I live in Knox County, and we are so proud of our Mayor! I've been a lifelong wrestling fan and got to meet Glenn at Chick-fil-A two years ago. He could not have been nicer, and he was extremely easy to talk to!
@@colin5115 Haha! Not as odd as it seems. He was the guest speaker for the local Libertarian party meeting, and I just happened to be eating dinner at the meeting time. Haha.
Kane and X-Pac were my absolute favorite tag-team when thinking back to being a teenager. It just seemed like such a cool and unorthodox duo, but truly turned into an actual team and well-presented package that could have been cool to bring back or give a longer run.
The most underrated wrestler of all time. Such a nice guy, such a good wrestler and a great storyteller. When Kane was Taker's brother you would believe he was Taker's brother. When he was Pac's friend you would believe he was his friend. When he was with the American Team you actually believed this 7'0" feet monster was an American and not Satan's son. Gosh Kane... I appreciate you even more now than before.
@@rahulrajath1659 exactly. Fans of all sports use the word “underrated” so casually nowadays. As a Kane fan, I appreciate many think he should’ve won more. But he’s a put over others first kind of talent.
Their tag team was so awesome. X-Pac at that time was the Face who was respected for his Resiliency and Kane started having heart because of someone who had a lot of heart.
I remember it was 99 when most of DX turned heel and Xpac was the only member not heel and for some reason X-Pac and Kane were paired for a match and they won and the arena and fan base went crazy and for a while it was one of the things when they were paired to together the arena went crazy. Then xpac betrayed kane and it was the end of the partner ship.
BTLAGS Yes, I was so upset when X Pac turned on Kane, but it was definitely a shock because I always saw Kane turning on X Pac in the future being that was evil so I had it in my mind that he would go back to his ways because that’s just who he was, a tormented soul. Throwing Tori in it was definitely a good move and made X Pac a true heel compared to his heel days as Syxx when he was just following Hall and Nash around lol.
When he mentions Kurt angle and then says “Um uh um ...folks..that weren’t that big” he was thinking and wanting to say Benoit but knows he can’t say the dreaded CB words lol
Look up Glenn Jacobs speaks at the 2009 New Hampshire Liberty forum. You want to see a 6-foot 10 320 pound jacked guy give a lecture on economics worthy of a university professor?
It’s really cool to see a childhood icon of mine have such great success outside the ring. Always felt closer to wrestlers than other athletes when young
As someone who was watching WWE during the late 90's early 2000's. Now that I am a little older. It's interesting to see what some of my favorite wrestlers are like in there everyday lives. It's also just nice to see what down to earth people most of them seem to be.
I’m 20 years old and my favorite wrestler was Kane when I was like 7 years old. I didn’t even know he lived in Knoxville. He’s now the mayor of my city. Still doesn’t seems real.
@loyal4 the way Are you qualified to spell? Not purposely trying to be a dick, but it's just silly when a person is trying to shit talk online, and can't get the words out properly.
What I always find funny is that when anyone talks with Kane I always get the sense that he might go into character or is he really in character. It's just like Taker and some of the other wrestlers we grew up or watched because we can never tell, even when they're talking normal. Heck even when Kane's just speaking normal I get that sense of (not fear) very strange feeling that just by his low tone voice or even when he just laughs normal it gives shivers.
I swear I’ll always love Kane (and Taker), and it’s so nice to see them out here doing interviews and opening up and showing the other side to them. And also just finally getting to see them open u0 and show the human side to their characters is amazing tbh. But yeah, it’s so cool to finally see them out there doing interviews and getting their name out there and recognition from non wrestling fans and all. So yeah, it’s just so cool to see these guys out here opening up and showing they’re way more than just their wrestling characters, and I love it so much! And it has to be so cool for wrestling fans who live where he is mayor at to have The Big Red Machine as the mayor of the city where you live tbh.
I met Kane a few Years ago at a Comicon. He was wearing his mask and I was a little hesitant to say Hi to him as I walked by, but he stuck his hand out to shake my hand! Very nice guy and he's nothing like his character in the Ring. A week later he won the election to be Mayor of Knox County!
When I was 7 I watched Kane easily win the Weakest Link like it was a elementary school, with a full mask & everything! I was shocked that's when i found out he was no ordinary monster lol so Kane's success as a politician doesn't surprise me one bit, the guy is highly intelligent. It was the Mystique of his early character that got me into wrestling, even though my all time favorite is Undertaker, Kane was actually my first favorite, he's awesome i just wish he got more mainevent pushes in the WWE
It always makes me feel somewhat sad to hear Glen frequently mentioning that he felt the character Kane “was going stale” or “need a fresh angle” in the early 2000’s. He absolutely didn’t!!
Would you consider wearing it to a town hall meeting? Noooo 😂 then he saw the look on there eyes of childhood broken dreams and said well maybe 😂 lmaoooooooooo
I can see it, things getting out of hand, he rises up, rips off his suit (has Kane suit on underneath), puts on the mask, raises arms, fire goes off. Fun times.
*JWine NDine* yeah but Glenn is a Mayor of Knox County Tennessee now. He has people counting on him to be professional all of the time. Oh wait a minute. . . Glenn could have done a spot where he is getting bored with this interview and in his mind he turns into Kane and choke slams them both through the table and then all of a sudden the two start saying Glenn, Glenn are you ok and he says yeah, sorry I just lost my train of thought there, what were we talking about. . .
Really hot interview, congrats. It was very nicely done. Right questions, topic angles and pace. You didn't let the question drop and suddenly, silence! You kept it tight, not too broad, and you have a super interview! Cool!
This is an amazing interview. I got into WWF around this time and it was a lot of fun for me and my high school buddies. We knew it was cheesy but that's why we loved it.
He, along with Undertaker, Sting, Raven, Gangrel are one of the reasons, I guess, that I developed a love for dark aesthetics on art. Kane always where my favorite since the first time I saw him as a kid, for some reason I was amazed and delighted by his looks, music entrance and the whole show...then, I started to like metal music 😎👌. It's crazy to realize that he made such an impact for a kid, living in Peru, a Latin American country, that is so far from USA, and doesn't even understood the language. Oh, those memories.
Love the irony how Kane was a big silent character that rarely ever spoke and in reality he's a really smart guy who loves to read and has an English major that's very well spoken and became a mayor.
I loved BOD, liked his run with Big Show but I really liked him and RVD together, that chokeslam setup followed by the 5 star was awesome. Glenn's a good dude, alot of awesome memories from Kane.
Kane and X-PAC was a very underrated story, and doesn’t get enough credit. X-PAC got some of the most severe heat I’ve ever seen after he betrayed Kane.
Always liked the character. Thought of it as a bit goofy but enjoyable and entertaining. Biggest "wow" moment for me was when he was in a match against Big Show and I noticed they were standing eye to eye! Big man!!
A huge respect to Kane.. he completely understands the situation n explains the pros n cons in every professional field very well... seriously he played the character of Kane in 2001 segment as a dumb sidekick of undertaker during Steve Austin’s heel character but in real, he turns out a wise man..
My favorite Kane era is and always will be 98-99 kane. That man was a beast he was huge. Very well built, ik the rock now days is jacked but I always go back to attitude era Kane. No one could take this guy. He will forever be my favorite wrestler alongside Goldberg. Now he's governor in Tennessee I feel I should move down there and not pay my taxs just so he would show up to my door and chokeslam me through my kitchen table.
Who thought in 1999 kane gonna be mayor! He was just like a Red monster on those WWF days. 😎 👺 😁 Like him so much for his red out fit and attitude on WWF.
