Too many haters in the comment area. Zakk is a great guitarist with his own style and his guitar line looks pretty neat (I know that most of you guys accept only classic LP\SG\Strat\Tele styles, this is just smth different) I actually was thinking about buying the Odin one, there also another one is coming to join his line, SG style called Barbarian. Zakk is also coming to Toronto next monday and me and my GF are exited to see him live. Thanks for this review, love to watch your videos while having my breakfast.

Strange and incredibly impractical, could you imagine trying to change pickups in the middle of a song? You have about 1 second to lift your arm off the guitar and re-position your hand on the other end of the body, flip the switch (from an awkward angle too), move your arm back into its normal position AND THEN put your hand over strings and continue playing. It couldn't have made less sense if they put it on the friggin headstock.

I actually met Zakk about a month and a half ago in a meet and greet. He signed my les paul studio. He was so awesome and nice!!! Later that day I went to his concert. We were assured by the tickets company that the concert would be mainly Black Label Society material with several songs from Book of Shadows, but after several songs we realized it was ONLY Book of Shadows, didn't even play In This River... Many were pissed at first, but I realized I just saw a guitar god play his most personal songs live from the first row, even caught a pick. About the guitars, I find them great in both looks and sounds, not sure why many hate them...

Robbie R0tt0n I second that. I played the V in New York on holidays and I was really surprised how nice it was to play on. The frets and neck are thick as shit! Luckily I have kind of big hands but it actually made me play better. I know that sounds odd but yeah. just thought I'd give my opinion on them.

I played a few of these at my local store and I was very very impressed. I've never been a fan of active pick ups. But it turns out it wasn't the pick ups it was the guitar that the pick ups were installed into. These pick ups or should I say this guitar sounds amazing. Warm fat sustaining cuts through like a knife. I love the huge fat chunky neck. Great great great metal guitar

+Lukas K +Rob Chapman I'm tired of people trashing other peoples' playing. Have some respect please. They are doing what they want, not what you want. I don't play guitar for anyone but me. I do perform, but I don't necessarily enjoy it. I've never liked playing for anyone but me. It allows me to express myself and have fun. Rob himself has made a video of talking about people disrespecting other's playing. Zakk has done what he wanted to do and it's that simple.

Peachy And an ugly ass headstock that's half the size of the whole guitar body, and the body itself just looks worse than a normal V, roundhorns just make an otherwise OK looking V look like a toy, and the tops often look very cheap, like bad veneers. Overall just unattractive.

I own a Warhammer and I swear to God it is the best guitar I have ever played in my 32 years of playing! I haven't touched my any of my other guitars since I got my Warhammer. It is AMAZING!!! Get down to a guitar shop and play one before you rush to judgment. I am getting the Odin and the Viking V next!!

The guitars look pretty amazing, They are definitely Zakk guitars, no doubt about it. I saw Zakk when he was with Ozzy and he absolutely shreds, seeing these guitars brings me back to that era and some good memories. I wish Zakk the best of luck in this new venture and thank you two for demoing these Guitars for the world to see.

Chapman guitars are the same way. I paid $950 for my Ghost Fret. Can barely tell it's a Korean guitar. I own three other Gibson's too. All can be said for the Wylde Audio guitars as well. First impression at Guitar Center was very nice, not Korean feeling what so ever.

I agree with you %100. Things cost money no matter what you put it. USA or outside of the US. My first Les Paul was a Zakk Epi and that thing was downright awesome. I just sold it last week and sort of regret it.

Gosh .. i'm really tired about that: "... where is it made ... too much for an XYZ-made axe ..." If its built well and plays well and sounds well ==> its a great guitar! If you go to a knowledgeable producer/company and give him a decent budget == > you a obliged to get a decent guitar (think Ibanez Premium, Duesenberg, ... Squier Classic vibes, even MIMs imho.) Not liking EMGs doesn't mean they are bad ... if it's not your kind of JAVA just don't buy'em! I do love old style single coil stuff ... but playing in front of my LCD-screen is a noisy experience ... EMGs would solve that issue ==> personal preference OR personal ignorance to accept new stuff ?? (;-)))

technology wise an electric guitar made in the 50's isn't really much different, if different at all, than one made today. it's a slab of wood with pickups and tone pots. pickups might have more windings or less these days but even those are nearly identical to the ones made 60+ years ago. Even active pickups have been around for well over 30 years. So you can't understand how a technologically advanced country such as Korea could produce such a simple item? There are guys who can literally make them in their garage and you don't get how somewhere like South Korea can make a quality one? I'm at a loss.

I had the honor and privilege of meeting Zakk and the rest of Black Label Society in Milwaukee, Wisconsin back in April last year. That concert was the best concert I've ever been to. I used to be like "I really like Zakk, but his slurring vocals and his repetitive pentatonic soloing really bugs the hell out of me", while sometimes his vocals are indeed a bit difficult to understand at times, the rest of my gripes about him were thrown out of the window. And the fact that I got the last pick he threw out at the end of the show, was the cherry on top...even though I don't like cherries, lol.

