I remember when ALL of wrestling felt like this. Even though it was scripted, the characters and their animosity always felt real. Glad to see HHH, Seth and Punk bringing back that incredible vibe.
bro this is nostalgia right here. the built up, unlike any other returns, hasnt been like this hidden. feels like 90's all over again. seth vs punk will be legendary
Well Seth in real life, doesn't like Punk and wasn't shy of outright saying he didn't want him coming back to WWE and thst due him getting fired, that everyone finally understood why CM Punk was a cancer. Even AJ Styles doesn't like CM Punk and CM Punk and AJ been throwing shots at each other for years, with CM Punk even bashing AJ for his Christian faith since Punk is an atheist. Seth even admitted he and Cody still have a degree of heat to this day. And I don't think Cody is happy that CM Punk now took his shine in both AEW and WWE. Eventually people will get over their obsession over Cody winning the belt and they will want CM Punk to win. But both Seth and Cody realize business comes first, so they gonna put their feelings aside and be professionals and not risk getting fired because they have the most cushy sitautions in their life right now. It's amazing how we average common people have to do this daily at our jobs but somehow fans are having their brains explode at wrestlers having to do the same thing 😂😂😂
@@2Good2BeTrue45seth is lying lol. He's keeping kayfabe Seth bought cody a cake and get along fine backstage. He was also baiting the punk return months ago with his interviews.
Love how even Cole was out there in the midst, you dont see that often. It looked chaotic, like no one really knew what to do, there wasnt fake security guards, and Rollins was as pissed as you'll ever see him. So well done.
This is gonna be a great storyline. CM Punk basically made the shield, Seth Rollins always felt like he was over shadow by Punk, they have unfinished business and I’m here for it.
Lol what ?, that's not at all what this is about, he literally mentioned he hates punk in a recent interview, considering punk was out of AeW by that point, I think they already had worked things out about him joining, in all honesty I've got no clue if they're going to connect shield back to this...but I'm sure just the way they did with Matt Riddle and Seth, they're going to take it the route of Seth hates him but respects him, depending on if they wrestle for the championship or not, honestly don't see punk winning the championship in his first ppv back, Mania is a different story though, punk hasn't won a Rumble either so, maybe Seth wins the first match punk wins Rumble sets things up..probably
@@edgesucks09sounds good! don't forget roman reigns also said that he doesn't like cm punk at all but he is willing to put everything behind because business and work comes 1st.
@@kingblxckheart Honestly if Punk loses to Seth then I don't think they're going to do punk vs Roman, maybe they might do a punk vs Roman instead of punk vs Seth first, unless Priest cashes in then the Seth vs punk match can happen without any qualms, but it seems like Seth is going to retain until Mania then leave for a long period of time like randy did to rehab his back, but honestly it does look like Cody vs Roman is going to be the match where Roman drops the championship
bro it just might be Roman has nothing more to prove Mox already had the feud Seth is the only one actively feuding with those from AEW, and we know how personal his feud felt with Cody@@zoeyl4d939
Lol, Seth can't hold up a mic against CM Punk, CM Punk made John Cena look like face Roman Reigns on the mic. He legit got under Cena and Triple H's skin. Held his own with The Rock. Who TF is Seth Rollins to compete with that?
I don't think so. Seth was making references and dropping catchphrases of Punk when he was feuding with Nakamura. I doubt with all those stuff going he'll be surprised to see CM Punk especially in Chicago.
Incorrect, according to insiders they all knew Punk was going to make an entrance at the end of the event. Do you really think that they did not know we was back with the WWE and just showed up out of nowhere? That is not how companies work and the WWE sets the stage for these things weeks and months in advance. They ALL knew he was returning at the end of the show, now some of them may not care for him but it is all a work as they have to work together as employees, it is not the wild west.
@@Kneelift2099 nah nah seth is good on the mic, he never really got the chance but he really delivers when it's needed, and seth is def better than punk when it comes to wrestling skills
Punk could easily main event against Roman. Paul Heyman being the advocate for both in the past would be good for the story, as would Punk having his hand in Roman’s start to his main roster career.
@user-py9pt2ic9sI doubt it...have you watched an AEW show recently? It’s nothing but dead crowds, garbage matches, cold feuds, and locker-room drama. Cody had creative freedom in AEW; a company he helped found. When he was there, he gave them everything he had. When he left - which coincidentally signified the beginning of the end of AEW - it was for good.
@smdownh9 No? That's the whole point of not putting it as part of the show; you let the fans show it off the broadcast so it gives the aura of it being a shoot.
The wrestlers were unaware Punk was returning tonight. HHH kept it under wraps. Seth Rollins is geniunly pissed and this upcomming work is going to be fire 🔥
Triple H didn't tell any of the Superstars Punk was returning. Even though he had an epic return, this kinda over shadowed the great work these Superstars put together for that match
I steadfastly was not in the conspiracy theorist camp when Punk and the Bucks exploded, but *this* has work written all over it. Seth is way too smart and professional not to know that he'd be all over social media if he legitimately went unhinged like this; it's 1000% deliberate.
