Thanks for posting. Nice to see all the similar messages of fond memories of one's father, mother, parents watching or recording this.........that's exactly what it reminds me of..... Father used to audio tape the Wall Street Week.

Ahh, this is such a Friday night sound from my childhood, though I grew up near Philadelphia, not Cleveland. My father loooved "Washington Week in Review", and then he and my mother would keep the channel on while this came on afterward. Nothing says "It's Friday night and you're 10 years old quite like the clock chimes and chattering ticker-tape machines as Wall Street Week began...

Along with "Washington Week in Review", Lou and company have headlined my family's weekends growing up here in Central Ohio. I remembering getting all the blankets and pillows off of my bed and bringing them down to the living room to make a nest to sit in while watching.

Before I was born in the year 1998, I never seen programs before on TV and in real life. I was wondering what life in Earth look like before I was born a baby in the late 90s. 😕

My parents used to watch this when I was a child. I always remembered the theme and the scenes of NYC as a kid. Growing up in NYC, it was nice to see something familiar on TV.

My father is summoning a messenger at 1:26. The first version I saw was taken down, so it's good I see there's a duplicate copy on here.

And for the record, this particular W$W was entitled "How Now-The Small Investor?" (program #731). I know, because I saw a online copy of this show's transcript.

I know what you mean. In the same way, I think nothing says noontime on Saturdays like seeing Bill Cosby appear and reappear all over a soundstage designed to look like a junkyard while the bass line for Fat Albert begins. 70's memories.

OMG! When the "Wall Street Week" logo separates, look at those glasses that lady has on! WOW! Typical 70's! How times have changed.

Growing up, Lewis R. looked so much like the Quaker oat man, that I always thought oatmeal had something to do with wall street, or that his show had something to do with quaker oats. And it does, but somehow not in the way I thought.

Micker ink is the magnetic ink lettering appearing on paper checks ; it is used for routing checks

The announcer stumbles at 00:53. The MacNeill -uh- Lehrer Report. I wondered why they used that futuristic font in the WSW opening when the camera pans down the NY Stock Exchange. It seemed a little out of place. It was the same font for the jersey numbers in the 1975 movie Rollerball.

Probably done live, so they couldn't go back and retake it, they just had to keep going.

@Stratman78 I think they used that opening well into the 90's although it looks like it dates back to at least 1970 or 1971.

I don't really remember this show too much, other than that crazy as hell orchestra music.

It actually had a title, if you can believe that. It was called "TWX in 12 Bars", composed by Donald Swartz.

1966-1982.... the Dow very stagnant. Those years must have been very frustrating for many investors.

1981 was the best year since 1934 to buy stocks, if someone had bought 100000 dollars merck or microsoft in 1983 or any other blue chip you would be a millionare by now living on dividends and not caring if the stocks move down
