I live in Piedmont near Asti, but here the summers are pretty long, because we are in t-short from april to the first days of october. Maybe are short in Alto Adige or somewhere by the Alps. Today for ex we have 35 °C! I’m confused about the answer in exam! Thanks for your help Jimmy. Your videos are rich and helpful!

Hi! If you are referring to the temperatures that are quoted in this video, remember that the temperatures that are referred to when talking about climate are the average temperature throughout the growing season. This includes day and night across the region. It's a climate category that can explain one of the reasons why certain grapes are grown in the north. I hope that helps!

@@WineWithJimmy Thanks for your explanation Jimmy. I was referring to the words "short summers", that is not real in Piedmont, Veneto and in the cost. The summers are slightly shorter (but not short) somewhere in Alto Adige or in some mountain villages in Valle d'Aosta. But maybe it's the climate change that has changed things. Many winemakers here are debating on this point

@@lauranorese7036The unfortunate fact is that over time, many of these videos will need revising due to climate change.

I thought Guyot is a low training system (apply in Burgundy) that is usually use in cool area. Instead, VSP should be used in warmer area. Could you give some more details?
@WineWithJimmy
@WineWithJimmy 3 года назад
Hi - guyot is a type of VSP (vertical shoot positioning). VSP refers to any training method where the main shoots extend vertically.

@@WineWithJimmy If the question ask, why do Bordeaux wines use VSP training system or Burgundy use Guyot training system, how do explain ?
