The loss of the Travolta's son and it's the horrifying emotional impact on both he and his wife and family cannot be underestimated. Something you never get over.
Yeah that’s why I stay quiet about him, the man has suffered, that he has, he has suffered awfully 😢 He can be as crazy as he wants, he’s not hurting anyone, and I don’t think he will, he’s pretty innocent.
@@nomercyinc6783 you're right about that. But did it also kill his wife? Did Kelly Preston refuse traditional treatment for her breast cancer? I wonder...
In Satanic death cults like Scientology, Hollywood, Music Industry, actors/singers must sacrifice (death made to look like an accident, given fast-cancer injections, overdoses). John sacrificed his son (in Bermuda where there was no investigation) and his wife (she wanted a divorce). He was gay and wanted a male partner. Tom Cruise was going to sacrifice Suri (but wife divorced him first). Maybe that's why Nicole Kidman left him to protect 2 children from being sacrificed.
He's one of my favorite actors. He's lived through a lot of pain. Lost his first love Diana Hyland, his son Jett, and now his wife. God bless him and his family.
He lives not 2 far from me. 2 of my sisters met him he is A Fantastic person. Great Guy praying he comes back soon from the lose of the Love of his Life Kelly not Easy losing someone you really love..
@@gerrilagrange1290 must be something living close to an airport. But l can believe he is awsome to live by. He does have an incredible life, for the most part.
@@lucyhare5524 Did you say "I can believe he is awesome to live by"?!! You know what Scientology is right? A religion packed so full of rich batshit crazy people that it's almost admirable, in a sad kind of way. The church of Scientology is well known for being, let just say, less than gracious towards outsiders and people in its own church who choose to leave the faith. I'm trying to see the silver lining in living near John Travolta, but between the tragedies he's suffered and how his religion treats others, he would be a fucking NIGHTMARE to live near!! John Travolta is an amazing actor, I'm sure he's a nice guy and tries to be a good person, but he surrounds himself with crazy and those folks don't make good neighbors...
@@gerrilagrange1290 the loss of a wife, then son - that's ALOT of crap luck wouldn't u say.... How many stars/famous people gone through this??.... & john in scientology - could them losses/deaths be SACRIFICES? ... people in cults have to prove loyalty, by way of sacrifice their wife ... Or first born son etc... N scientology kinda a cult... I think the deaths in john's life were sacrifices. . . I heard john been executed at GITMO... For child sacrifice, adrenachrome.... Also, cruise, senior, here, baldwin, sheen, madonna, gaga, the queen. Sandler, n many many others.
I love John and most of his movies. I'm glad this video was kind to him. Though there are those looking for controversy, he's not a controversial figure. He's a good man who just lost a beautiful, wonderful wife. Whether he has a come back or not, I wish him nothing but the best. RIP Kelly!!
I didn't realize how many movies he's played in until recently. He's a talented actor. He's has his share of losses in his life. His son, his wife and his dear friend Olivia Newton John. Hope he's holding up ok. 🙂
Travolta seems to actually love acting - he's at a point that he'll try all sorts of acting roles just for the experience. And sometimes it works great and sometime it sucks. He's like Michael Cain - he keeps working. AND - I think Travolta will have a few more groundbreaking, successful and popular roles and a whole bunch of stinkers too, before his acting career is over.
Face-off is the reality of the saying "if you stick 1000 monkeys with typewriters in a room......." If you stick 2 weird as hell actors on a set and point cameras at them, eventually you'll get brilliance.
@jake elwood plus if you also use a director well known for his love of DOVES , Overblown Gunplay and male bonding then he can steer these two weird actors into brilliance! {
weird as hell ? so you know them personally or just their character roles and what the media wants you to see ? maybe one day you'll realize how your perception is manipulated or maybe not. who knows, you might be weird as hell
@@JohnSmith-ue3xm righto mate. One's a Scientologist who's behaviour is bizarre, bordering on creepy. And the other is Nicolas Cage whose spending habits don't need an explanation as to why that makes him weird as hell. You sound bizarrely upset by my comment, what upset you? I'll point out I equated this movie with Shakespeare so I obviously think it's brilliant. Also I said they were weird, not that they weren't brilliant actors. Often genius comes from weirdness. "Media spin" this isn't some major political conflict or decision. Watch their interviews, the media doesn't need to "spin" answers that clearly aren't edited and are often repeated over several platforms and outlets. Lastly, did you like your own comment???? That's pretty sad bud. And yeah, I'm happy to be weird as hell, makes me an individual. Better than being another drone.
