WWF name, it was a much cooler abbreviation in my book.
I'm mad as hell TNA actually had that beautiful world television championship belt and they never used it in TNA didn't have an international championship but they did have a a global championship which was essentially the same belt that was used for the Legends championship and the TV titles people would have taken that TV title more seriously if they had used a different title instead of repurposing the Legends championship
7:31 I'd still choose this I.C Championship over the current one. Although I'd prefer the 90s I.C Championship with the modern WWE logo but not massively intruding like most of them are now.
I miss the old WWF European championship belt, and the early 1990's Intercontinental belt. That unused IC belt probably would have worked well in the 2000s.
@@viktorriquelme3735 I really think that would have worked. It had that late 1990's quality that ECW was able to use well and looked absolutely ridiculous in WCW.
4:55 I liked the title Hogan had before the winged eagle but I would’ve preferred this title over that one.
I like to belts with some unique shapes to them. I don't understand the perfect circle. The late 80's to early 90's was the best time for belt designs in WWF, for all 3 titles.
Not quite right about the big gold. Jim Crockett was the backer of getting that belt made and he is the one who vetoed having it say NWA, as many assumed he saw JCP leaving the NWA at some point. The NWA board was not involved with getting the belt made.
Honorable mention should go to Andre the Giant The WWE was planning on debuting a new title at the main event Show featuring The Night Andre beat Hulk Hogan. The winged Eagle Title made its debut that night. In fact earlier on in the night Hogan can be seen in the promo packages and interviews with the old title. But came out with the new winged Eagle Title It was slated that they were going to have a custom title for Andre that would better fit him then the new winged eagle title. If you look back at that match and you see Andre with the new title on his shoulder it looks like a toy belt. So this new title was made and was supposed to be awarded to Andre. There are photos of the title around the internet and there is a TV spot where the title is in the foreground sitting on a table in front of a panel who are talking. I believe it may have been the lead up to the main event show but the title never made it to TV or to Andre
The Hogan belt would have been great, if it didn't have his ugly mug in the dead center! I'm biased towards the European title as my favorite undercard title ever, so any reimagining that looks like this one is great in my book.
Different ecw title. The one you are thinking of was also in that case but the one he was referring to had the side plates visible toward the bottom left and looked like diamond plate or interlocking chain. 2 of the side plates are visible and that’s all anyone has seen of it. It’s the one belt in that pile you won’t recognize.
Make A New Video: "Wrestling Belts That Never Should've Made It To TV" featuring the ATROCIOUS Network Logo of WWE, post Summerslam 2014 ***The Ruthless Aggression United States Championship and Classic Intercontinental Championship Belts will not be mentioned in that video.
