Nice review. I like the WCW version much better. IMO The Yellow Gold looks nicer on the WCW version than the Bronzish Gold of the WWE version. I like there was no company logo on the NWA/WCW version, which made it look like this was THE World Heavyweight Title, as it was bigger than any company, to have the company logo on it. Like you, I also prefer the detail on the Big Gold plate, as well as the plain nice looking straps on the WCW version.
You know WWE has to get their logo in there on the big gold and as you stated the current title shows you just how much they need the wwe logo to be visible haha
If the WCW belt had the curve to it, it would have been perfect. I was never a fan of the flat main plates. But the fine detail in the WCW belt is unmatched.
First wrestler that comes to my mind when I think of this belt is Batista. Same with John Cena with the spinner belt. Probably because I grew up watching in the ruthless aggression era lol
Nice video. Gotta love the big gold belt. And I couldn't help but notice that for the 70th Birthday of Ric Flair there was a version of it they had made up. I don't have any belts, but if I ever get one the big gold belt (probably the WWE version) is first on my list.
hey man, great video! i agree, i really dislike the flat, ‘pancake’ look to the WCW version! i wouldn’t want the 2mm WWE version, only the 4mm as i think the curve to the plates are very important! right now the WWE 4mm isn’t available, do you think it’s worth hopefully waiting for the WWE 4mm to restock? (I also really like the red backing - something unique and different!)
Thank you! I honestly would wait until they come out with the 4mm again OR keep an eye out for someone to post it online for sale like on offerup etc no need to spend a lot of money for a currently rare title when Wwe will for sure rerelease it or someone will get tired of theirs and you can hopefully pick it up for cheaper than what people are selling them for now.
@@AdamentalityWorld thanks man! also in your opinion, would you say the Fandu ‘Big Gold’ is better than the WWE 4mm version? the acclaimed floppiness on the Fandu version makes me question the durability in the long run? I deffo feel more trusted with the WWE, but don’t wanna miss out on a better, more curved and better quality belt. what do you think? :)
I’ve seen some cool fandu belts but I’ve heard they’re smaller than the 4mm belt. Idk anything about the fandu belt floppiness and I’d be concerned about long term as well. Have you asked any of the people in the Facebook belt groups? I don’t want to mislead you because I know very little about them unfortunately.
I'm looking for a company to purchase the BGB. but I am looking for the WCW version that has the center plate curving. if anyone can recommend a company I would really be greatful.
@@AdamentalityWorld yea i do like a curve in the plates and for 450 bucks looks good but i have to make sure its tbe crumrine version right of the wwe new big gold
The reason why the back strap is red is because the last few years WWE used the Big Gold, the back strap was red. It was a maroon red, which I wish this red was, but that's why it's red.
I got the WWE one from WWE Shop and the WCW one I bought from a guy second hand. I curved the 2mm belts over my knee. I have a video or two showing me do it if that helps. :)
@@SohamSingh-zg7is oh I thought you meant which version of the big gold do I prefer… That’s a hard decision to make. They’re both really great looking titles. The big gold has a more classic look but the spinner is sick, too. Maybe the spinner slightly?
I’d have to go with the WWE Big Gold. I like both but the WWE one narrowly beats out the WCW one. A big reason is the curve the wwe one has. Belts are like women: they’re better with curves imo.
@@AdamentalityWorld I like the back of the WWE big gold with the red, that looks cool. But hey question if you had to choose right now as your first WWE championship belt... the WWE Attitude Winged Championship or the WWE Big Gold... which one would you buy first?
Oooooow it would be close! I love that the red stones in the wwe version are bigger, but the WCW one has more detail. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!!!! haha
@@AdamentalityWorld gotcha. Luckily I was able to score the same WCW belt from your video but with an added curve! I been looking for the 4mm big gold with wwe logo and red backing (same one from your video) so this will make an excellent alternative until we finally get the rumored 3d big gold
Idk it COULD have been. It’s cool but it just seems odd on the back of the big gold just “randomly” to me. I know stone colds has the snake skin backing and that makes sense since he’s the Texas rattlesnake, But was there are red gator wrestler I never knew of? haha
The WCW version is flat. You can tell WWE wants you to think WCW was pure shit. I mean the original Crumrine big gold was flat but it did have some curve to it.