jake elwood I liked your original comment and your response. It’s ironic what triggers ppl nowadays. I’m not perfect and tbh it’s crazy what triggers me as well to be perfectly honest. And I think really smart and Good people have weirdness in them. I know I do. How else can you live in this world and make it through. By being sheep? NO BY BEING WEIRD AND PROUD OF IT!
Amazing come back for Travolta, reversing his good looks and singing career to become one of the best 'bad guys' we all love to watch - Travolta remains one of my favorite actors to date.
He was the coolest villain in face off and broken arrow. I have no idea what the hell happened on the punisher lol ever since then he hasn't been as cool. Still a huge fan.
@@LouSevrix I agree From Paris with Love was a great one up there with atleast Face Off and Broken Arrow. But Swordfish is as bad as the Punisher performance. He tries to overact in a sense that he thinks that's the correct tone to portray 🙈
He was supported early in his career by Scientology...check out his radio interview he did back in the Welcome Back Kotter years; he had such a drive back then and still does. I love this guy.
John Travolta, has always been my favorite actors. I saw most of his movies. I didn't care what religion he was, or about his personal life. It was a movie with him in it. Every actor has ups and downs. You forgot to mention that he is very intelligent, and that he has been an airplane pilot for a long time. Sorry for your losses Mr.Travolta.
I don’t care about the flops or his stupid religion. I love him. He seems like a good guy and he’s made enough good movies to deserve some respect. If you only counted Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty he’s done more than most in Hollywood.
Stupid religion lmfao, it's a cult that stunted on the FBI so hard they stopped treating them like a cult. Shut the fuck up bro, you support that cult, you support really fucked up shit.
JT is multi-talented and multi-layered. This is why every film he makes is significant . . . particularly insofar as the zeitgeist of the time. He has a body of work (as well as does Eric Roberts) that can resonate with all walks of life. I rarely pay attention to critics . . . as a side issue: the writers of these JT films deserve recognition as well . . . it is really not about what the critics think, it is about what the /writer/director/actor wants to convey . . . critics and other pundits need to labor to discover the subtext . . . what does the 'character' want?
Love John travolta, his acting. So many different types of movies and played all extremely well. The older he got the better he got. If it was musical, comedy, action, drama he did all well. I could never get tired of watching him. I’m so sorry that he has had to deal with so much loss. I wish him well and hope he continues to make movies
John Travolta is my hero. I love him for similar reasons that I love Geena Davis... who cares if they've had 'ups-and-downs' in their careers? I thought taking risks was like every actors duty. He is incredibly handsome, both inside and out.
He's gorgeous and a brilliant talent in many areas. I still remember watching him as Vinnie Barbarino and had such a crush. John's had so much heartbreak amidst his career highlights and flops, yet he always seems to remain charming. I'd like to see him work with Tarentino again too. Ah, Pulp Fiction: what a spectacular movie and performance by JT and all of his fellow actors and actresses. Love the guy.
I really enjoy your channel, most of the time. When I saw this in my feed, I was like, '32 minutes', wtf can he talk about in regards to Mr. John Travolta for 30 plus minutes? Well you got it in there, and thank you for the massive number of movies I never need to stream. You are a blessing, thank you.
His kid's death could have been, almost certainly, prevented if his regressive church with it's obscure, archaic beliefs around medical treatment hadn't interfered. That was a bit of a misstep i'd say.
Exactly. Happened to my 3rd cousin back in the day. He died because they wouldn't take him to the hospital. I still resent scientology and the idiots that follow it for that. Don't get me wrong, I love Travolta and all his acting but I do not like his choice of religion!!!
Best dancing was in the movie "Michael" in my opinion. It was really well done with the ladies "joining" him to dance together. All things considered, I think "Michael" was one of Travolta's finest films.
My personal Travolta favorites: Saturday Night Fever, Blow Out, and Pulp Fiction. And they couldn't be further apart genre wise. Great range in other words; imo. Legend!
Travolta is a master actor, nobody has survived so many decades with so many great acting parts. Sure you have some bad movies, but the acting is always good. The guy is a natural. And don’t count him out, he’s got some more awards left to win.
I just laugh to myself whenever one of these "whatever happened to.." comes along. Because the answer is always, well, what happens to anyone...they got old.
@@Jdb63 Half of those I mentioned were women. Lillian Gish who I mentioned had a career ranging from the silent era to the 1980s so even back then it was not unknown.
He auditioned for Carrie and Star Wars simultaneously (George Lucas was too nervous to interview actors, so got Brian De Palma to double up the auditions).

