I remember watching snippets of Bret Hart's WWF 1992 timeline shoot interview. And when he was talking about groupies that he would encounter on the road, he made some remark about he didn't understand why an athlete on Tiger Woods' would hook up with so many in Bret's words "skanks". I can't stress how hilarious that clip is. Bret Hart, the actual person (and not the "Hitman" persona) can be very dry and soft spoken (I don't know if he was always like that or it was side-effect of his stroke). When he disses Tiger Woods, Bret doesn't really sound like he was joking or being a smart ass, the way that Bret talked about it, he was being genuinely bewildered that Tiger would involve himself with the types of women that he involved himself with (if he had to step outside of his marriage of course).
Absolutely. The only changes that would have been acceptable would have been a replica belt with the current champions name on it, as a gift to the champ.

@@dombak0531 he's not toxic, the entire Industry he's in is. WWE and pro wrestling industry in general is the definition of "dystopian nightmare". Also, shawn Michaels is a pos egomaniac who actively ruined careers. Brets living healthy my guy, while Shawn Michaels is going for Saudi Arabia blood money
He's absolutely correct. I met Bret yesterday; he's such a nice guy. The winged eagle belt was classy. It had the globe on it, symbolizing the "world" title. The eagle was gorgeous and represented America and freedom. The belt design itself was pristine and classy. The new belt has the company's logo on it. So, in other words, if Sony owned wrestling, the world's title would have a big S on it, and we'd all think the champ was Superman. The new belt looks like it was designed by a child, not a group of adults.
Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Bob Backlund, Sgt Slaughter, Undertaker, Yokozuna, Sid Vicious, and Steve Austin all had that belt. That is the truly the legends belt.
Bret is going to be a real treat to have at the old folks home. “This breakfast is crap!” “This bed isn’t in my list of top 10 beds to sleep on” “This nurse is too dangerous to work with and hurts people”
Hell yeah! Bret is the example of what this world is missing. Instead we have a voice that exists just because theres an # next to it. They call it a movement? Well guess what? So is the digestive system and we all know the next stage. Bret signifies freedom of speech. The true essence of freedom of speech. And people diss that? If people were more like Bret? With their own opinions, and no trepidation to speak them? Instead of jumping on an existing one cos its popular, this world would have everything that equality stands for.

The Big gold belt has history going back to 1904. The title "world heavyweight champion" was used back then. The big gold belt was just a reformation of that historical belt.
I met him several times in Calgary. Backstage at a Calgary house show in '94, he put his world title belt on my shoulder when I got my photo taken with him.
@bing chilling Replace the spinner with the white strap early/mid 90s IC belt and you're correct. The spinner looks nice but it looks more like a decoration than a legitimate title belt.

If Cody wins this time they should go back to the winged eagle. Would make for a cool moment like when Kofi beat Bryan and they went back to the old belt
Bret Hart wore that belt with such Pride & honor as WWF Heavyweight Champion, how could we forget how he kissed the belt before every title defense # Always the Best there is, the Best there was & the best there ever will be.
It is a good looking belt, however most of the time WWE/AEW is staged and not real wrestling. No offense, it's just not on the level of UFC or even the Olympics wrestling competitions. One day I would like to see wrestling become less of a showboat and actually more technical/genuine. Again, I am not trying to hate or disrespect the flashy /high diving antics of WWE/AEW, etc . I am just giving my opinion on how the "sport" is to grow if it wants to remain relevant.
@@unknownaura Oh no way man; shots fired. You better take it easy man... this dude/guy took more hits than a crack addict on a Friday night; show some respect (even though the wrestling still seemed staged in my opinion the guys did get hurt or injured during the matches). 🤷🏼♂️😬

