40:49 when he said "J&J I'll say it" and other people were hesitant, that's when you realise how secure he feels and actually he has the ability to say his mind without fear. Admirable.
He have earned his freedom. He knows he is safe both financially and politically. So even if some dispute were to happen and he loses some money he wouldn't care as he have liquidity in his funds while most other startup founders have their net worth in their company shares and there company are in loss. Liquidity matters
Extremely grateful to Nikhil for creating such candid podcasts wherein he asks questions to such accomplished personalities like we do with our close friends. It's like having a seat beside them. No one in India would have the ability, access and confidence to do what he is doing and the way in which he is doing this! No fluff, absolutely pure insightful conversations! Thank you so much for this! India needed this badly! ❤
Looks like a therapy session.. I remember Nikhil mentioning about how much he loves psychology. It's a win win for him and the audience. He is enjoying being a psychologist (journaling their"guests" life journey) And it is an educational piece for the audience. That's how he is such a great entrepreneur
@sakkshamghanani I agree to some extent, because as he mentioned 3 - 4 cr in 1999 can be considered a good amount of money . I was like Bro even 4 - 5 lakh rupees was a very big deal back then
@@sakkshamghanani i understand that he is a rich kid, he never told he was poor. but is being successful while being a rich kid is not considered actually successful? should only rags to riches stories be entartained?
I really like the type of questions nikhil asked like from the very basic questions to advance properly tapping what we actually want to know not some unnecessary storylines only These days various podcasts of hours long talk about the journey, storylines and other unnecessary questions but only few of them talk quality Which aligns with what a viewer want to learn and I believe this podcast in worth listening/watching in that sense, thanks for producing something that counts ❤
Moreover I really like that part when nikhil reframe his questions to ghazal about the process and really put effort in questions so that we can learn not from the bird's eye but the intricacies of it
Idk from where I've heard this "The day Indians make entrepreneur sort of their HEROS rather than Bollywood we'll make it big." and it's happing now , at least for many of us. Thanks for these WTF ep.
His husband worked for Unilever as a marketing manager position and learned the FMCG Business and then leveraged this to Mamaearth.... Earlier the launch Baby care brand and after Varun suggested to expand this Baby brand to Cosmetic category specially in Hair/ Skin care.
My man's taking full fledged lectures now in the form of podcast, but genuinely appreciate the work man! Now we know why it takes so much time for you and the production to process and edit this video❤
I am a 25 year old living in Europe and planning to go back to India in the upcoming months to do business. This podcast has been an absolute goldmine and unlike all other. I hope you keep on creating quality content.
I think this team is the most inspiring so far from all the podcasts... Also there's no other than Nikhil who cares about a 20 year old boy/girl and rooting for him to build a business... really i cant thank this guy more!! 😍
As someone in New York, wanting to move back to India, this is something that gives me utmost clarity & some subtle motivation of getting into it. Cheers on the amazing work 🎉
I love these discussions its like those which our families have during posh meetings with their buisness friends, unicorn founders and IAS officers which we tend to over hear when we were kids but are now introduced to them. So much nowledge is distilled in the form of an engaging conversation. I don't think we can ask for more honestly. Thank you Mr. Nikhil Kamath.
Nikhil Sir if you are reading this, i truly love the fact that you take the effort to record these conversations and how you developed a true positive win win situation for both you and your audience where you get to socialize in the way you love while being anti-social and we get our monthly dose of entertainment.
Only podcast I watched for more than 2 hours without break which actually led to sprain in my neck. Manish poddar’s story was incredible, so many insights !!
The comment section has already mentioned everything I want to say after spending 4 hours on this thing. Still let me repeat this is the best podcast that I have ever heard in my life ❤
I'll admit... I had no clue who Manish Poddar was until I saw this podcast. His was the best piece out of the three...so much knowledge about his industry and ground level hustle. Kudos! Nikhil is so calm and intelligent...love listening to him!
This Manish Poddar guy is gold. Great story teller, made boring textile business so interesting. Had great work experience. I felt he shared all good nuggets.
@@Noproblem45He lived in mumbai , initially he was living in kalba devi then he mentioned somewhere in the interview that thereafter he moved out to area name cuff parade
As a 19 year old my self I feel this piece of content is more valuable than a lot of things that I had studied in last few years. Its motivating and teaches a lot of lessons on entrepreneurship
Great to hear the same perspective from a person of the same age as me ! Bro I am trying to solve a problem in the healthcare and quick commerce space I would love to connect with you and see if we could work together!
