I think you haven’t watched the livestream program The devs already took feedback and changed and improved all of the echo system problems The stream was delisted but you can watch it through link Not only echo system also many new changes and improvements like animation,sound, va, story quests etc.

About the story, I think Star Rail has better story and lore than Genshin since the of it only occurs in one planet whereas in Star Rail every planets has lore behind it.

I think Hoyo keeps their game the way it is because they have a strategy to keeping players stuck to their games only Like the Story patches of Genshin which is generally goes for 3 version (for Fontaine it was v4.0, v4.1, v4.2) then it does filler or some character story till next region. During this filler they will add major story to other games like Star Rail which did happen as Penacony story started after Fontaine story ended. Same is Happening with Natlan as the Penacony Story is about to end Natlan is coming closer Between this they will probably release ZZZ keeping all the events short and easy just to keep players engaged and games of variety so players won't burn down and circling in Hoyo's games only Which is evident after seeing each month's gacha revenue reports This way, niche players will get distributed in different games and still remain in Hoyo's games And I remember Hoyo talking about making a Hoyo Universe where all things were connected, so that could be the grand scheme to all things. sorry but it takes more than dmc like combat to beat genshin, first you need blizzard level visuals at the very least and it already fails hard on that. The game is also more demanding to run so there is that. Story, world building, character interactions, lore, music and many many other things. There is a reason genshin has 65 million players. Just drop a dmc style combat game with bland looking characters and you get players?? I dont think so.

If I am not wrong gacha Game's are live service game meaning they will get story and gameplay extended long time to time
