The idea of getting my 80 year old aunt to tell some of her stories is wonderful. Now, I just have to convince her that we are an appreciative audience, and that she can do it, without feeling like her English teacher is grading it. i would hate to lose her stories just because she feel she'll be 'graded'.
Oh, I can so relate. However, tell her that the writing 'expert' keeps making grammatical mistakes. But a recorded story with mistakes is better than a perfectly formatted story in someone's head who has passed away. I would rather have my family laugh at my mistakes than lament that I didn't record our history. Good luck and keep me posted on how things go.
