In this video, I will show how to write back data to the data source from Power BI by using the Power Apps Visual.
Video tutorial shows how to add, update & delete data in data source directly from Power BI report by using the Power Apps Visual. The Power App will connect to the data source and perform the Write Back (CRUD) Operations.
We will leverage SharePoint as Data Source and perform the writeback.
I will also demonstrate how to leverage Dataverse for Write Back. Dataverse & SQL Support DirectQuery Import mode. This allows the Power App to initiate a near real time refresh of the Power BI Visuals from Power Apps by use the PowerBIIntegration.Refresh() function.
The Power App will get its data from the Power BI dataset.

Hi Reza, Thank You so much for this nice and easy tutorial :) I'm able to make my very 1st Power App visual in my PBI, 100% from your help!! I encountered just 1 small issue when using LookUp function between Gallery1's selected ID to match with my Screen 2's Form's list of IDs. There are 9000+ IDs in the list to search and match but only the first/top 2000 IDs match well between the 2 screens. May I learn from you how to bypass the 2000 records limit? I tried with alternative functions such as First, Filter and StartsWith to replace LookUp but they also can't function over the 2000th record to load the data in the form to update. Many thanks in advance.

Hi sir, thanks for this tutorial. Although the PBI data I am trying to work on comes from a built in Table from Visualization chart where data columns come from different tables and source files, and also with a 'new measurement' data. I see in this tutorial the data conveniently comes from just one table/source file. Anyway you can make a video with this more complex case?

Hi Reza, great video! Microsoft documentation states that manual refreshes of Power BI datasets don't count towards the allotted refreshes of 8 per day for a Pro license. Wouldn't utilizing the PowerBIIntegration.Refresh() command constitute a manual refresh and therefore not count towards that total?
@RezaDorrani
@RezaDorrani Год назад
For Direct Query mode, you can initiate N number of PowerBIIntegration.Refresh() since all it does is refreshes the Visuals.

Hi Reza, appreciate the thorough video. I would like to eliminate the gallery step and just have the dataverse form - so when I click on a record in my power bi table the dataverse form picks up the ID in a new or edit mode. I have been able to do this successfully with my source as a sharepoint list but when following the same steps for a dataverse source, it's not working. Do you have any videos showing this? For me, the gallery is just an extra step, but now I'm wondering if it's a necessary step to get the form to work with dataverse sources. thank you!
