Hey everyone, just a quick note. Glenn has made this statement on Discord about the current wording on Arana: "Her ability is largely implemented like Aunt May's, but I agree the wording we shipped isn't clear relative to existing cards. We'll look into it."
Wow the text literally says GIVE but now they're changing it to iron fist. WHY DIDN'T THEY SAY "AFTER" WHEN DESIGNING THE CARD!?! But that still doesn't change the fact that they ordered +2 power first before stating move right, I can't believe they read that and let it run. I do believe a bounced ghost spider will be fixed eventually though
I HAVE BEEN COMMENTING ABOUT GHOST SPIDER NOT WORKING ON RANDOM MOVE VIDEOS (none on this channel I think). but people have been condescendingly telling me I'm stupid after testing exactly 1 ghost spider game and it working for them. I'm a move gamer, I play move as my main deck, and I've been trying to warn people about ghost spider not working. She's literally been broken for weeks, and I've lost huge 8 cubers because of it. Finally, after all this time, Alex and Regis have brought it up today. A small win and vindication for me.
Thank you for mentioning the ghost spider bug. A similar bug was around for a while with bouncing ghost spider and it has been super frustrating. Really happy to see a big snap content creator mentioning it because that will likely mean it gets fixed soon.
The text is indeed misleading, either they fix it and make it act like Forge, or they should change the text by adding "after" and give anyone who bought Arana a free spotlight key, or 6000 tokens refund for those who bought the card with tokens.
I am going to be real I have no idea why the community wants her to be power crept forge. Like I get the wording was wrong and they could give refunds but option 1 is not a real option
It almost feels deceptive, I know myself and friends would've held keys and maybe passed, if we knew it functioned like "After" you play your next card. I'm worried it's going to be a second dinner "whoops we should've added 'After' to be more clear - we added it now, sorry bout that"
Hey Alex idk if you saw it while streaming but chat was straight up lying about how ssm activate works. if you activate him before you play a card he’ll merge into nothing, figured I’d let you know for your own sanity lmao
The wording definitely makes it sound like she buffs first and moves later, the actual effect makes no sense. I don't think it was intentional but SD really baited everyone with this card
I don’t see how it wasn’t assuming it’s not a bug. It’s not like they don’t have anyone internally who watches content creators. They would’ve heard how all of them were explaining the card the last month and easily could’ve clarified if they were wrong. They chose not to. If the cards not broken it’s purely them wanting the most money possible
WOWW honestly I read the ability as it’s currently working, that’s why I was a little confused why you and Cozy were high on Brood with her! But your explanation def changed my mind, they should def word it differently because she does read how you thought seeing the examples!
@@avibuhnik I'm on the fence with which to replace because although you have more consistency with Hulk Buster, specifically with Deadpool or Nimrod, Nico bringing both the ability to give +2 to the next played card or destroy to draw 2 is just too good. Plus she has everything Arana has built into her kit too since Nico can also move a character, assuming you get the ability. I played a Beast bounce deck to bounce back cards like Carnage to destroy again. I often could hit Nico to make more use of her abilities. Had a time where I got +2 to use on Deadpool then bounced it back and had her destroy to draw 2 come up. Lots of utility.....man this is hard.
@@avibuhnik Hm, been thinking of that... I have the WORST luck when it comes to Niko's spells. Always a change location, or double Nikos power on the first few turns, blechh!
It's interesting, because if it worked like forge (and the text implies) I don't think it would do what you are expecting either. Forge works while the card is face down, so it would do the +2 and the move while face down, and we would end up with the 3 broods on the right location. And then it would not work for the move cards. For the effect to work the way you say, the effect would need to be split in two: first the +2, then the on reveal, and then the move. I don't know the wording, but something like : "Give the next card you play +2 Power and afterwards move it to the right."
Hahaha, that last game starting at 20:44 was me. I'll play random cards under Arishem to satisfy specific Alliance goals and nothing else LOL. Funny that Alex didn't notice it was Arishem nor that it obviously wasn't a real build. But definitely well played sir! Hat's off!
I agree the text is confusing, but I definitely think she is still working as intended. It wouldn't make any sense for her effect to work the way you are describing. And On Reveal cards effect HAS to resolve before moving on the the next effect in chain. Forge works on Brood the way it does because Forge's effect as On Reveal technically resolves right after you play him, before you even play your next card. But for Araña's effect as an Activate card to work it has to happen after the card she is affecting has fully resolved. It wouldn't make any sense for the order to be "Brood Reveal--> Araña Activation resolve (somehow pausing Brood's effect in the middle of it still resolving)--> then Brood's On Reveal resolves." It has to go "Brood Reveal--> Brood's On Reveal resolves--> then Araña's Activate can resolve too."
