They need to do a home and away series against Inter Miami. Bringing a big name like Messi (if he actually plays lol) to Wrexham would draw a huge crowd in. Whether you love or hate Messi, you have to respect his talent. Potentially making good revenue for the city and the club.
Ok for brand building in N America but this had better not screw up the team's prep for the start of the EFL League One season like it did with the last one - and I'm not even referring to Mullin's lung = rib injury.
That brand building is essential to being able to afford League One. Also, SPM injury could have happened anywhere. US location had absolutely no bearing.
@LOSTshowfan that's why I specifically said it wasn't about Mullin's injury! Injuries can happen wherever we play eg Christian Dibble picking up a bad knee injury in a friendly at Caernarfon the week before the league starting in Aug 2022. I fully appreciate the need for currying worldwide fans' dollars, it is just that this year the club must factor in a proper pre-season for the team. It's no good having half the squad in North America with the other half in North Wales then expect them to suddenly gel in a short period together before the season starts.
They are staying on the west coast to minimize travel and keep the team as fresh as possible before the new season starts. As for their Canadian game, do you think Americans are their only fans. They are creating an international brand, not an American brand. Think before you type.
Football isn't just a British sport, mate. It's a world-wide sport. Only cringe I see is you with your comment. Be glad these owners are working hard to build the brand and overall help EFL.