I have read all the books on entrepreneurship and business and even most of the major disciplines of science and I am will to work with anyone who is starting a company (18 years old)
In a way Yes and No, given his present position in the society this show is almost close to "The David Rubenstein Show" equivalent for India...in some sorts...he has the money/wealth, the time and the intent of helping the future line of entrepreneurs. In that way absolutely YES... No or perhaps NOT necessarily because his questions clearly across all his WTFs are for himself to learn in the process from the best in their respective domains and/or success stories. For him it is a wealth of information as his questions are far more deep rooted and intrinsic than any average journalist or media interview and that is clearly his mission as stated at the start of each show..if you notice closely there is a pattern that will emerge that shows Nikhil is trying to understand in real life from the experiences of others mostly successful individuals over the last 2 decades across domains and relate it some of the reading and research he is doing and has been for sometime now, on psychology books and perhaps older versions of behavioural impacts that make people successful...so he is getting SOMETHING that he clearly believes is not possible to validate besides understanding if anything that he has read or is reading is true...
its called altruism. he is obviously helping others while building his personal brand, which will eventually help his businesses as well. Like BoAT helping from Aman's brand on Shark Tank. Respect!
I was listening to the podcast and thought would share what the difference between self confidence and humility is - self confidence is believing you can add to the conversation in the room ; humility is believing others ALSO could be capable of adding to the conversation in the room!
Nikhil, ghazal, Manish, and most humble Ritesh Thank you so much guys for your time. It is some of my most valuable time I spent on. And the knowledge I had with you guys. ❤
Manish's way of laying out things on the table clearly demonstrates how much rich experience he is carrying with him. Thanks for inviting him as a guest. Much appreciated!
One of the best podcast ever. Manish is my new role model. Transperant, Brave and calm mind. Accepting the truth during bad time instead of going into denial.
Three speakers and a great host! Speaker 1: Drama queen Speaker 2: cool cowboy! Speaker 3: total respect Host: read too many psychology books and surely planning to write one !
Nikhil's intelligence shows in the use of words, the right questions asked, the ability to bring back the conversation the minute he thinks it's inclining elsewhere. Truly a gem! It's wholesome.
WTF has become my favorite podcast series now. I never thought I'd watch a 4 hours long podcast. It was completely worth my time. Such an amazing podcast, so much to learn.
Rare rabbit is a heck of a brand for niche customers .. I wear my shirts from rare rabbit and I must say they do give a tough competition to snitch , Zara and H&M
MINDBLOWN!! This is the most intellectual and raw content available for free on the internet I can't believe it. You are doing a true EDUCATIONAL charity via this! Me and many others aspire to become entrepreneurs and look forward to sit in your studio and have these conversation in less than 10 years from now! I am manifesting this today and this comment will be shown in that podcast!❤ Please continue doing this! GOD BLESS YOU from heart and sorry for your loss, RIP Also your editor is so cool man, love the notes!!💌
I usually watch videos in 1.5x or 2x but this podcast I have watched with normal speed , Manish sir story is really worth listening 👌👌 Brilliant podcast 👍
All of these 3 peoples were recommended by me 😊❤. I know you all will not agree, but recently nikhil did a survey and asked what subscribers want: I suggested manufacturing and services and named Rare rabbit and mama Earth's name. 😊😊😊❤❤ Love the response of this man. And Ritesh is like cherry on the cake 🎂❤
Whenever she is being asked anything which is quantifiable she seems to be giving loopholes! 40-50 lacs of debt for a middle class family back then, 1 lac per month income for a middle class family in Chandigarh back then!
Had been longing to start something in the khadi space now manish gave me a push that i needed. Have so many ideas around it already my mind can’t stop, let’s see if i can make it
Kindly make a podcast about "WTF is best career" As the major reason why we aren't doing a startup isn't that we don't have enough knowledge about "Finance" (I mean that's not what's absolutely stopping us), it's that we don't know that when a big chunk of successful founders are academically excellent and did their education from premier institutes, should we do a startup in college or should we prepare for MBA? It's question like these which stops us
Bruh!!! If you have a product market fit and you are adding value in consumers life then nobody sees your education qualification, just see this podcast panel 2 of them never been to college(Ritesh and Nikhil) and now running the biggest startups of India and the reason many successful founder are from premier institutes is that they developed the habit of working hard early in their life and has nothing to do with institution
The whole empire of Mamaearth is build by the Expertise of Varun(FMCG background) but it is marketed as the whole done by Ghazal, Its the marketing tactics because in India we have soft corner for women entrepreneur.
2:45:00 Nikhil expression says it all, Ritesh is trying to mould his feelings by using him as an example and this guy caught it! I mean what a duo! These guys are lit
Thank you for making these shows, As a billionaire you have all the money to produce such podcasts, but I thank you for the dedicated time and efforts you put in these.
