Late in WWII, a German patrol gets shot at from a remote shack; the skirmish reveals much about the delusions of war and one victim’s unique way of standing his ground.
During the despair of the last remnants in WWII a German squadron tries to break into a sniper’s
house in midst of the countryside. In the short terror, they live, where desperation falls in and
war purpose is lost, Commandant Schuster compels his last subordinates, Huber and Kappel,
into storming the enemy’s place, sinfully, for food. While they try to convince themselves about
their band’s success, Kappel is sent to shoot directly the first person in the house, a plan that
will defy both mind and body. As the door is kicked in, how easy is it to shoot heartlessly?
In this painless world, Huber incarnates the lost, turbulent memories from soldiers who could
have had a second chance at redemption, as humans, while trying to fulfill the duty he was
committed to. In midst of his visions, he realizes the only way to move forward is withdrawing,
hoping to see his young daughter one more time. Just to find out across that door a little girl
used as bait and her brother, trying to protect their humble home.
Why are you here? … Because “We are all that is left…?” This short film presents the cold-blooded dark side of the war where both bands turn as victims and everything around them is
based on mere survival.
This shocking thriller shatters down to the core the horrors of war. The mind-bending acting
and cinematography effortlessly transport to great lengths how the invaders become conflicted
men and the uniform they wear becomes irrelevant. Who is the real villain in this story?
