Footage taken from WW2, 1944 showing a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Taking fire from a US 8th Airforce plane. The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 crashes after a few sprays from the US Fighter.
The original footage was not in good condition, I did my best to restore it but there is still some blur there. Footage has been AI enhanced to 4k, colorized, set to 60fps, and added sound design.

if u watch the plane closely u can actually tell when the pilot kills him. the axix plane shakes his controls the second the pilot were watching opens fire. and proceeding that he doesnt move at all. to meaning he probbaly was actually killed by that first spray in particular.

Yeah that looks very likely, no manoeuvring or movement on those flaps, Unfortunately a casualty of war, just remember these were all husbands or sons giving their lives. But credit to the skills of the attacking pilot he dealt with an enemy effectively to take out a threat.

@@blingbling574 You either have the wrong dates or the wrong aircraft because a prototype of the of the first F-87 didn't fly until 1948 and it wasn't a successful plane. Also fighters in WWII had a P designation. Maybe he flew a P-47?

In WWII most US fighters were armed with 50 cal MGs, but not the normal M2 Browning you seen on tanks or ground vehicles, its the variant AN/M2 50 cals which has a higher rate of fire, that's why in this footage it sounded like a BRRT, although it's not a minigun. In Korean War era, US fighters like Sabre and some others were equipped with newer and higher rate of fire AN/M3 which spits out 1,200 rpm

The sound is DEFINITELY dubbed in. The gun cameras in WWII fighter aircraft were b&w silent. And the fire would be higher because most fighter aircraft of the time were armed with 6 machine guns.

The Allies shot at everything that moved. Shot down German pilots who were hanging from their parachutes were shot to shreds with on-board cannons for general amusement. Old people, women and children became victims of their gun rage. My father's friend was shot off his bike on the way to school. He was seven years old and had to be buried headless. Even hospital trains and ambulances marked with the red cross were repeatedly attacked.

The plane taking him down is an F6F hellcat. Thats 6 12.7mms (50cal) and 2 20mm cannons. You can see the 2 beams of cannon shot & the 12.7mm is APHE loads.

I've seen the silent version of this shoot down more times that I can count and it was all very analytical. Now we hear the sound of the guns firing, the rounds impacting the plane and the impact of the 190 into the ground. The pilot firing never hears anything more than the roar of his engine and the sounds of his guns.

There's no cameraman here. The on-board camera turns on as soon as the pilot fires his machine guns. The pilot has more important things to think about. The footage wasn't meant for our entertainment.

It’s amazing. I’m 42 and was born 37 years after the victory over Europe and when I see these in color, it really hits home. I had my Nonno fighting for Mussolini (no Italian wanted to fight and kill so he was a baker and that was his job on board w the navy. My other grandfather fought for the 🇺🇸 in the Pacific

The filming pilot almost followed what I assume to be an already dead pilot straight into the ground. I can't imagine how intense that situation was. The filming pilot was likely in his 20's too.

My grandpa from Poland served in the Army Air Corps. Navigator, and gunner in the B-26. They never knew anything about his experiences until his funeral when a gentleman he flew with attended and shared everything with my grandmother. He had been searching for him for years but couldn’t find him for the longest time due to him changing our last name. These guys had definitely been through some serious sh*t. Shot down 3 times and fortunately survived but not always did everyone survive. My dad told me my grandpa had this suitcase FILLED with combat footage that my grandfather and his crew filmed. Fast forward to late 80’s and my grandparents are moving to TN from Manhattan. He said my grandfather brought the suitcase outside the apartment building to the side walk to load up. He realized he forgot something and went back in to grab whatever that was. Upon his return his suitcase with ALL of his combat footage was stolen from the street. Never to be seen again. When he told me that, man that sh*t crushed my soul. Especially as a Veteran myself. Would’ve been my single most prized possessions.
