They don't protect the snaps, they just leave glue residue on them, which ruins the snaps the moment you peel it off. Hence the scratches.

It looks cool, but I'd prefer it to have the WWF logo and say federation instead of entertainment. WWE used to sell replica WWF belts, like the winged eagle belt, but now they sell the winged eagle belt with the WWE logo instead of the WWF logo. That belt was retired years before the WWF became the WWE so it's not really a replica at all.