My absolute favourite actor. I choose to keep John Travolta the man and John Travolta's characters separate. Yes his life experiences help to channel some of his characters but his beliefs and what happens in his personal life are none of my business. I respect him as a person and professional. These WTF Happened videos are exceptional, the best cinematic career recap out there. I've really enjoyed reminiscing some of my favourite movies and discovering new ones.
Phenomenon and Michael are two of my favourite films. But nothing beats the outrageously fun batshit insanity of Face Off. Nic Cage and John Travolta in the one movie swapping faces. What a great time to be alive!!
Your end statement was perfect. Who gives a shit what John believes in or what he does in his private life. It's always fun to see John Travolta, whether in a movie or in real life. He's one hell of a nice guy and he's John Travolta no matter what. I just found out Kelly passed away, just over a month ago (July 12th) ! Im so sorry for John. This is one of those really low points in his life . I love you, John.
@@SA-zoom1 Kind of. Some actors join Scientology and their career doesn't suffer. Tom Cruise still appears in pretty enjoyable and commercially successful films whatever his private life is like... So no, I don't think Scientology did it, although Battlefield Earth is a really, really bad film.

Some are just jealous and like to see one fall. We all have our highs and lows in life. I especially loved how he could play so many different rolls and especially Primary Colors and his earlier movies.

He turned up in Norfolk UK about 2 months ago, and spoke to people in supermarkets and rstaurants and had his pictures taken with people, he was very friendly, smiley and kind, he was only about 1 mile away from me at home and id have loved to have seen him...you just DONT expect to see John Travola in your local area in East Anglia UK! very very talented man and very approachable it seemed.

His name may have been tossed in the ring but I doubt he was ever seriously in the running for that role. He doesn't do movies where he isn't 100% the leading man or at least on the same level as the leading man. His acting is just too method.
I hope he make another movie with Quentin because they work well together. John Travolta is a Legend and I wish him well. I'm sorry for his loss. Kelly Rest in Peace.
Could you do one of these with Nic Cage? He has really had an interesting career, with his early comedic roles, then an action star in the late 90’s and 00’s. Then slowly diving into madness from there on out. Would love to hear you guys’ take on this
It's crazy to see how similar Nicolas Cage & Tavolta's careers have been the last 20 years. Can't wait for Nick to get the boost he DESERVES with the Tiger King series, especially with the younger generation so they can witness greatness!
Pulp Fiction is such a wild ride! One of my all time favorite movies for sure! The first time we saw it in the theaters I remember seeing people walk out on it!?😝
Very good video, John Travolta is known for being very easy to work with and is genuinely one of the nicest people in Hollywood and that is one of the reasons he continues to work.
The complete batshit craziness of Scientology aside I think Travolta just doesn't have the discernment to determine what rolls are a good fit. I've seen a fair few of his films including Gotti and it just seems that he takes whatever project comes his way whether he's right for the part or not. Pulp Fiction, Broken Arrow and Swordfish were his best films that I have seen. Yes, I've seen Grease and Hairspray and no I don't like them, but not because of Travolta. They're just not my type of film. Anyway, I think he'll make a comeback. Good luck to the man.
Did you mention Swordfish? Did I miss it? There were quite memorable scenes in that one. Great movie. Not sure how the CGI has held up because I haven't seen it in a while, but it was pretty effing awesome when I saw it back in the day.
Of course his church recommended him to go back to work. How else would they get all of their money? Still, poor family. Must have been hell for the family.
The only problem with Staying Alive is that Sylvester Stallone trained him as well as directed the movie. Stallone is smart and very artistic but Travolta's body while "hot" didn't look like most dancers. John has been the only person I have heard from Scientology to say that "it's not for everybody". Watch his interview from The Inside the Actor's... something, can't remember the name of it. Watch Robin Williams "interview", if you need to laugh. It's basically a 2 hour Robin Williams stand-up routine. His mind was so fast, I can't imagine what he was like when he was doing cocaine. I'm sure I saw some of it on Mork and Mindy, but most of that footage is probably stored away somewhere.
I was lucky enough to meet John late last year when he came to Australia, my son had got me VIP tickets. I am disabled so one security guy took us back through the kitchen for our meet, greet & photo. Damo was his name I think & he was great, told all these people to 'MOVE BACK' so we could get in line, then he left. lol ANOTHER security guy took my walker!! John reacted out & took my hand to help me onto the tiny stage. I was so happy. He was a lovely man though, now, looking back, his mind must of been thinking of home & his family. I know that Kelly would of wanted him to come all this way to see his fans, a true professional. I know Kelly is in no pain now & John must miss her so much so thank you Kelly, for making my dream come true in meeting your husband.

