Memorial Day brings back memories of placing flags on the veterans' graves when I was a scout in the 1970s. The former name was Decoration Day. The police bayonet is my favorite style of German bayonet. You have an early 1930 (Weimar long type) that was cut down to the Third Reich style. You can tell by the blood groove. If I remember correctly during the TR period, the police did not worry about the unit markings. Many police bayonets are found mismatched. I have 3 and only 1 match. Nice video and collection.
nice bayonet, i love the RAD flag as well, i noticed that the RAD items are gaining in interest among collectors , ten years ago rad items were at the low end of the hobby, thanks for the vid and the stats.
Just another bit of information. The maker of your frog produced leather goods (frogs, k98 ammo pouches, etc) during the war. They were located in a borough of Stuttgart.
A nice piece. I myself have a police bayonet. Mine is a actual bayonet. Love the stag grips and police insignia. Thanks for sharing. I believe there are two types. Metro and rural. One has a black scabbard and one has a brown. Correct me if I'm wrong. Happy Memorial day weekend.
