To be fair the Crimean War brought France and the UK together as allies after centuries of hostility long before WWI. The fact that WWI brought the US and the UK together is far more surprising given the large hatred for the Brits still existing at the time in the US, both due to past aggression and current tensions in the population which was largely driven by the large Irish diaspora within the US. France and the US had for the most part had always been close, minus that brief spat between them in the form of the Quasi War which wasn't all that bloody all things considered. If there is one thing we can take from that point in history tho is that the UK was pretty much hated and or detested the world over with few exceptions being Chile, Peru and Portugal.

@HypnoticChronic1
@HypnoticChronic1 2 года назад
@@diefreikorps9754 I did consider mentioning the Boxer Rebellion however, as it brought nearly all of the global powers together in the Eight Nation Alliance not just primarily France, the UK and the US like Drew mentioned, more over as it was more a alliance of convenience, rather than a hardened political, ideological or economic alliance I chose not to mention it. That being said the Victorian era was one of the most interesting points in history in general, with the Boxer Rebellion being what one could argue was its peak due to seeing all those global powers come together, despite them just years previously jockeying for control over one part of the globe or another. That event itself was also the subsequent inspiration for one of my favorite movies as well 55 Days at Peking so I do have a bit of a soft spot for it in general.
