can't believe this is free content. I've watched many similar videos but not with this quality. Thank you

okay, thank you so much for saying that you do want to tell sometimes rather than show. so many new writers live by the "show, don't tell" thing like Moses brought it back from mount sinai. Piling descriptors on things just gets obnoxious if it's used every other word. and also the people who do that in the way they speak oh GOD the people who do that in the way they speak

Yeah, this comment inspired me to do the follow-up video on "When to tell and when to show". There's certainly a time and place for both. People who try to "show" with every line they speak? Yeah, that's the stuff of nightmares.

Personally I feel that the reliance on imagery is kinda bad, since usually people who write that way have the tendency of forgetting about the other senses beside just the visual aspects and thus feel also flat. Which is especially bad if this is a narrative consumed be a blind person or just someone with aphantasia. Thus it is very inclusive. I agree with you that the concepts have to be made concrete, but that has not to be just about the pictures you paint with words. And it is nice that you mention other sensory perception, but it feels for the first half of the video very much just like lip service. Maybe I am oversensitive in that regard, but accessibility and inclusion are important to me.
