As someone who collects Attitude Era figures exclusively, this is a must grab. Certainly not perfect, but the best we've got if you're a Mattel collector like I am. I feel like the best way to display this is the way you had him on the rotating base. Singlet down, crying face, but I'm gonna toss the medals on him. Another excellent review!
I still want an ultimate edition Kurt Angle as the “wrestling machine” with the bald head, mouthpiece, shoes & big gold. Would also love to see Mattel make some sculpted knee pads for guys like Angle, RVD, Triple H, Hall, Booker T, etc so we don’t have to give up that articulation
This thing is definitely not perfect, but I think we have the same appreciation for Kurt. I will be buying this because what other options do I have? I don't have many Ultimate's but for the ones I do, to pass on Angle would be a massive error. Just wish they did a better job on his scale. Also, would've preferred his Alliance version with the tiny cowboy hat.
Really wish Mattel could've put in a bald head sculpt, so it could be a 2 in 1. I think it's a great figure overall, a bit bulky but looks good. Never been a fan of the cloth singlets, but they did a good job on it. Great video bud.
I personally like the torso choice cause that picture where he's posing with the belt in the shorts his chest was massive, not that massive but it works well in my opinion (edit) just picked mine up IRL and in hand i definitely see what you mean with tue torso now but i still like it great review btw
This is why I’m not a big fan of the ultimate editions. The torsos are hit or miss. This to me is definitely a miss, would of rather gotten an elite. I will always prefer elites over ultimates. Great review MDT
The best Kurt Angle figure ever made was the TNA Toybiz figure. 31 point of articulation, good sculpt, amazing figure. I’d like to see a 2006-07 Kurt Angle ultimate edition figure
Agreed on the “serious” head sculpt, would’ve been better to give a more intense/angry expression on him for posing him holding the ankle lock in, hitting an angle slam etc
I been a Kurt fan since he was in the olympics,but that being said,the headsculpts are spot on..He looked much Different back then,and its real close. Imo..💯
Ive been thinking…really thinking, Ultimates need to change because something that you pointed out in your prior video about ultimate editions is that torso, the crappy kurt angle eddie guerrero john cena ultimate 10 torso, you know its gotta go, or at least get a different design for it that can cater to some kind of sideways movement but also have some good articulation on the chest
I didn't really like how wide his upper body was so I actually bought an elite legends triple h body with no arms legs or head since it's the same skin tone and it works perfectly and looks incredible imo
not perfect, but I like how this Kurt Angle looks. I dont have Kurt in my collection and I need to have him. I would love to see a King Kurt figure when he won the 2000 King of the Ring. I would also like to see a figure of him when he had that wig and the head gear and made Hulk Hogan tap. I'd love to see both :)
Very disappointing, Kurt is on my Mt Rushmore for favorite wrestlers (HBK, Flair and Bret) and this just doesn’t do anything for me. They could’ve done the KotR street fight gear or even the SummerSlam 01 gear and it would’ve been a better choice. I know his early career is great and important but I’ll always think of him in his bald era the most. Take your pick WM21, WM19, Rumble 03 hell even ECW wrestling machine Kurt before I think of hair early years Kurt.
A few things that may help the ultimates is a complete overhaul of the bottom torso (it looks like a stick and the top torso looks like a lollipop as a result) and a different approach to the butterfly joints. Figures with big chests have cutouts right in the armpit, making the bottom half of the chest look like droopy moobs, and the bottom cut for the admittedly terrible ab crunch doesn't help. Its the awkward manboobs that always does it for me, and all it accomplishes is a limited ab crunch (with no lower ab crunch either) and a fairly limited butterfly that, aside from a stunner or RKO, hasnt added much to playability or poseability at the end of the day
