Complete exhaust setup is Killer B Equal Length Header, Grimmspeed Limited Catted Down Pipe, AWE Touring Edition Catback Exhaust or AWE Track Edition Catback Exhaust depending on my mood.
Thanks I appreciate it. In my opinion if your going to go just for the catback and nothing else the touring is hard to beat. If you like it a bit more raw and raspy then the track is the way to go. Good luck picking an exhaust is always one of the toughest choices lol.
It is a noticeable difference but not as much as you would think considering the size of the mufflers. In person how is the cabin difference? Are you surprised with the results?.
Outside you are correct it is noticeable but not what you would think. While editing you could see the difference in the sound wave. Both had the same peak overall volume, but the touring cut the rasp or higher pitch off the end. The track carried the same peak volume maybe a 1/4 second longer. It was interesting to see it like that. As for in cabin, the drone is there for sure. It hits peak drone at about 2500-3000 if your just going through the gears. Surprisingly cruising is not bad, but if the cruise control has to continuously adjust, and the windows are up it’s on lol. As for the results, it is definitely fun to have the option to swap back and forth. The weight savings are nice with the track as well (really main reason I wanted it). I’ll run this setup in the spring/summer then swap back in the fall/winter. Having the raw sound on hand is a nice bonus, jury is still out on whether the local police agree 🤷♂️.
@@spdkills83 Good to know thank you for the response, I wanted to go for the conversion but because there is absolutely no rasp with my touring its a hard decision to make lol. My first exhaust that is rasp free. Hope you enjoy bro both sound insane.
Honestly I personally do not notice any more pops or crackles. They both did about the same in my testing, which is odd because I assumed it would be more as well.
the mufflers are a straight through design. the mufflers just trap/cancel out certain frequencies because there is a hole in the pipe just as it enters the muffler body. AWE refers to this as their 180* technology....
I can agree the touring does hit a deeper tone and the track serves up the rasp. As for the spats, they are the USDM ones with the Bayso R extensions attached. Thanks for asking.
The car is FBO with a Cobb 20G and E85. The exhaust is a Killer B Holy header (equal length), Grimmspeed Catted Limited DP, and the AWE touring or track Catback portion depending upon mood.
if you do just a muffler delete, you are spending $300+ dollars on axle backs with stock diameter piping. Put that $300+ to work and get the whole Track cat back (~$1100). Or do a single exit Ti system (Tomei or Remark or Noble or ____) for about the same or slightly less.