Bret "The Hitman" Hart is just like me: The kind of person who will speak his mind because he doesn't give a fuck. When you just do not give a fuck, that is absolute power, in my opinion & I love it--I really, really do...
Winged Eagle belt is probably the best, WCW belt was sweet. The Cena spinner, undisputed and Stone Cold belts were garbage. I would put the current belt at 3rd best, I think it looks good.
Another belt that I miss is the Yellow Intercontinental belt that Ultimate Warrior had when he beat Hulk Hogan in Wrestlemania 6 and title and the Hardcore title from the Attitude Era.
Honestly I think the last good belt they had was the Undisputed title. Everything since then you can tell are just made for marketing purposes because they've all looked like toys.
@@jongib369 Okay yeah, that one I'll definitely agree on. I actually like the general shield shape of the most recent titles, but with them just being the company branding as the main central design makes them look unimaginative and boring. The NXT UK belt actually does a great job drawing your eye and looking classy without going overboard like the Cena spinner belt.
@Jose Aquino That's the thing though, to me updating the belts for "modernity" completely got rid of any prestigiousness. Now to me it doesn't look like a CHAMPIONSHIP belt with HISTORY. It became a logo belt for the company. Versus something like the Big Gold that came from another company, and worked it's way to WWE. To me at least as a kid it gave the belt the feeling that another company could earn/win it, but WWEs guys were the best and they had it. But being 30 now I very well could just be stroking my nostalgia. But there is something to be said when a newer viewer is shown the past of the ocmpany and the same belt is there. To me it just adds weight because it has visible history other than carrying the name of being a companies championship
You can tell Bret never truly forgave WWE, i think his working with them was more about keeping his legacy intact as he knows how vindictive they are to those who don't play ball. That DVD from 2005 was originally going to be a hatchet job until he agreed to participate..
@Jose Aquino Like I said, it's about preserving his legacy first and foremost. His comments are honest, but they also display an undercurrent of disdain for the company and how it's run. Most wrestlers of his era are happy to toe the company line, but you can tell Bret is still bitter and likes to dig his heels in now and again. He even buried hhh a few times too..
Everyone knows the WWE belt is shit. its just a big logo. Looks ugly. When indie promotions have better looking belts than a billionaire dollar company

Yeah that was The original belt if I remember correctly. It traveled through the NWA and WCCW and whatshisname refused to let it go to the new wwf company and instead sent it through WCW
Yeah I agree. The old NWA Heavyweight championship belt was the best belt. Ric Flair wouldn't relinquish it when it all fell apart and he went to WCW. Even UFC knew what a good belt looked like as their belts resembled that belt
The winged eagle is a beautiful belt. My favorite. Love all the late 80s/early 90s WWF belts. The Intercontinental ( Warrior, Rude, Perfect, etc.) World Tag Team (Demolition, Hart Foundation, LOD).
There have been many variations of the WWE Championship. But the Winged Eagle is the most iconic. Would love the WWE tobring it back. No variations or ridiculous tweaks. But as is.
My favorites were the attitude era belt, the winged eagle one, the undisputed title (worn by Eddie Guerrero) and the World heavyweight title (the big gold one). I liked the first WWE logo belt but now they're all the same, just different colors and it sucks.

@@EXPLISITemcee Thanks, but I know exactly what the championship belt looked like back in the days before Hogan. And I still maintain that stylistically, I was always more attracted to the the Eagle winged championship belt and the Attitude belt.
The Winged Eagle was always my favorite belt also. It looked marvelous no matter who wore it or how they wore it (over the shoulder, waist, carried in hand). This brings memories of Chyna looking badass coming down the aisle with this and the European championship belt over her shoulder and another time of undertaker going on one knee in the ring and rising the title in the air….belts nowadays look clunky asf like boxing championship belts lol.
They ruined the WWE championship, The IC Championship, U.S, Tag Team championships. They took away the World Heavyweight Championship, which was the best belt they had,(and it wasn’t even their design).

It was cool but overall I prefer the winged eagle. I'd still take the undisputed belt over the ones they've had over the past 16 years, in a heartbeat.
I'd go the other direction, chronologically and land on what's called the Hogan 84. Large eagle on the main plate and the side plates included the names of the past champions.
As soon as he started to take it out of the bag I was like "It better be that eagle belt, Bret. It better not be anything else." I was not disappointed.
I honestly hate the whole “It’s not wrestling it’s’Sports Entertainment’.” BS Vince has going on now. And the “Belts” are supposed to look like “Championship(Ring)s” now. Let wrestling be wrestling

its not the talents fault. They can not go out and delivery masterful performances when they are so heavily scripted and having every single one of their spots getting weakened by the 15 camera changes they do to simulate 'impact'.
C'mon Lashley and Reigns are not jokes... imagine Lashley with the Winged Eagle and Reigns with the Big Gold Belt? I hope WWE do this for shock reasons and just change their belts
Kinda thought it'd at least be a special version made specifically for him, but it's just the same replica everybody can buy on WWEShop(barcode sticker on back, WWE logo instead of WWF). Don't get me wrong, it's still a beautiful belt, I just thought he'd have a more special version is all.

This belt is the BEST belt ever made. The k ly problem is that is was smaller than the IC title, which was dumb. Make the main face plate bigger.....duh!
For me, personally, I love the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. I loved when Raw and SmackDown had the World Heavyweight title (WCW belt) on one show and the WWE title (Undisputed title belt) on the other. Love those two. The old IWGP title is also a beauty. Today I think the AEW title might be the most beautiful one. A bit bulky but very beautiful.
Agreed. Sure hope the WWE fixes these problems soon. I'm tired of this era where the WWE, Universal, Smackdown Women's, and Raw Women's championships are exactly the same except for the color strap. I also don't like the Raw and Smackdown Tag Team Championships looking the same either. Heck, the only title belt that looks cool right now is the US Championship.
