Hey y'all! Excited to talk about this-TBH, I've never really "packaged" it this way before until I realized what I was doing, so I gave the formula a name. :) Does your about page get a lot of traffic, too??
Ashlyn Writes I *had* to go read your about page because of this video, and I can't believe we are the same Meyers Briggs, and even crazier our husbands are the same TOO! They say opposites attract, I guess it's true 😆
You have the largest eyes I have ever seen. Obviously you are very pretty, and large eyes are considered a marker of beauty. Fortunately I can just run the tab in the background and look elsewhere but yeah, biggest eyes ever, since it's a video not a still image i presume its' not some magic photoshop filter. And no, I'm not squinting. I always look like this.
LOVED what you said in how to let people know they are in the right place GOLDEN NUGGET. I had been dragging my feet in getting my about page done and you inspired me to finally complete it!
I was redesigning my website, and just couldn't think of how I wanted to word my About page section of my site. But I knew it was ultra important to put it together well. You helped me come up with something that I think works for now. I 'mostly' used your template/outline that you spoke about in this video, and I was able to write something that I think encapsulates who I am and what I do professionally on my website. I'm very greatful for your suggestion that you gave to everyone, it helped me put everything in perspective! - Dana
Dana! Gosh, friend, thank you so much for your kind words & support! I'm so glad this outline helped you craft an about page that "encapsulates" who you are! Let me know if you have any other questions along the way, ok?? xx. Ash
Thank you so much for these incredible tips. I had a basic speaker bio "about me" draft and after watching this, I will definitely implement the ARTIST steps!
I just found you and I believe you are going to be one of my best finds in mentoring and coaching of the year! I appreciate all your advice and looking forward to working with you soon! Oh and I never leave comments, but had too!
Gosh, Noha, thanks so much for your kind words! My #1 goal is to create content that is helpful and doesn't waste anyone's time! :) Cheering you on, friend!
heck yes! thank you so much. i am working on buildling my women's health business, and after seeing you on balanced bombshell's recent features, I finally feel like I can begin to do this.
Just an all-round excellent video! I used this to help design the about us page for my e-commerce store. Not everything applied or just needed tweaking for a store rather than creative, but was still very helpful! Many thanks, Ashlyn
This is just what I needed to see today as I'm preparing to launch my blog for my professional website next week. Thank you, dear Ashlyn!! Always spot on! Elena x
I was telling someone on my team today how you always pop up in different spots on the internet to cheer me on, and it means the world-excited for you, Elena!!
Thank you so much for all this incredible content, Ashlyn! I've just started a photography business and am blown away by everything that i need to learn in order to succeed. You are such a huge help!!!
Hi Ashlyn, thanks for this video. It really helped a lot figure out what I should write in the (not) about me page. Yet, I am afraid that all the resources your provided, your templates and blog posts, turned out 404!
Noha! As it turns out, some of our links are down at the moment. If you send an email over to Mckenzie on my team (hello@ashlynwrites.com) we will send it straight to your inbox! :)
Hy Ashlyn! I've been devouring your content it is so rich! Thank you! What do I do when my about page is speaking to two different audiences w/two different problems? Should I just choose one audience? I photograph weddings and families. I want to move soley into shooting families (I want to quit weddings). Should I just start gearing my language to the moms?
Hey Kristen-thanks so much for your sweet encouragement! Having two audiences can put you in a real pickle sometimes, I get it. I used to have two audiences, too. Buttt I'd say let your about page speak to your full audience by rooting down in why you do what you do, go a bit broader with the problems you're able to solve for ALL your client. Since you're moving away from weddings maybe just limit the wedding specific language and say things that are more general like "capturing life's most special moments and milestones" etc. Something like that? Does that help? xx. Ash
I'm struggling with my about me headline so much! I'm a real estate agent and I can't discriminate on who I work with! The clients that usually hires me as their agent are busy moms but I don't think I can outright say that!
Hi Ashlyn, Thanks so much for this, it's really helpful. I do have a question. What if you're just starting out? Alot of what you said in here is based on people who already have customers. Especially in the illustrate part where you say Recommendations, endorsements and testimonies. I'm just starting my menswear line and I haven't built up my client list yet so I have none of those to speak of yet. What is your suggestion? Thank you for your time...
Hey, RL! ABSOLUTELY ... I think every time we go through Copywriting for Creatives with my students, I get asked this. Great question, totally normal. I would do 2 things: 1) work on (hopefully bc you see now how important that social proof is) getting those recommendations/endorsements/testimonials RIGHT outta the gate. Like, yesterday. Whether you can beta test a line, send out some samples and ask for feedback, send some early product off to influencers and ask for feedback, etc. ... go for it. I would for the time being put in some peer testimonials about how easy you are to work with, how you care so much, have that killer eye for line, whatever it is, can you let me hear from ANYONE else how much of a stud you are.
Hi friend! As it turns out, a handful of our links are down at the moment. Can you email McKenzie on my team (hello@ashlynwrites.com) and we can send it straight to your inbox!? Thanks so much!
Shyvonnes! Can you shoot an email over to Rach on my team (support@ashlynwrites.com)?? She's the *best* at navigating these tech issues & can send it straight to your inbox! Thanks for your patience buddy! :)
Hi There, I tried to download the 13 headlines doc, but when I opened the link it said I already had it sent to me. Is there a way to update the link or find it a different way?
Maria! It means the world you'd think of me, friend! :) You can find all the services my team and I offer here: ashlynwrites.com/work-with-me . Let me know if something looks like a good fit! xx.
Thanks for the heads up, Robert! We will get this fixed ASAP. In the meantime, if you send an email over to hello@ashlynwrites.com we will send this freebie straight to your inbox! :)
Thanks for your patience, bud! As it turns out, some of our links are down at the moment. If you send an email over to support@ashlynwrite.com we will send it straight to your inbox! I hope this helps!
Hey, Lynn! Still follow the A - Attn getting headline, R - Reassurance they're in the right place, and when it comes to the T - Track record, talk up what you HAVE done that proves you're worth the hire. I was telling someone last week my "evidence" when I first started was in a different industry-I'd done marketing work, but only for corporate clients. No small, creative businesses. So, I used that and QUICKLY worked to replace it with target audience evidence. I'll try to do a live or video or something on how to do this ... think about it like the like the paperclip trade story (www.supermoney.com/red-paperclip-for-a-house/). Bit by bit, trade up your reviews and testimonials, and you'll get there. Does that help?