Either they don't edit this video at all or the video is too smoothly edited. Because it feels like you are sitting there having a conversation. Even if the editor chose to not edit too much, hats off because understanding what part needs a touch up is really important too. Other than that the texts and images in between were nicely edited. Kudos!
"Someone so nice can't be so successful" very true for ritesh he is constantly wearing an mask and never reveal his true self the story of oyo is not 100% true here:)
In age of 2 minutes reels, impatient me was hooked up for full four hours fifteen minutes. Absolutely loved it, keep it up Nikhil...but I must say you grilled Ritesh more than Manish and Ghazal ! This might be due to the reason Ritesh was more researched by you and your team. Anyways it was inspirational , energetic and educational.
I am a 26 year old sitting in my office in California, who wants to move back to India and start his business. Thank you Nikhil for this amazing content.
What business are you interested in ? I hope you make it mate. Moving to a new country and getting a job in today's day is tough enough and shows your grit.
@@randomgeek9385 I work in precision manufacturing so I would like to do something related to that. I also make drones and robots so I would like to explore that too. I want to stay in the US for at least 2 more years so I get the relevant experience so I am still deciding on what exactly I am going to do.
I genuinely want to appreciate the way Nikhil hosts this podcast. It is so very natural and unscripted but still sticks with the agenda. And of course the depth of questions is underrated.
Mamaearth really doesn't care about the users they just import everything from china and sell it ... and which is harmful to many users even i got affected..by it 🤐 They just wanna make money...
This is another masterpiece. I would it's not only for entrepreneurs but also for corporate people who want to excel in their life ( not only career). Thank you Nikhil for having this one.
It's annoying to see Nikhil taking notes diligently asking so many follow up questions like a therapy session....than the free flow of back and forth conversation of a podcast which it is supposed to be...
Many many many thanks Nikhil for bringing this super informative, inspiring, thought provoking gem for us. I must also add here that your articulation of other people's ideas are at a different level. Thank you
Ritesh, I personally feel is a calm and purest soul. Always ready to aid society. Great show. Nikhil, it's been a great thought of starting and talking such great minds.
Have seen Ghazal part for today(an hour +) , her story feels so wholesome , the charm she holds , the hand movements while conveying things , and also thanking the guy so gracefully for serving food. I’m in awe
She seems fake to me, she is face of the company just because of company's name otherwise it would have been different, you should see their media interviews you will understand. The fact that her husband worked in HUL would have helped them to get their initial product manufactured rather than cold calling or anything. No manufacturer would entertain a 21 yr old just like manish pointed out.
People of this country have a problem of hating on and trying to drag down entrepreneurs for no reason. The comments above like "She seems fake to me" are evidence of that petty mentality. There's a saying - everything is yellow to the jaundiced eye..
Kunal Shah (cred) , Sanjeev bikachandani , shantanu Deshpande from Bombay shaving company, with nikhil kamath. Name: wtf does it need to sell product. This will be one of best podcast. Please nikhil and team!!
It was the longest podcast and one of my first where i watched full episode without loosing my interest..very nice and enriching...hope to see more interesting ones..
@Manish, @Nikhil Kamath, I ordered a trouser from the Rare Rabbit app in July 2022 and have yet to receive my order. I tried contacting customer support but received no response. Eventually, I got tired and gave up. After seeing your interview, I have one suggestion: please focus on customer feedback and after-sale support. Otherwise, you risk losing loyal customers like me. From 2019 to 2022, Rare Rabbit was my go-to store for clothes. However, after this incident, I haven’t purchased a single outfit from your brand.
Dear Nikhil, I discovered you just a week ago on RU-vid and since then, I've been glued to your videos. With every video, my admiration and fondness for you as a person and a great mind grow. I can confidently say I'm a huge fan! I particularly enjoy the way you lead your podcast interactions. The format you've created, where you engage with your guests in a way that's both interesting and intriguing, is not only motivating but also incredibly informative. It's my personal belief that this type of interaction should be implemented at the governmental level when formulating policy for different sectors. Imagine the benefit of hearing diverse perspectives from the new-age industries that are driving growth! We simply cannot rely on outdated systems for a world that's constantly evolving. But that, of course, is a conversation for another time. Thank you for sharing your insights and for your fantastic choice of guests. Your communication style is truly engaging. Ps : I suggested your channel to my son in Canada and discovered he is already watching your videos since the day you started 😊 Sincerely, Ashish Sharma
Nikhil, please do a podcast with social entrepreneurs who have made it big in handloom. The challenges surrounding rural entrepreneurship that happens right from the villages of India. It is the current evolving market in fashion... A sincere request... I feel people don't talk enough about this sector 🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. As a 21-year-old, I have learned a lot. I appreciate your efforts in sitting for 8 hours straight (4:14:20) till 4 AM.
