I find it amazing that even though Boogie is doing a DEEP DIVE back to the place where all that Trauma happened he is uncovering all kinds of happy events of his early years. So for those of us who are just beginning their journey of healing this really helps to let us know that this journey is nothing to fear. It's a healing journey of the mind and body.

I honestly dont think ive ever seen a roch in my life, makes me sad thinking about kids growing up in infested houses. Similar to sant train we had a horse drawn cart that went around decorated like santas sled, with santa onboard and elves walking alongside. Thank you for making me think of these memories again

You know, I live down here in SW VA too, and I can say I myself take our magnificent mountains for granted but, I think it's just were we see it every day we just don't think twice about it. Only time I really think about it is when somebody from out of here compliments it so much. How truly blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place. Welcome home boogie.

For my dad, it was sugary sweets.. i couldn't get him to leave them alone.. they kept telling him it would kill him, but he kept eating cakes cookies, and drinking sugary softdrinks.. He got to where he couldn't fight off infections anymore.. and it killed him in 2013.. around 10 years ago...

Yeah man, the roach thing. When I was a kid we ended up a place that had them and we didn't know. Only way we finally got rid of them was moving and leaving absolutely everything behind. You can't really take anything with you at all if you want them all gone.

I'm glad you survived everything that happened during your childhood. My childhood was rough as well, so I can relate. I've been watching your videos for years now and still enjoy them today.

Oh the days of Santa Train and parades! Santa Train still runs today and still gives out toys and school supplies to kids. Even wrapping paper to parents. My parents would drive to Hanging Rock and then hurry and drive to St.Paul to get more supplies.

When you zoomed in on those mountains made me wonder if that is in the direction of where I was back when I was a senior in high school. I played in the National Scholastic Chess Tournament in Pulaski, VA back around 1987. It was the one and only time I’ve ever been to a tournament like that as well as the first time being in Virginia. We were totally surrounded by mountains which to me was breathtaking. See Boogie! Ya got me reminiscing! I’m really enjoying your story of your past. I wish I could remember a lot of mine, but my memories were purposely blocked by me because of my dad dying in a car accident when I was very little. That’s another story for later.

Always makes me happy to see other parts of Saint Paul. Boogie, I really don't want to tell you one way or the other what you should do with your property there, especially with all the hell that happened to you. But wouldn't it be poetic justice if you bulldozed that ol' place down and live there yourself one day? New house, new family, putting the work in to right the wrongful energy of that old place. Even if you don't, I look forward to hearing whatever you do end up doing with it.

They do something like Santa train all over WI and other mid western states. It has Santa and all the cars are decorated with lights and such. When they come through towns I think they might make short stops and play music and hand out candy and such but no actual gifts as such.

As a fellow traveler from a past of trauma, abuse, and neglect, I pray you may find your peace. God is a good God despite people, despite us. He took me from that past and gave me a beautiful, loving family. It's been decades healing for me as I'm sure it's been for you. Keep going, and I pray it's with Ayin Tova (I-een Toe-vah) "a good eye" ...an eye that sees the good despite the bad.

Enjoying this series a lot Boogie! Believe it or not, there is a large amount (mostly railfans (not just in SW Virginia)) of us who know, appreciate, and enjoy what the Santa Train does to everybody in that region. Nowadays the train throws out toys, food, and backpacks filled with age-specific clothing and school supplies. We will be traveling down that weekend to capture pictures and videos of the 81st running later this year!