Just remember, Rollins got where he was when punk left. Like cena got to where he was when Brock left. If Rollins was to vs punk, punk might get the belt on a sliver platter
@@antmck99Feel like Seth knows that, and as soon as he saw Punk, he knew he was probably getting a WrestleMania main event for a World Championship, and it ain't Roman's. Saw that reign slip right away.
@@FredFredFaz From what I can remember, Riddle and Seth never mended bridges, just kinda left it at the door when they went to work. I think a similar thing is gonna happen with Punk and Seth just with a little more security present.
You gotta remember Seth vs Punk has been a thing even before Punk came back to Wrestling. This match has been talked about since like 2018. So the fact punk returned tonight and Seth is upset. I see this as a way to turn this into a Fued going into mania.
Deal was done mid-day, I don't think he had enough time to tell anybody. I think everyone, including Seth, had no idea this was happening, and anyone that didn't like Punk was completely furious. Hopefully, they can mend fences and do business. Still an incredible night.
@@Best_Memer1.0 Apparently, Drew McIntyre was also pissed off and immediately stormed out of the arena. That's all I've seen reported so far. I knew Punk and Rollins had heat, but I don't know why Drew would be upset. Kind of odd.
Come on guys, you really think that WWE management wouldn't go to Rollins (who is one of their top stars) and give him a heads up? Especially considering the "Punk is a Cancer" comment that went viral months ago? Rollins is a pro. This is WWE doing the groundwork off an angle. Total work.
@@twk8520 yep we don't want chairs flying again 😂 Honestly was expecting Randy to betray Cody and do one of the best feuds ever but Punk coming back is a shock and a mystery.
@@Altered-Beast relax. Unlike aew, WWE has a fucking structure in place so no wrestlers fuck around. There's proper management in place . I just hope everyone squashes beef if there's any and enjoy wrestling
This is a total work. They are using the heat from the way he was fired from AEW. It's smart as hell to have the guy who verbally trashed him to be pissed... who also has the title. Punk will win the Rumble and challenge Seth Rollins for the Title at WrestleMania. It makes for REALLY GOOD TELEVISION
CM Punk and Seth both have real life beef. This was not a work. Seth said bad things about Punk in interviews and on twitter. You brought this on yourself ROLLINS.
This is most definitely a work. Rollins is a pure professional. He wouldn’t do this if he didn’t have the all clear from Triple H to do so. They’re for sure building up a future feud between Punk and Rollins using some real life heat they had.
@@RANDYORTONRKO12I mean Seth might legitimately hate punk but that doesn't mean he won't do business with him. Wwe is most interesting when the line between reality and fiction starts to blend.
@@karthiknarayanan3705 funny thing is, no one knew punk was coming back not even the staff, this was supposed to be very hush hush, that’s why sami was clearly trying to stop Seth
It was a genuine surprise and I am all in for it. I am pretty sure that if they put their beef aside CM Punk can elevate Rollins as the ultimate baby face. Also, honestly, I am already tired of Rollins reign after less than one year…we need some spice on the ring.
What makes it seem real are the commentators being the ones trying to cool him down, like when do they ever get involved in things like this? This ambiguity about whether its real or a work though is wrestling at its best.
Cole inserting himself to stop Rollins is def a sign it wasn't a work. Cause why would they do that if Cole isn't inserted into this fued? Looked like he geniuenly had to hold Seth back
@@bb-gc2txthere’s rumors Drew was being lowballed by WWE and Fightful reported talent was made aware before main event punk was debuting so no he’s not making shit up and it’s a good observation. Drew probably left before punk came out so he wouldn’t get physical with him. If he was that hurt he didn’t stop for medical as reports are he slammed his locker room door got dressed fast and ran out of the arena. I had a coworker who worked WWE production part time before retiring being Covid. That sign the camera guy gave Drew was a legit they want you the fuck backstage. Fightful reported one talent was visible upset when told about punk prior to match that could be either Seth or Drew.
HEY SHAWN GILBERT, I WANT TO THANK-YOU, ON BEHALF OF ALOT OF US OUT HERE, IF NOT FOR YOU RECORDING THIS & POSTING IT, WE WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN TO SEE SETHS REACTION TO THIS, AS PUNK WAS OUT THERE. SO SPEAKING FOR ALOT OF US, THANKS BROTHER.
This is legit as it gets announcers don’t get involved in these scrums WWE loves to end shoes with on pull Sparta etc. from a friend who was there. When his music hit Cole and Corey looked at Seth right away and ran to confront him with several others. Even Sami is over there trying to get Seth to relax This is real shit people
when even Michael Cole and Graves are sick of the shit that hasn't even started yet (Even Cody, the most professional guy around looks angry) this isn't a work at all.
Of course this is a work. lol. They are giving him (Punk) storylines from the get go. Ones that have context & meaning! Wrestlemania is calling. And this next year’s show will really be “immortal”.
