Wrestling Promotions That FELL OFF 

There's something historically poetic about the final champion of a Lucha promotion being a washed-up American.

Lucha Underground was really fun. I loved the design of the Gift of the Gods title ad the overall concept, and I also liked their overhead camera above the ring. The Lucha Brothers’ promotion Republic of Lucha is actually gonna be at the original Temple (from seasons 1-3) for a show in June by the way. WSX also had more than 10 TV episodes. There were 10 web-exclusive episodes for WSXtra, which were filmed either before or after the respective episode (I don’t remember exactly). It’s basically like how OG AEW Dark was taped with Dynamite. However, the matches aren’t rushed. It was more of the match in entirety instead of it being edited for TV time. For the second season, they also teased an X Division-like title with Human Tornado and Jack Evans being the top contenders as well as a tag title, but all of that obviously never happened.

Lucha Underground was great for what it was I kinda miss it

I’ve only seen clips of Lucha Underground and I was blown away from some of stuff I saw. Especially from Prince Puma aka Ricochet

No mention of the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance? Started by an old friend, Joel Goodhart in Philadelphia it featured wrestlers like Cactus Jack, David Sammartino, Bam Bam Bigelew, JYD, Larry Zbyszko, Kerry Von Erich, Jerry Lawlor and featured matches like a taped fist-first blood match, audience participation lumberjack match among others. It lasted only 2 years before Joel's partner Todd Gordon bought him out and renamed it Eastern Championship Wrestling which eventually morphed into Extreme Championship Wrestling.

Paragon Pro Wrestling was a pro wrestling company in Las Vegas that taped shows in Sam's Place where ROH later filmed pre Tony Khan They had some pretty good wrestlers but didn't last long

A few ways of how to save Lucha Underground is working with NJPW and DDT but sadly it was too late.

Something not mentioned here is that Wrestling Society X used some former XPW Talent, such as "The Rock Superstar" Kaos, Ryan Katz (a.k.a. GQ Money), Altar Boy Luke (a.k.a. Luke Hawx) former XPW lead announcer Kris Kloss (sadly without Larry Rivera) as well as former XPW producer Kevin Kleinrock at the helm, once again producing, aswell as being co-creator and booker of WSX.

I always saw Lucha Underground as a hybrid of Wrestling Society X and MTV's other lesser known failed wrestling tv show Lucha Libre USA

The main problem with WOS was that it was funded under Drama rather than Sport, so the budget they had and ratings they needed were different. So ITV screwed the pooch straight away