@Nolan Is Innocent Touché, I guess that is true, but my 3rd cousin died because that part of the family wouldn't take him to a hospital because they were scientologists. Being happy is one thing but killing your own child is another. It's okay for them to kill themselves and not go to the hospital but my cousin never got a chance to live. I guess that is why I am so against it. But yes, adults should do what makes them happy as long as they're not hurting anyone else. :)
If you think that Scientology is okay, then watch the Leah Remini series on it. It broke my heart to think how people suffer following the cult leader. They believe that ALL bad in your life is your fault and you caused it. Even cancer, rape and other horrid things.
His movies are either great or suck , never anything in the middle. I am old enough to remember watching Welcome Back Cotter and seeing his first 3 films in the theater..barely.. But my favorite Travolta and one of my top 10 films is Pulp Fiction, awesome movie!
What I took away, is that JT has had more peaks and crashes than any actor in the history of the moving image. I'll happily agree that The Fanatic is horrific - but he's bounced back from similar before. It almost endears me to him - he's still doing random-shite, and some will work out, some won't, but he keeps on going - he will never quit.

Halle Berry I think just wanted to focus on being a mom. Sharon Stone seems like she got tired of acting and wasn't getting the bombshell type roles anymore. James Woods doesn't have the correct political opinions, so he's a pariah. Mel Gibson is too big and too famous, plus he keeps his mouth shut about his views at least publicly. and Vince Vaughn is at least a "libertarian" which is somewhat tolerable for Hollywood. James Woods isn't a big enough star to say what he thinks and still have a career.
I was a teenager when I saw Battlefield Earth in the 90s, I liked it well enough. I had not previously been made aware that it was based on l. Ron Hubbard's nonsense, so I went into it with no existing prejudice. It will never be known whether or not I might have disliked it more, had I known its original source. There were a couple things that they certainly could have easily made better, but I could probably sit through it again... ....with a few beers.
So...he makes fun of himself and says "when I was young, I thought it was about ancient Greece".. and your self esteem is so, soooo low, that you think it's necessary and clever to jump on him for something he already made fun of himself for? And "very young" could mean he was 4 when he first saw this? When I was around 5-6 in 1983, and we had a free HBO weekend? I'd see Grease in the TV listings and had no idea what it was about. You wonder why people say youtube commenters are the dumb.

I'm 22 years old. I was watching Twins a couple of weeks ago. that day i came to know that Kelly preston died at an early age :( i went through her instagram profile and noticed how in her 2 year long battle with breast cancer, plus dealing with a pandemic and at the time when she was nearing her death, she was smiling and was looking as beautiful as she was in her youth. Travolta and Kelly lost their eldest son more than a decade ago, their daughter is 21 and their younger son is 10, it often scares me how they have dealt with the death of their mother at such a tender age
This was by far the funniest video the narrator has done. Laughed thru out. The funniest for me is when narrator says "John played an angel who dances, smokes, and does other sinful things" 😂
