The new Wutai Government has sent an elite operative & Materia hunter, Yuffie to infiltrate Shinra Corp. Her mission is to steal their ultimate materia. Upon arriving in Midgar, Yuffie seeks members of Avalanche to assist her mission. Yuffie meets Billy Bob, Nayo & Polk. Polk & Yuffie play a mini-game called Fort Condor. After some mini games, Polk sends Yuffie to find Chadley. Looking for Chadley, Yuffie meets Johnny who is having financial trouble. To make some money Johnny challenges Yuffie to Fort Condor. Making her way through the markets, she meets Wedge, Wymer, Roche & Jessie. Finally meeting up with Chadley, He asks Yuffie if she’s interested in his research. Let’s play!

The writing and acting (Suzie did an epic job) really bring to life just how young Yuffie is. Sometimes it was hard to tell in the OG, but she’s so much more fleshed out and real now. I can’t wait to see the dynamic between her and the rest of the party now she’s no longer constrained to optional dialogue :)

LOL the best Happy Turtle Jingle is the metal one ! Maybe you liked that one, But they did 6 different jingles just for that side quest. That DLC is really gtreat ! I can't wait to see you playing the rest of DLC :)

Yay! It’s finally time for Yuffie’s Story! It’s time to become a member of Wutai’s Finest! 😊💚🌼 This DLC was fantastic, a wonderful introduction to Yuffie and a perfect “intermission” as it were, leading into what will be FF7 Rebirth! 😊💜🌼

This dlc takes place right after the second bombing run (mako reactor 5). So the main cast has just beaten a boss called the Airbuster. However, in the aftermath of the fight, Cloud fell from the platform the battle took place on…all the way down to the slums and through the roof of a church (I hope something was able to break his fall). That means during this dlc Could is getting to know our favorite flower girl Aerith, as she has just hired Cloud as her bodyguard. Meanwhile Tifa and Barrett worry about Cloud, with Tifa being most concerned about how shinra plans to retaliate and what connection Don Corneo has to shinras next move. She hatches a (terrible) plan that ultimately leads to her teaming up with Cloud and Aerith….and I’m sure you know the rest from there ;)

At parts the DLC seemed to be more polished than the main game. (The main game was polished though, too). But you could feel the improvement (combat etc). Cant wait for the next mainline FF7 title.

21:02 I wondered about that arm guard thing she wears, for actual years since playing the OG as a kid. Then, after getting the translated Final Fantasy 7 - 8 - 9 Ultimania book, I spotted the answer in a piece of concept art. The notes were translated to it being HALF A JACKET. That's a jacket sleeve!! And it was a holdover from her original character concept as a rogue SOLDIER. That's neat!?

It’s actually a piece of armor called kote in samurai’s armor. It’s usually an undergarment before you put the infamous samurai gauntlet. Wutai being influenced by east asian culture in concept design borrowed this piece of clothing and added more industrial flare to yuffie’s garb. Oh the chest part that attaches into it is actually japanese archery female chest guard piece. So they kinda blend it together

1:07:57 - When Yuffie got into Midgar, Scarlet was on TV talking about how the Sector 5 Mako Reactor had just been bombed - the second Avalanche mission in the game. At about this point in time, Cloud just dropped in on a certain florist that you happen to be the voice of. 😉🙂

Fort Condor is basically rock paper scissors. Defence beats attacker, attacker defeats long range attacker, long range attacker defeats defence. Glad to see you playing this DLC Brianna. Great video series!

Funnnn fact: I may not be a real OG gamer but I've been reading my dad's game guide... Fort Condor is based off of the Condor Fort Event in the OG. It's similar, but you're defending an actual fort, not playing a game. Also, it's how you get one of the Huge Materia. Yeah! Boring nerd fact!

Yuffie's combat is amazing, I find it funny when people say the DLC is too short when it's begging to have multiple playthroughs, I've racked up 30 hours on it. My last run was a hard mode run with Sonon rocking an enfeeblement ring so Yuffie can handle it on her own, It's a really fun challenge that tests Yuffie to the max. I love what they've done with Yuffie's character in this she keeps the spirit of her original character but she's funnier, Cuter and clumsier. Seeing how she interacts with the rest of the party is one of the things I'm most looking forward to in rebirth. She's a sparkplug personality whos very different to the rest of the group if we get far enough to meet Cid their the best comedy duo.

So from what I gathered, this took place right after the bombing of sector 5 reactor. Cloud hooked up with Aerith, Tifa is heading to Wall Market. So yeah, the plate hasn’t fallen yet :) Hope that helps with the timeline :) I still am having difficulty grabbing a PS5, so it’s awesome to finally see this, and I love your reactions. Keep up the good work :)

Simple idea behind Fort Condor is it is rock-paper-scissors. Each unit is red, green, or blue, with one being weak to another but strong against the third. Some strategy is needed for higher level opponents, but for the weaker ones, just look at what they're using and throw things that are strong against them.

20:45 - I haven't really thought about it before, but all of a sudden, I'm curious... I wonder just how many of those number-tattooed black-cloaked figures there are! Cloud and company already encountered several... In the original FFVII, it wasn't possible to see the number tattoo, the game had to tell the player, IF a dialogue box was even an option!

38:15 Yuffie's remake character is modeled after someone in rural Japan, where the ideas of city life were modeled after 1980s Tokyo when it's now 2010 or so. You tell her Wall Market is basically Vegas or Kabukicho (red light district) and she has no clue what you're talking about.

I am surprised that "Fort Condor" is a board game in Midgar... In the original VII, there is an actual fort with an actual large over-sized condor sitting on top of it, protecting an egg. Shinra wants something out of Fort Condor for some odd reason, but people living in the fort take it upon themselves to protect the condor. There is a mini-game within the game based on this, deploying traps and guards to fend off Shinra's troops and monsters, but it wasn't a board game for amusement.

@@gibbs615 I don't know if I should say this, but my first introduction to Yuffie and Final Fantasy in general was through the Kingdom Hearts games (yes, I like Final Fantasy and those games as well) and honestly, I wouldn't have minded them including this into those games. Although she did introduce herself as the "Great Ninja Yuffie", so I suppose that part of her made some small appearance. Still, it's an enjoyable part of her character.

@@gibbs615 Maybe someday I will do so or at least see a walkthrough. I guess I am trying to surprise myself so far. I am watching the walkthrough of Crisis Core both because I like how this let's player does her gaming and to gain more insight. I know of Sephiroth to some degree having taken an interest in him when I first faced him, but more background is always welcome. I find that there are some people who do not like Kingdom Hearts and like Final Fantasy and vice-versa. I can't say I fully understand why since the latter is half of them former. Then again, I have been told that my mind is a little odd. At any rate, I am told that the next game in this series is coming soon so I have that to look forward to.

Is it just me or does it seem that PlayStation moves from one version to the next faster than they used to? I need to get a PS5, and it seems as though it was only a few years ago that I got a PS4. @@Coldsilfur4 of the top of my head The Witcher 3. I tried to extend it a much as I could by doing pretty much all the content, but , after leaving section 7, you're in a path that leaves little to do other than the main story (there is the combat trials though). That's why most playthroughs you see on yt are about the 4h mark.
