Great show, this is one of the most important WrestleManias and Pay per-views of the 2000s and it predicts and changed the landscape of professional wrestling and sports entertainment and 2005 was a great year for the WWE. Eddie/Mysterio opens the show and it's really good and it's Eddie last Mania, R.I.P. The Money in the Bank ladder match, tbh, this is one of the greatest money in the bank ladder matches in WWE history and Shelton Benjamin is the MVP of the match and I wish Benjamin was a world champion somewhat. Kane does his thing, E&C reunited, Chris Benoit does his thing, and Edge slithers to win the inaugural and 2005 Money in The Bank ladder match. This match and that moment made Edge a star, it leads him to become the most hated WWE superstar of the mid and late 2000s. It leads him to cash in MITB at New Year's Revolution 2006 to become the WWE champion, which made him a bigger star. He would have great rivalries with Cena, Batista and The Undertaker for the rest of the decade. Undertaker VS Orton is very good and it feels like Orton should be the one to end the streak because Orton was asked to be the one to end the streak and I know Randy is already a star of becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion at age 24 at SummerSlam but still, The Undertaker made Randy Orton a big star. That chokeslam reverses into the RKO was one of the best WrestleMania reversals in WWE history, & The Undertaker became 13-0. Trish/Christy is alright, Angle/HBK = MOTN! This one without a doubt one of the greatest (but sadly most underrated) WrestleMania matches in WWE history and that match is free to watch on RU-vid. Both men defined the 2000s, and making Shawn Michaels tap out to the Ankle lock was a feel-good win for Kurt Angle. Skip the sumo match, JBL/Cena is average, JBL dominated this match and it turns out to be a disappointment, despite this mediocre WWE title bout, John Cena wins his 1st WWE Championship and became "Big Match John." John would make more magazines and covers, he even made his rap album and spinning WWE Championship belt to become one of the popular guys in WWE today. He would appear in commercials, movies, award shows, stuff like that. The World heavyweight title match is good, but not great, but should've been better. Triple H made Batista look a million bucks. The storyline of Batista being Triple H's lackey and do his dirty work is insane, Batista is tired of doing Triple H's dirty work, so he won the 2005 royal rumble and faced Triple H for the World Heavyweight championship and I hated HHH back when, even on RAW, from 2002-2005, I hate him, I hate his guts, I can't stand him, he always ruined my life, buried my favorite wrestlers, and I am glad Batista beat him for the WHC. The main event sadly did not live the hype but it was a good match and Batista hits the Batista Bomb to Helmsley and wins the world heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 21. I was so happy that the reign of terror ended and I was happy HHH is no longer the world heavyweight champion, we were safe from Triple H and the Batista era has officially begun, the celebration, the fans were hot that Batista won. This feud between Helmsley and Batista continue from Backlash to Vengeance and Batista would draft to SmackDown.
On aftermaths of WrestleMania 21, which really changes everything as one of the most important WMs of all time, changes the landscape of pro wrestling, we would see more of the RA stuff and the PG era stuff from 2005-2010ish, and this PPV made Cena, Batista, Orton and Edge become and look like stars. John Cena and Edge would have one of the greatest rivalries of the late 2000s, Edge and Batista would have their rivalry on SmackDown, Cena and Orton also one of the greatest rivalries ever, also would battle over the WWE Championship for a hundredth time, Randy Orton would resume his feud with The Undertaker for the rest of the year in 2005, Batista and John Cena would have their first meeting at SummerSlam 2008, which turns into a rivalry 2 years later with Batista as a heel, and most importantly... Batista and The Undertaker feuding over the WHC on SD in 2007. Bonus, Batista would quit the WWE in both 2010 and 2014 and Edge would retire after WrestleMania XXVII until he made his 9-year in-ring return at Royal Rumble 2020.
One of the most important PPVs in WWE history.