Nah I thinks it’s a real reaction cause you can see Michael Cole had too hold Seth back and plus Cm Punk have been trashing the company for a decade & Seth who really love this company don’t appreciate that
If you watch the ring when Punk comes out you can see Seth start freaking out and kicking the ropes. I'd think it was a work if it weren't for Cole holding him back. Cole doesn't do that kind of thing on camera.
Seth is selling it. Doing good job too. He may not like him but respects punk because his honesty. Saying he didn't want punk back was a lie. Just building up the hype for his major pop return 🙌
Seth doesnt like CM Punk in real life so Seth emotion you see here is real...I wouldnt be surprise if this 2nd go lots people in the locker room will hate CM Punk and he will be fire like he did at Aew twice
Unlike AEW, WWE doesnt assume everyone knows rollins comments on punk in online interviews. Thats why they didnt show it on camera this is for the people who know and I'm sure will lead to a fued. Do people really believe if seth did want to get to punk 3 guys barely pulling him back would stop him?
@jonathanscott3914 How about the fact that Rollins is a company guy and far too professional to react like this unless it’s a work. And if your top star on raw hated your new signing, wouldn’t you send the new guy to smack down
This isn’t the first time they done something like this. Roman getting pinned by Jey off air he was on the floor screaming in anger. Seth stunt is just an extra content for those that when to the show live.
@@thomasdupree4529 No it's Hunter's way of saying this is WWE get along or leave. After all the cuts anyone can be out of a job tomorrow. HHH has also was never worried about controversy. His best friend is Shawn Michael's all time king of drama.
"I know your anger, I know your dreams I've been everything you want to be" well... i mean punk has been using this song before seth was even on the roster but i like how you could put the lyrics into context here lol
The way this ending was thrown together was bad for morale. You have Randy Orton returning, some amazing highlights in the War Games match, they win and celebrate, and in the middle of their pop-- "Cult of Personality" plays and the crowd pops even bigger than the winners and instantly everyone forgets what just happened for nearly the past hour and it's all about Punk.
Their morale will be fine. WWE does this constantly having returns overshadow main events. Roman beat Cesaro and then Edge returned. Roman beat Edge and then John Cena returned. Roman beat Cena and then Lesnar returned. All immediately after the match.
Untill he cries, tries to destroy the company, and ultimately quits. AGAIN. Enjoy it while you can, I give it less than a year. There's a pattern with him.
Seth actually hates punk in real life and said he hated working with him years ago in wwe and said he’s such a jerk to everyone behind the scenes and he even said punks a cancer that he needs to stay away and never come back.
I feel like they conflicting emotions. Its like they want to be happy but are cautious about it. Then theres seth whos acting like the heartbroken ex who hasn't gotten over the break up yet. 😂
There are so many great Wrestler who work hard the last Years and bring WWE back too greatness. Than many of them make a great show. After that, the Snake comes to your House. I totally understand why Rollins and others are pissed off.
@@ashkan242 They specifically said you can see in the background Randy and Jey jamming. I did not. We're talking about THIS video, the one they commented on, which would coincide with the video I saw HERE.
I don’t know if this is real or not because I know a lot of superstars really don’t like Punk, but I love how Mami is just taking a seat watching the show like the rest of us😂😂😂
Biggest mistake to let Fragile Phil back into WWE. There is a lot of bad blood between him and the entire locker room. He was a little B&$#@ on his run with the WWE. He was a little B&$#@ when he tried MMA, and he was a little B$%$# in AEW. If wrestling was legit. Every man on the roster could kick his but, and several of the women could to. You know people higher up than HHH brought him back, because Hunter could not stand him when he was in WWE. They will regret bringing him back.
If they're smart, they'll bring Roman out AFTER everyone else has had their moment with Punk first. Let all the little puppies bark, before the big dog comes in and marks his territory.
Not watched Raw in over a decade... this will bring me back to check it out. As long as it's not as lame as the Summer of Punk. WWE have a habit of dropping the ball on overhyped storylines. Well, least they did while Vince was in charge... I will be watching Raw with fresh eyes though. Hope they can keep my attention this time.
What I'm thinking is that some people knew Punk was possibly being signed or in the midst of a deal, but that they didn't know he was going to come out tonight at the end of the match. Maybe the spotlight being taken away from the win is what set him off. It's hard to see this as a work because it wasn't filmed for the camera. Only makes the whole thing more interesting moving forward.
You know that wrestlers don't only work for cameras, right? There's a crowd, so there's always word of mouth, and every person has a camera nowadays, so odds are that people would film this and post it. Kayfabe isn't dead, just evolved.
I think they're playing off of trying to make this fued seem as a real as possible, and that means not capturing this moment on crispy WWE tv and letting social media do it's thing. Often times what generates the buzz is the unknown or the things we "weren't supposed to see". It's a work and it may very well lead to Seth vs Punk at 40.
