I regularly search out reactions to Bloodywood. I got to see them live back in May in Chicago - best concert I've ever been to. I got to the meet boys before the concert, they are absolutely the kindest, most humble people I've ever met. And I think the fact that they're so popular and accepted is a bit surreal for them, lol.

Lol, up until now, did you ever, even once, think someday you’d be thinking “man, that guy shredded that flute solo”? 😂 They’re generally really good about reactions, as they’re 109% indie. They write it, record it, release it, promote it, shoot the videos (go check out the mini documentary on their Raj Against the Machine tour for tales of guerilla filming). And welcome to the family 🤗

That's one of the great thing about RU-vid. I've discovered so many new groups that were outside my usual palette of musical taste. And most of my favorite groups are from other countries/languages (BABYMETAL, Rammstein, Bloodywood,...). Music is truly universal. Great reaction as usual!!

Woohoo! I don't know if I previously recommended these guys (I think my initial recommendation would have been "Machi Basad (I predict a riot)" They have played Wacken and stated that their goal was to "destroy pop music" They are straight up legends for their charity work, especially for things like bullying, mental health, women's rights and animal rights. After their 2019 European tour they donated free online counselling sessions and bought an ambulance for an animal charity. You are powering through your Metal journey! In the past I have not liked to add more rabbitholes for you but you are crushing it! Imma gonna suggest Japan as your next stop, (the evolution of Babymetal from Pop Princess group into serious metalheads is fascinating!) and Lovebites is a newer group that you should check out. I am also going all patriotic and recommending the depressingly talented New Zealand boys Alien Weaponry. They are quite political and often sing in Maori. Their song "Kai Tangata" effing rocks. I know just enough Maori to know that "Kai" means "food" and "tangata" means "people". Yes, that is a reference to cannibalism. The Maori did not play, and were the only indigenous people to consistently win tactical victories against the mighty British Army, despite having massively inferior equipment and usually being outnumbered by at least 10 to 1. (Fortunately the Brits were smart enough to only colonise NZ with the consent of the people who already lived there. The Treaty Of Waitangi (our founding document) guarantees Maori perpetual rights to certain resources. In 1893 we became the first real democracy in the world, where every adult, regardless of race or gender, had the vote.

Bloodywood is F'ing amazing, professionally and personally. After hearing this one I agree with many others in the comments that Jee Veerey and Dana Dan are the next 2 to watch. Both show their thoghts on important issues, and Jee Veerey made my eyes water a little bit during the song, but the tears really started to fall when Iistened to the after message and how they took their convictions and put them into action for the sake of the community.

Oh, I love Bloodywood. I saw them live at Wacken 2019, when they were even more of an insider tip than they are today, and also in Cologne earlier this year. The Rakshak tour shirt is an absolute eye-catcher and a very good icebreaker, at least I've never been asked about a band shirt so often. Their song Ari Ari is also very good and has a fun video to watch.

@ARIAS and the Nation: Daniel, I am so happy and appreciative you reacted to this. What you need to know is that Aaj is not the first song I found by Bloodywood. A few years ago, because I am a chronic depressive, I was having a very bad day. So bad that I considered ending my own life. Yet, in my darkest hour, call it God, call it Fate, it matters not: I found Bloodywood and their track Jee Veerey. Quite literally, it is a song about overcoming depression, and Bloodywood gave me the courage and strength within to keep me fighting against the dark, that darkened, blackened rising that I still struggle with to this day. Not to say it is easy, but Jee Veerey revealed to me a purpose I have found in life: To help those who are struggling, and who feel alone. Helping others has literally bolstered my own resolve in the face of my own battles, and every day I wake up, is another battle won. Aaj is special because it isn't just an anthem to make a better choice, but the woman who you saw, Archy, is the first recognized female bagpiper in India. She is known as "The Snake Charmer," and has her own channel. I highly recommend checking out a track of hers called "Toss the Feathers," a fusion of traditional Irish folk music with Indian lyrics and instruments. It is invigorating, to say the least! And, should you react to Jee Veerey, you should know that when the video for Jee Veerey was released, Bloodywood paid out-of-pocket for 60 1-on-1 counseling sessions for anyone in the world who needed them. Doing so was so successful, that the number of sessions has increased to 10 times that original number, at now over 600.