See this is the kind of release that INFURIATES me. Not because I care that it's bad, but because I fully expect them to change it to be good the way we expected it to be *right after the spotlight ends*. Then everyone who didn't get it is screwed.
Wow and of course it took me 4 spotlight keys to get..... smh. I was so sure it be good that getting it right away was gonna be a no brainer..... now i feel like i got no brain..... and of course the random card was a card i already had so i got a mere 1000 tokens...... they need to change that so bad man...... im missing so many 4 and 5 series cards for me to be getting a repeat which then turns into so few tokens.... it leaves such a bitter feeling
I got her on my first spotlight cache and it feels bad so I can't imagine how you're feeling They really need to fix the system so you receive 3000 tokens at the very least if you open a duplicate
I love Snap with all my heart but the text inconsistency is just too much. They should change the text asap when something deems inconsistent like Legends of Runeterra did.
Oh damn now that you mentioned it--I also tried using a Bounced Ghost Spider in conjunction with Arana but the combo didn't work. I thought I messed up the order or something.
Too many new $100 bundles to make and coming up with new ways to scam our tokens off us, not enough resources to make sure the game works and fix card progression
Almost bought this first thing, but i stopped myself because i thought about you saying wait till the end of the week. I figured Id wait for this video and now it seems like ill be waiting even longer. Id even decided to use my tokens instead of keys as im not a fan of the other varients 😅
She’s still good in other shells. I used tokens to get her cause I don’t need the other variants I. The spotlight. I don’t regret spending the tokens because I’ve been using her in destroy and of course move. Going to try Phoenix force as well. Just because she doesn’t work with Brood doesn’t mean she’s not a 3 and a half to 4 star card.
I'll try to mess with her and see if I can find anything good. I didn't own Ms Marvel or Sage, so I was going to pull for this week even if Arana was terrible.
It makes sense how its working currently. Every other activate card lets the on reveals finish first before the activate takes effect. So if you play brood, then the broodlings would spawn, then the original brood would get the buff and move. Makes sense
since we're talking about bugs, can we bring up kate bishop? if you're hand is full, but she still owes your hand a card, she will continue to try to add, and you can't play. you basically time out the turn after you play her.
I'm testing Arana in destroy as a 1-1 Forge and so far she feels ok, can't say if better than Hulkbuster, but ger timing is much more lenient and easier to facilitate.
She works fine in surfer for Shaw. Sucks you can’t duplicate the power with brood I agree but Shaw eats up her buff like candy. Especially turn 5 with Forge Shaw.
was so insanely disappointed while i was testing her out, it really feels like i wasted keys on her and madame web especially since move is STILL not good enough to be out here competing (regularly) with some of these other archetypes. atleast if you're an individual without the blessed mind of MOLT
Move is still bad, because it still lacks heavy hitters. There's still only a single 6 cost move card and he's a series 1. We need stronger movers. The biggest issue is all the movers are like less than 3 power. Move would be so much better if they just gave some higher base power, imagine is strange was a 4/7! The problem with move is you don't get any power ynless you combo-combo-combo like crazy moving for the sake of moving! And even after that you filled your board with several 2 power/ 1 power cards.
I think the biggest problem with move is that since it only tries to win 2 locations most of the time, all you need is one shadow king OR shang-chi to completely shut down the move player's gameplan - leading you to lose lots of 8-cube games. This is why move is one of the worst decks you can play in Conquest mode.
As someone who got arana I’m pissed. Been playing three months and it seems like second dinner is terribly ran. They ota cards the week after it’s in a cache to trick people into buying; and now with this they either mislead the community with the txt to trick people into buying it, or they’re so incompetent that they can’t roll out a new card that works. Ludicrous and horrible business practices.
Thats absolutely not how it is. You can actually look at every card they released and most of them doesnt get changed. there are very few cards that actually gets changed
@@Rambrus0 you realize they plan otas and patches yes? Just like they plan caches. So they 100% do ensure the cache comes before the nerf. They did the same thing with Loki last month. They blame increased use but they create the increased use with the cache. It’s all knowledge they have.
@@notgp377 Loki is an extreme case… There are only a very few cases where the card is nerfed right after coming out. You can go trough every card released this year and you will realise this
I think the disconnect is that the developers expected us to understand that any Activate ability that affects a played card isn't going to trigger until after that card has revealed. The "after the card is revealed" is supposed to be implied by it being an Activate ability. The problem is that the ability is two weeks old and this is literally the second card that uses it. It's something that will be obvious with time but in this moment is frustrating because there's some ambiguity where players have been left to draw their own conclusions. It's a bummer! Also, fix Ghost Spider, holy crap!