@@AdamentalityWorld oh I know the curve makes it fit a lot better. It looks nicer too. I'm just saying the belt Ric I had in the late 80s had something to it. It was like a fitted curve.
@@AdamentalityWorld it does seem flat but not flat like the replica. No offense to you but that belt seems like an insult to Vince's competition. Anyway there are better big gold's out there. Classic Shields and top rope belts make some really nice belts.
No worries man I didn’t think you were trying to insult me. Wwe just makes them as cheaply as possible so they can make as much money as they can unfortunately.
The WWE version? You’re going to have to wait until WWE Shop makes some more or find someone online in a Facebook group willing to sell one or try OfferUp, LetGo, Craigslist, Amazon, or eBay. Hope it helps!
@@AdamentalityWorld it looks amazing regardless, I have been getting engraved ones from Ebay and got a Randy Orton for my US Replica however it's hard to find that unique font that's actually on TV.
Thank you! Yah I love that font on the Big Gold! I need a name plate for my US title. Thought about getting a Cena or Y2J, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
@@AdamentalityWorld That would be sick! If you need any WCW nameplates this one seller I saved has a few. He has a Jericho which I picked up and it looks good
I’ll probably pass for now but thanks for the info. A Jericho Big Gold name plate would be sick. I met him once and wanted him to hold the Big Gold and big eagle since he was the first ever undisputed champ but it didn’t happen.
@@AdamentalityWorld i have it as well, i love the finish, especially the gold it has, its real gold heated up and they spray this real gold to give it a better finish but they also do it to prevent from corrosion since gold is known for that, thats why pc' parts are becoming expensive cause they have gold inside the motherboards ,semi conductors etc . once you go elite it makes you not want to buy those 499 titles, atleast for me
@@myyoutubepage199 I’ve bought some replicas since the elite because I got lucky with the elite and unfortunately the elites are soooooo expensive haha I almost got an elite WWE title but it fell through because it was not well taken care of 🤷🏻♂️
@@AdamentalityWorld atleast you are a fan, the elite title spoiled me , i had the universal as well the 499 one and i can tell you it looks alot more authentic when u have the elite, i just hate the leather
@@AdamentalityWorld I have Ric Flair's belt Stone Cold spell the original WWF belt the womans championship belt the spinner belt and 1990s world tag team title belts. TNA world title
@@AdamentalityWorld it seems to be 2mm from people I asked but it's not indicated on the website. I even called customer service and they don't know what they're selling😅
I was lucky enough to get a 4mm when they were making them but I know they don’t make them anymore at the moment so it depends on what one is worth to you. I wouldn’t be buying any belts these days with inflation etc…
@@AdamentalityWorld I had to look on Google. This resembles images I recall seeing before. Now I don't know if the belt ever actually looked like this or not, honestly your probably better qualified to tell me if the WHC ever actually looked like this, or if it's just concept art. All I know is WWE's version. But this is the belt I was thinking off, didn't looked damaged to me it just looks like a mixture of silver and gold. I always thought this was WCW version, but I never actually watched WCW so maybe their belt was just all pure gold same as WWE's version. But this is what I was thinking about when I made my comment. Sorry I'm mistaken and this was never a real design. statics.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/05/5c961-15566994524222-800.jpg
The pattern on the WCW is way beautiful , the shape, the leather.... WWE should learn from the old simplistic design, just like the NWA is doing right now ✌🏻✌🏻
@@AdamentalityWorld No worries man, i dont blame you that is a badass belt. I've been looking all week but I do not see any real WWEshop versions with 4mm plates. If you find anything i would really appreciate it if you could share the link. Thanks for your time!