Zakks sound and tone gets worse with every year. Did you see the video where he shreds besides Bonamassa and Zakk absolutly sucks? The new guitars made his sound even worse again. Well ok, no need for a Gibson with EMGs inside, they all sound the same...He should back the gain down, put more feeling in his playing, and play and sound overall better...maybe he is that bad today, because he transformed in a viking? =D =D

Agreed. Every body design has a "Cheap" looking element to it. Too many hard angles and tribal looking swoops and curves. Ughh. Ugly. Especially the horn on that les Paul body style. Yikes.

I got to play one of the Odins for half an hour at a guitar shop. I was very impressed with the fit, finish and feel. I immediately noticed how thick the neck is and we unsuccessfully tried to find a guitar in the shop with a thicker neck. Still it felt and sounded great. If I didn't already have a couple guitars with EMG 81/85 pickups I would have brought it home.

I love zakk and grew up with Ozzy, but these guitars are in essence the same shapes as epiphone and Gibson and they sound horrible like most EMG pickups. The price tag is way over the top and the baby boomers and Gen Xers are going to want the real Gibson models. Bold prediction; these guitars are going to tank.

I like Zakk but these look like a cheap guitar you'd get for an 8 year old. especially those v bridges, I hate them.

Well, Chapman Guitars also use maple, mahogany and ebony on some of their guitars, and they're half the price of the Wylde Audio stuff. Personally I'd rather just buy a new Gibson, they're around the same or even cheaper.

Living with Neuropathy That doesnt matter if the craftmanship isnt good. Hardware is probably the cheapest part of the guitar. The wood comes next and then the craftmanship which is the most important. These guitars are made in Korea in a factory that doesnt really make 1000$ guitars value-wise

I think you guys should give us a run through on the clean tones as well, so we know what the guitar sounds like when it isn't masked by a bunch of gain. And i don't mean roll the volume down - I want a genuine clean sound. These are some of the highest quality reviews on RU-vid, but I think that would be the biggest improvement you guys could make.

He was trying so hard to create something 'cool' and 'badass' that accidentally it came out as silly, over the top, and quite frankly very very boring. Just like his playing in recent years. I think he lost his mojo completely over the years.

other than the the flying v style guitar they r very ugly guitars. the lp style guitar with the sorta twisted horn....just horrendous. and the sg flying v thing, just dumb looking. sorry zack.

100% correct it was originally made ONLY for Zakk it was called the Gibson Berzerker. Look it up. He still has all the ones Gibson made and uses them live.

They are great guitars, they got EMGs, they got Grovers, neck feels like a Les Paul, are those things that make great guitars? We did use little amp, but with 4x12, and it's not the cab, it's the guitar that sounds huge! No disrespect, but i know how excited these guys can get, and they are just struggling to find the right words, and not say something wrong, they are just being polite, and i have to say, I LOVE ZAKK!

I played an Odin in a Guitar Center once. It was solidly constructed and had possibly the fattest neck I've ever played. I remember it sounded pretty good with distortion, although I prefer passive pickups for clean tones. I'd say it would be a good $600-$700 guitar, but there simply isn't enough attention to detail to justify $1000.

The Warhammer is definitely my favorite shape. I like the idea that it looks like a hybrid of a Flying V and an SG. I'm not a big fan of EMG pickups though, or any active pickups for that matter. I would take them out and replace them with a pair of passive Seymour Duncan's -- a JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. Otherwise, best of luck to Zakk, and I hope these guitars sell like hotcakes.

I've was playing for over 10 years - then I started getting classical nylon string lessons and switched to sitting with my electric between my legs classical style (most unladylike) and within about a month my electric playing massively improved. Try it. Especially for legato and speed picking. Now playing cowboy style else feels distant, detached and just plain awkward.

I always secretly like Zakk's SG V.... I see what he was going for. He wanted to combine Tony Iommi and Randy Rhoades. I, just personally, would prefer the actual Gibson version. Unfortunately, the market for those guitars.... really any of Zakk's signature Gibsons... is absolutely sky high.

hey guys,love the review. I myself have a blackout Odin which is my favorite guitar of all that I've played. medical issues and ptsd stopped me from playing for about twenty years and I'm starting to get back into it though. plus,I have one of the Zakk Sabbath barbarians that's signed,played and given to me by Zakk himself. I keep it under lock and key,it's my precious :)

I own an EMG loaded guitar and I knew it was gonna come down to the clean! They only do "sterile clean. It's a balanced signal pickup, with super high yet clear output. So it's a really articulate pickup, that's why it excels with distortion. You can hear every note! I like the Vs they're on my short list for new guitar in the future. Kinda want that Bea sig ML3 too though. Maybe a Gibson SG. Dunno yet. Anywho, nice job guys!

first of all... CONGRATULATIONS Zakk Wylde on making this move, RESPECT!!!! Regarding the guitars, I would risk saying that (based on what I saw and heard on this video alone) I would gladly buy that V shape and use it at a gig, or as an alternative guitar. I play 60% Blues 40% Rock... no metal at all... but I have a feeling that that Viking (is it called Viking?) model would suit me just fine, I'd always wanted a V shape guitar.... Gibson's are WAY overpriced, and I would only spend that kind of money for a Les Paul... all in all... great guitars Zakk!!! Well done!!!

I'd have to pop a Xanax and knock down a few shots of that Odin blend before I demo'd these guitars. Quite frankly I don't know how Mr. Chapman and the Captain pulled this off but congrats ... you did it.
