And for the atheists too, like me. I'm not exactly atheist, but I don't have faith. However, i find these biblical stories really important to understand because religion was a foundation of human order and cooperation and they explain the values and systems we believe in today. These stories serve as perfect metaphors for many things that go wrong in our life and how to remedy them, it make you reflect and go deeper into many meanings about universal matters. Understanding religion is understanding who we are, no matter how against religion you may be. These stories don't have to be true or factual to hold any meaning, just like a good fictional movie can change your life for making you think about certain topics.

I'm actually a little confused by that statement from the Bible Project. Because in another video on Hebrews they say the following, "and so now they should follow all the great models of faith found throughout the story of scriptures and they should remain faithful Jesus...." Then in another video on the Psalms, "David as a model of this kind of faithfulness. So he calls out to God deliver him and God elevates him as King." So then now this video is saying we cannot be like them? Yet following a model is following them and being to some extent like them. I think Walt Russell in his book, Playing With Fire, deals with this issue to a greater extent and I agree with his perspective. The Old Testament (also the New Testament) provides bad and good examples. So I would say yes, do not follow David's example of sleeping with another man's wife but do follow his example of being a man after God's own heart who does all of God's will (Acts 13:22).

I Think They Just Mean Model After What They Learn From God,After Then Modal How They Were BEFORE That.

Well in the Bible there is a two side partnership. In the begging of the Bible, there was a relationship with Adam and Eve and God. God would tell them to obey this and do that. For example, do not eat from that tree and you will die (one part in a relationship is communication). Then Adam and Eve had to trust God and obey Him (this was their part of the relationship, which included communication as well). Adam and Eve broke the God's law, so they showed us unfaithfulness to God and what happens if we do not trust His ways. Throughout the Bible, there is always a convant relationship that involves God's part and the human's part. We are supposed to trust and obey God. Yet, that does not always happen in the Bible. The stories show examples of people trusting God (good) and not trusting God (bad). They were speaking about Hebrews 11, which provides examples of people who trusted God and it is ok to follow those examples. It's kind of like what Paul said, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ" (1 Cor 11:1). A good example is Abraham obeying and trusting God (Gen 12:1-4). A bad example is Abraham lying about Sarah being His wife. The truth is these people in those moments are somethings following God and we can follow them as they do the same. It's when they do not follow God that we cannot follow. True God teaches mankind what is good and true. And from the beginning He did, but we have not done a good job learning from him. Even Peter provides a bad and good example of following Jesus (God).