Thanks for at least being willing to buy it instead of wanting it for free like so many other people lol What city do you live in? Offerup is great for looking for belts.
Adamentality World yea I’d like to keep mine more era appropriate wcw with wcw wwf with wwf wwe with wwe gives me a reason to have hogan on a wwf title and Rey mystterio on a wwe lmao tho same company just name change makes it more fun stone colds title would have stone cold cena tho cena sucks cenas name etc I’m more wwf wcw fan then wwe tho some wwe stuff is great especially those who been there through the ages
I’ve heard that. I’m super happy I got mine. I’d highly recommend them and I hope they get the back for other to get them too. I really want the oval IC belt back on wwe shop.
The side plates on the wwe belt are also bigger than the wcw belt, the red croc backing was originally Mark Henry's idea.i believe, he was thw first one to have the title with that backing
@@AdamentalityWorld the current one ? I like it, however, the gigantic logo killed it for me. Everybody already knows the WWE owns the belt why do they have to slap their gigantic logo on it reminding ppl
@@tigeroutthecage4360 no sorry I meant the WWE Big Gold in the video is better. The current belt is not the best in my opinion. I agree no need to put a giant WWE logo on every belt lol
Man, WWE REALLY needs to update the WCW replica to some extent, especially given how they've upped their game on their replicas lately. Make it dual plated, have a 3D rope border like the Crumrine had, do SOMETHING. I'm glancing at my CS Crumrine which is over my shoulder while I'm watching this video and everything about the WCW BG replica just screams lazy by comparison.
They could definitely up their game on a lot of the titles, and that’s one. I’m psyched about the possibly new Undisputed title. They did one for Eddie but I want one that’s a general black strap one and the winged eagle could use an upgrade as well. Any more you want upgraded?
@@AdamentalityWorld The Winged Eagle is definitely at the top of my list as far as updating replicas goes. The WWE Big Gold needs a 3D version of it done as well. It's obvious they're capable of it given the 3D parts on the Brahma Bull belt.
Well, it only took them another 2+ years after this conversation but WWEShop finally came through with possibly the best replica ever! The new 'Shoprine' is so good it almost puts the real one I had from CS to shame and is a dead ringer to the original belt. Meanwhile, the price of the shitty 2mm WWE BG replica has gone back up. I guess they'll just keep selling it until the end of time 😂. Truly baffling how we now have an almost perfect replica of the freakin' Crumrine and a 20 year old relic of a belt as its counterpart.
Is the Shoprine the new big gold they came out with? They’ve definitely had to step up their game because everyone else was making better wwe belts than wwe lol I mean my winged eagle and undisputed are as close to perfect as they could make them compared to the old garbage they use to call the winged eagle and undisputed.
@@AdamentalityWorld In terms of etching and design, would a wcw shop big gold be comparable and a decent substitute to the 2013 figs inc next gen belt since it also has 4mm plates? Since the next gen will cost me and arm and leg I'm considering getting the shop wcw big gold until the 3d big gold finally comes out.
@@AdamentalityWorld Clamped an 18" 2 X 6 to my work bench sitting on 1/2 spacers. Slowly worked the plates. I can send you images of the belt if you'd like
I’ve been told you can with ropes, towels, and other medieval contraptions but I’m too afraid of cracking it. I was able to curve the 2mm version over my knee, but the 4mm is too hard for me... that’s what she said?
I curved mine over my knee. Just did it little by little and kept my knee off-center. I just had to be patient with it and not try to overdo it. I was also worried about cracking it but had good luck with mine.
You make me laugh you're awesome Adam. They're the big gold they had a red back because it was on were all when Eric bischoff presented it to triple h like the wwe championship had Smackdown side plate on it when it first came the it was on SmackDown then after a while it had a r all name plate on it WWE championship
Your buying overpriced wrestling belts online dude calm down and go talk to your momma that you likely still live with about getting you some ADHD medicine.
Yah the WCW one is SUPER flat it’s almost so flat that it’s almost concave! And yah the best WCW belt side plates always looked like they were about to fall of
