For my money, WWE All Stars is one of the most underrated wrestling games ever made. Don't get me wrong, it reviewed quite well, but it doesn't enter the conversation as often as it should have. The over the top physiques, the cartoonish special moves and the death defying action, come on, this game rules. Today on 616Thunder, we'll get a look at Hogan, Edge, Punk, Piper, Hart, Michaels and more. Let's get to it!

Having WWE All-Stars, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 and WWE 12 in such a short amount of time, we really got spoiled with wrestling games that year. This game is still so much fun to play. Imagine if we got All Stars 2 in like 2013 or 2016? The roster inclusions would've been tremendous.

Fun Fact: This game was the spiritual sequel to TNA Impact as the same dev team helped create it. I was a QA tester on it and the OG build we got was basically TNA impact reskinned with these characters :D

I cannot tell you how much I miss games being made for the purpose of being fun. It’s why AEW’s game means so much, and it’s why I have the Destroy All Humans remakes. Simulation is cool, but sometimes I just wanna do some crazy shit and just have some fun.

This game was a breath of fresh air in the WWE games landscape. It is so much fun and deep. i love the impact of the moves and reversals were top notch. There was a sequel in the works but got canned. Battlegrounds could have been but was a missed opportunity in every way.

The most unappreciated and revolutionary wrestling game since the N64 era. Surprisingly deep characters being separated into classes and having their movesets further varied making you have to learn the ins and outs of each instead of it being vanilla across the board was great. As was the multi-knockouts, and multiple player combo moves. Not to mention it being perfectly balanced for online play outside of a few glitched moves which came with the DLC. Also, maybe the deepest reversal system ever allowing reversals of reversals. God this game was so f'n great. It's too bad Battlegrounds was rushed out unfinished, had they got all the moves and taunts in the game...and realized their reversal system was dog poop...it would've been a halfway decent spiritual successor. Still pretty fun though.

The reason why we don’t have a sequel is because wrestling fans didn’t purchase the game. Another reason it didn’t sell well like it’s WWE 2K counterparts on the PS4 and PS3.

Loved it at launch as a kid, and over a decade later, I still love the hell out of this game. It’s SO addicting, that I can’t stop😅. I’m having banger after banger matches left and right, and it gets sweeter and sweeter every time. Now I’m playing Road to Elite, so I can unlock the rest of the mini-games. Thanks for asking, Ian, and what an awesome video today. All Stars will forever be one of the greatest.😊😁

Having kids coming up to tell you things all the time, at least for me was a "fake it till you make it approach" i.e. my son jumping the same height each time and telling me to watch him jump higher (he was 3 at the time). My son is 8 now, and TBH a lot of the things he wants to show me are pretty incredible. Most notably seeing him pull off a lacrosse (The Michigan) style goal at one of his Under 9 hockey tournament games. Aso, seeing his progression over the last year especially in the NHL franchise, raising games, and wrestling games is amazing. He also saved up for his own X-box, so I get to play with him online now, and being a parent with a shared custody arrangment with my ex, finding creative ways to spend more time with my son is necessary. As for games I'm playing right now, I'm on my third go-around in Road to the Elite in Fight Forever and been playing a lot of NHL 23 shootouts and full games either online or LAN with my son.

It would be so cool in the future to see him cover the story mode in this game. Yeah, the gameplay is the same as exhibition mode, but those cutscenes take me back to old ’80s and ’90s style WWF promos in the best way. Also, I forgot about the announcer...I would be remiss if I didn’t say R.I.P. Howard Finkel. 😢💔

It's funny seeing Warrior and Rey. Back in the day, when this first came out, I downloaded the demo and the only two playable people in were Rey and Warrior lol. I played as them a ton because I was too poor to afford the game at the time.

Fun fact the 3ds port of this game actually has extra wrestlers not included in the other ports of the game. And while we are at it All stars is undoubtedly the best WWE game Ds wise, not that the bar was set very high but at least SVR 2010 had a solid ds port

When this game came out in 2011 I wasn’t into the pg era. Lol 😂 I got back into wrestling when Brock Lesnar came back in 2012 and the Rock came back in 2014. Ian you are the reason why I bought this game for my Xbox 360 it’s so much fun to play! I just wish the roster was bigger haha! 🤣😂

Definitely track down the 3DS Version. Just know that it has a bug that the only way to get past is to turn the 3D off before the cut scene starts. I believe it’s the last match(s) only on the Story Mode. It’s been a few years since I last played so I don’t 100% remember exactly where the glitch is just that the game has one.

This game was shallow though. Nothing that happens in the match matters. You can't have feuds or defend a title. I get tired of developers saying, "Well we don't need to include any of that because this is an arcade-y game." Total cop-out and shows they have no passion for their work and not trying to make their game as good as possible.

The signs that Hogan is a racist were all there. We for whatever reason didn't see it. Maybe we don't want to believe the ppl we look up to are scum bags. one thought since Hogan's infamous outting as a racist. I've been thinking back to Hogan knows best season one. Where his daughter Brooke is having a party. Most of if not all were black men. Hogan says something MTV bleeped it out. For MTV to bleep it out it had to be bad. I never thought of what it could be until that video tape leak. I like names you give for moves you use It's creative.
