Let us take you through the difficult world of writing your first personal statement. For more advice on how to write a personal statement and thinking about your future in general, visit www.ucas.com/progress
No joke a girl at our school mentioned a book in her personal statement but didn't read it and her interviewer turned out to be the author of that book! Busted!
She deserved to be turned down then. What kind of insecure prat pretends to read books they haven't? Leo Tostoy wrote about similar themes of insecurity in his sci-fi novel War and Peace
This shits so annoying “Hi I don’t really care about this course or about going to university but I’m going to do it because my parents want me to and I want to be able to make a decent wage in the future and get a job , I play games and do stuff but it has absolutely nothing to do with my course”
ME. I just want to go play Genshin Impact and watch anime but my parents are making me apply for a law course I have no interest in and barely care about, just so I can work my arse off so I just barely survive in the future.
@@jinorism be realistic in your life, do something not for yourself but for the society at least. Being lawyer is always been amazing, though I am not pursuing law myself but believe me lawyers and judges can make the society a better place to live in. Watching cartoon and animes won't do you any good. These are the creation of humans and think for the moment that you are living in these human made fantasies. You would be either in late teens or early twenties and believe me this is time for character building and do, desire, pursue something that makes the lives of others and your's better. However, it's not necessarily be a degree holder from some university but do something productive; such as learning skills like programing, digital marketing etc. to make your life better. Respect your parents because they have experienced life and saw the ups and down in their lives and therefore they always think for your good. I am writing this long essay instead of writing my own personal statement with 3 days remaining for deadline, so better bother your a$$e now than ever and try to alleviate the addiction of this sort of cartoon, animes etc. My humble advice.
@@kajab855 what you've said is completely arbitrary to your experiences in life. Let people live how they want to live, if you want "consume time on learning something new" then go do that. If my guy wants to watch anime and play games let him. Don't try and hold people to your ego. If I want to cover myself in Vaseline and lick doorknobs you sure as hell aren't stopping me. Check yourself. My humble advise
@@jinorism this is me in a nutshell lol. I don’t really know what i want to do in my life but I think i’ll just apply for medicine. But i have nothing to show my interest towards it hhhh cos i’m not interested in anything really. And applying for medicine is really competitive so I’ll probably get rejected anyway so whatever.
Gonna be real, I just want to study at uni. I’m not thrilled and excited and overjoyed about doing something I probably have to do to get a job now, this whole thing kind of just seems like bullshit. A helpful video in telling me what unis give a shit about, but the entire personal statement thing feels like bullshit and just feels like being overly positive about something I feel like I’m obligated to do.
same way i’m feeling. i need to have one for sixth form but i don’t have any plans for my future. i only chose the subjects i want to do because i’m good at them and enjoy them. but how am i supposed to go on about them to make it into a paragraph. also i’m not very good at wording so this just feels so panic inducing. i’m not excited, i don’t have a reason tbh why i picked the sixth form i picked, probs because it’s just closer to me, and hobbies? i don’t get how they have any relevance but okay
Going into higher education with a view like that won't make you happy, and it won't make your abilities stand out. There are alternative routes into a career that don't include studying something you dislike for 4 years. If you _are_ going to get a job, you should look for something you love. There is literally a whole world of work out there for you to choose from. You don't have to settle for second-best.
Chat all the sh** you want, but this video was absoulutely amazing and useful. Thank you very much! (Trying to get into King Ed's Stourbridge in here, wondering why this is so important when I and most applicants did well in GCSE's. It's just stress I don't need rn ngl...)
@@justsomeguywithoutapenis1133 are you onna bout KEST Birmingham? My friends have said they weren’t supported there and that teachers didn’t give a shit about you or your mental health
Hello, I'm writing on behalf of ILC, a distance learning organization from Ontario, Canada. We'd like to include this video in one of our courses. Would there be a good email to reach you at?
God I just wanna make music not this bullshit, but I’m going to college to be safe, I got wanna do this shit man fuck being a doctor, a lawyer, etc. Only making 100k a year and being in debt
Me because I have to do this for school work but I really don’t because my dad owns his own company and I already work for him and I’m already good at the job but I still have to do this because if I fail I’ll still get yelled at even tho my dad said he wants me to work for him lmao 💀👁👄👁
I am wondering whether requesting my father to give me a position in his company is a part of honour and privilege because the law in our country does not allow me to work unless I am 18 years old.😭
