Many, many moons ago, I was an extra on Gangs of New York. And let me tell you, every guy on set was in love with Cameron. She was down to earth, chatty, filthy laugh and loved just goofing around. She was like one of the guys.
@@PrincessofPower84 she just hasn't resorted to turning her body into a botox/collagen farm. Earth to people like you...WE ALL AGE. Some just choose to do so without the use of poison and plastic. I'm 22 and I cannot think of anything worse than succumbing to the shit show that is the LA/Hollywood idea of what ageing looks like. We laugh at people like that in the real world...
Please don't remind us about how old we are. It's quite depressing. Just a moment ago I was in my teens watching 90's comedies. I don't know what happened.
Wow The Mask was her first basically? You'd think she was acting for years. She did a great job, I loved that movie and both her and Jim's performance.
I’m glad she decided to walk away from Hollywood..She started on a high note and bowed out gracefully. No need for her to keep chasing the limelight..as long as she happy with what she has done over the years..she could put her time & energy into her family life. Good for her!
Every time I start a 'WTF Happened to ...' video: Oh god, not them! This'll be fun to watch! Every time i finish a 'WTF happened to ...' video: Well good for them! That was fun to watch!
Meg Ryan would also be a great choice for “WTF Happened To...?” She had a great run in the 80s and 90s (with hit films like “Top Gun”, “Innerspace”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “The Doors”, “Sleepless in Seattle”, “When A Man Loves A Woman”, “French Kiss”, “Courage Under Fire”, “Anastasia”, and “You’ve Got Mail”), but then it all went downhill in the new millennium all because she had an affair with her “Proof of Life” co-star Russell Crowe (while she was still married to Dennis Quaid!). I mean, America’s sweetheart caught having an affair? SCANDAL! 😮 Make Meg wear the Scarlet “A” on her shirt! 😂 😂
Meg Ryan killed her career by starring in in the cut and on the ropes. In the cut was absolutely destroyed by every film critic who saw. As was on the ropes. She ended up in the UK on Parkinson's chat show and that was so bad that in his autobiography parky said she won't be on his Christmas card list and that feeling was mutual. Her divorce to Dennis quaid was horrible and that marriage ending was awful.
Johan W Well, it’s easy not to chase money when you already have money. Duh! That’s like telling a starving person “Why are you obsessed with food? Food isn’t everything.”
While Cameron's performance in Being John Malkovich was great, it was helped by the character's writing. The character herself was more than just "The Wife" archetype.
You should have mentioned that Vanilla Sky was based on the 1997 Spanish film called Open Your Eyes. By the way that same movie also had Penelope Cruz in it staring as the main love interest Sophia.
Another epic review by JoBlo. Every time I think the question - WTF is So-and-So, Jo is on top of it. Speaking of which - Where is Kathrine Baits, another great American actor?!
I enjoyed it as a cheesy action movie lol. I esp loved how everytime Tom was in a pickle cameron would just pass out and wake up to Tom saving her some how? lol
“Borges said there are only four stories to tell: a love story between two people, a love story between three people, the struggle for power and the voyage. All of us writers rewrite these same stories ad infinitum.” ― Paolo Coelho
Ray Romano isn't big enough for this list...Kevin and David just didn't have the charisma to tentpole their own films...they are both great side characters though, I love Spade but Netflix constantly shows hes not a leading man
Agreed Shan. They may not be perfect but they are interesting films that stand out amongst the cookie cutter Hollywood conveyer belt of reboots and sequels.
Ya but is she really that great an actress. Even in movies they highlight here like Being John Malkovich and Gangs of New York there are much more memorable acting performances than hers.
I saw knight and day by accident and o thought it was way better than others in the genre if fact I'm pretty sure I've watched multiple times .. Cruise and Diaz have good chemistry
@@Smashmilk AND they did their own stunts. Both are highly skilled drivers. You might enjoy this - while they were filming the movie, they visited the Top Gear crew (the GOOD crew, that is), and competed for best time in the "reasonably priced car" contest. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qexo0eI3eE4.html
@@caldodge Yea they always have to beg Tom to stop doing his own stunts just trying to be Jakie chan lol and yea I saw that episode of top gear I've always liked both of them. I remember sneaking the VHS of Risky Business when I was a kid I think it was the first boobs i ever saw actually ....
Roller Girl he was thinking I’m gonna do a supernatural morality parable. I think the basis for good or bad isn’t the same as whether we like it or not. He accomplished what he set out to do and got good performances out of a good cast. The cinematography is really good and the sfx are surprisingly good looking. It’s an obtuse movie and I understand not enjoying it but it’s a well crafted movie imo
Jordan Kay I’ll give you that, the cinematography was amazing and the actor that sticks out in my mind is the always great Frank Langella. Cameron Diaz not so much. If I remember correctly wasn’t it set in Texas and she had this atrocious attempt at a Texan accent and it was painful. I’m an actress so bad acting just pulls me out of the movie. As far as the rest of the movie the first half wasn’t bad but the second half went off the rails. While I understand Kelly’s motivation it was too pretentious for my taste. I go back to Donnie Darko because it was such a brilliant, dark, haunting movie. And while even Jake Gyllenhaal admits the movie confuses him, it’s still understandable and interesting enough to follow Donnie’s journey from beginning to end. And don’t even get me started on the acting (especially by Gyllenhaal), cinematography and soundtrack. One of my favorite movies ever.
Roller Girl I was gonna say Frank Langella is fantastic I just didn’t wanna go on too long also James Marsden who was so under appreciated for so long. Yeah Cameron wasn’t great and Americans doing accents are often mixed results in general. I went to film school for editing and directing Donnie Darko was definitely at one point pretty much my favorite movie when I was a teen and I will always credit it for using Under The Milky Way perfectly as well as many other great things, many of the points you mentioned. I feel it ages worse for me the more my taste for movies has developed. It’s not a well constructed movie and the directors cut really shows how much he struggled to make it a cohesive story as a lot of what got cut was good world building and fun for people who already like it but does this thing of trying to add rules to a world where the viewer doesn’t need them and then inversely without them it feels like someone preaching at you for the length of a movie. It’s ideas are cool and the visuals are amazing but as a movie the parts are greater than the whole. I feel the opposite about the box. I feel like this was a guy learning from his previous colossal failure of Southland Tales which was a sprawling mess and wanting to make something as tightly constructed as possible with minimal characters and a solid delivery. I think he succeeded.
You cray cray! I loved The Box. Interesting way to extend a short story into a surreal thriller. All of Kelly's movies after Donnie Darko were commercial flops but they were all so unique.
She was beautiful in the mask with her long blond hair. After that with her short hair, Not so much. She also had the right amount of thickness. Then got real thin.
Tom Cruise is amazing. when I was a child I too hated on him, but then you grow up and start appreciating the nuances about movie production and the value of consistency. Eyes wide shut for example is a masterpiece. Mission Impossible Fallout is probably top 10 best action movies of all time, and so is Edge of Tomorrow for the 2010s sci fi. The truth is he doesn't have truly bad movies at least from the past 25 years.
im a very tall man and im not afraid to admit that i love a rom com. they boil us down to our basic self and give them a happy ending like a fairy tale. who couldn't love that.
THREE minutes in, and I’m already on my SECOND mid-roll advertisement (and that’s in addition to the pre-roll ad I had to watch.) Did you guys do this, or is it google sucking hard?