The first game with forge shows why Arana will never really be able to work like him. He procs while the effected card is face down. If we want Arana to add the power before the reveal, it would also have to move before the reveal, making it worthless to move climbers. So for Brood, we'd really like it go A -> B -> A, A adding power, then B revealing, then A moving B, which yah would be epic, but totally unreasonable. :/ So rewording it to simply be a fully "after it plays" thing makes the most sense.
Took me a few games to get used to how she works too. Shame about the Bounce Bug though. Only tried her in Phoenix Force and it's great there, pretty much.
Looks like order of operations for activate cards is. After you activate next card, it plays its on reveal, then the activate happens. Example with symbiote/panther, panther reveals and doubles, activate triggers merge, on reveal again. Otherwise it would add its power then do the on reveal effect once. So Brood would reveal, make broodlings then Arana activates. I'd imagine if you symbiote a brood you'd only get one big brood or broodling depending on what he attached to
You have to remember that move actions always happen first. They did that a couple of patches ago. The spider gwen is a bug, and surprised that happened and came out.
Would love to see a Heimdall update. Move's turn 6 is very predictable. Go tall in the middle lane and make sure you have more than 10 power in the right and you'll win most matches. If there was a way to make him go right or left, that might be the shot in the arm move needs.
Love phoenix, So I bought it. Love to see phoenix getting some love with these activates like symbiote and araňa. Only bad thing is when you have it everyone aside of bots will scoop
I've played A TON of move, the problem isn't the lack of movers, the problem is the lack of buff cards that get moved. You draw the nut SO rarely (vulture, dagger AND movers) that it makes your hands 80% of the time garbage. Move will not be a competitive deck until they release another buff card i.e. vulture or dagger.
@@Rambrus0 you certainly don't have to, no. But considering that they are charging you for one of the only two resources you have to acquire new cards? There's very little reason to believe that those will move beyond whales not having anything else to do with them. Sure, some non-whales will choose to buy them, but that's really terrible value.

Soooo....sorry random stranger that loves to judge people on the internet...yes, I couldn't wait this time. And I still hate the hype that content creators put on all these Cards and I hate the monetisation system of this Game. But I love Alex videos!!
For the PF deck I replaced Ghost Spider and it worked quite well. Nico is too useful and Symbiote is a back up to Shuri that I didn’t want to take out. Also Ghost Spider has been bugged for a while now, I had the same thing happen about a month ago.

My biggest issue with Arana is that if you bounce her you can’t activate her again. I definitely hope that gets changed in the future, because I definitely feel replaying the card warrants another use of her activate
I thought she would only give the plus 2 after the card moved. If the card never moved they don’t get the plus 2. So she’s better than what I predicted. It would be nice if she buffed before the cards reveal, but I don’t think she needs it. Just a text change to better indicate what happens is all she needs.
I've been trying out different one drops in Zoo and Arana has been good to me. It can buff Blue Marvel, which usually cant buff himself for one additional point for Gilgamesh. I have her over Nico atm, I'll test her more
So I see that they'd already changed Arana text to reflect it's actual intended effect. It seems they neve wanted it to work like Forge in the first place.
Move REALLY needs another payoff. Spider-Man 2099 was supposed to be another one, but, suffice to say, he's completely failed. Multiple Man just clutters you further, and Kraven is playable, but underwhelming compared to the big 3 (Human Torch, Dagger, and Vulture). Basically, I just REALLY want a 2099 buff lol.
Not only that. All archetypes need a Death equivalent. Cost 1 less if 1 card moved. Also a Knull equivalent. Add the power of all cards that moved this turn

What if they had a move knull? “Ongoing:retains the power of all power gained through movement” +5 from vulture move,plus whatever human torch gains ect
Lockdown works pretty well with her. I can make places that are if war maxgine don't show up i can at least place something down. Either on evony Maw or movng ceissbones from a labe im winning to one i wish to contest .
Yeah... The wording of Arana seems disingenuous on SD's part. As is, she reads the exact same as Forge and also suggests a different sequencing altogether. "Activate: *AFTER* you play your next card, -give the next card you play +2 Power and move- move it to the right *THEN* give it +2 Power" is a far more accurate summation of what Arana does.
Problaby the biggest problem is ghost spider in bounce arana would be so good, but it just doesn’t work, ghosr sp is the best move card and without isn’t the same

I feel like the unclear wording is a huge deal, and SD aren't treating it as big of a deal as it is. It literally does not work as the text says, and people would have keyed her for power, and then move. There's like barely any text on cards, no idea how they screw up that hard.
I tought i was insane when ghost spider work couple days ago in two different games, i tought i mess the order when i didn't glad to see i'm not insane 😅
